75148 Encounter on Jakku revealed
Posted by CapnRex101,
An image of 75148 Encounter on Jakku has been revealed in DK Reads LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens which is now available for pre-order. This page spread shows Unkar Plutt and his junk shop along with Rey and BB-8 but Teedo and the Luggabeast which are also included in the set are omitted from this image.
The set will be available in the summer and is priced at £49.99, so will probably cost around $49.99 in the US based on the value of licensed sets of a similar size.
You can take a look at a slightly larger image after the break...

Looks cool
neat set might get it but I hoped for the luggabeast disappointed :(
It looks kinda ugly. So it had better have some fun features... although it'll sell very well, of course, because BB-8.
Can't wait to get this set. Although, it looks like the interior of the junk shop, but I could be wrong.
Awesome! I like the earthy colors. I really like Plutt's minifig!
lame figures- thers a lot of st taht you can gat Rey or BB-8.
I don't much care for the junk shop but the Unkar Plutt minifigure looks fantastic.
@insanegameing101 - The Luggabeast will be included, as stated in the article.
Glad it's on the lower end of the price range. Definitely excited to get some more Star Wars desert planet scenery, and finally a BB-8 in a lower-priced set!! This one's going to be a must-buy for me.
Cool. I like it, I'm sure I'll have to get it. :-)
Looks like this set it worth 49 portions!
I'm sure this is only about half to two thirds of what the set actually consists of, so hopefully there will be a couple of other bits of scenery too. Some extra awnings and boxes etc would be nice to fill out the scene. No Finn, but then he is available in Battle on Takodana if you wanted a lower price range set already. I hope we get a second distinct Unkar thug in this set too.
^ The prelims show exactly what we see here, plus the Luggabeast and rider. Nothing else, but hey, that could always change.
Another set that would look better if you bought 2-3 of them and made a "complete" set.
Well on the bright side, even if images are somehow banned for SW at NYTF this weekend, we will still know the true price for the US.
I see they're going with the cinematic interpretation of the story, not the novelization :D So far this set looks really good, like the "wall & a little bit" concept done right unlike Takodana. I hope they have a stand for Unkar though so he can properly look down at Rey http://img.lum.dolimg.com/v1/images/unkar-plutt_4cd0610b.jpeg Most looking forward to the luggabeast though!
I think Unkar Plutt does not translate well to Minifigure size. Lego tried, but it was impossible. His head is too big for the torso and legs. The rest of the set looks good.
@77ncaachamps I got 2 of the buildings on eBay for MosEisley and loved the buildings. I had no interest in the dew back or land speeder.
The building looks ok and Unkar Plutt looks pretty good, but I anticipate that this will be way overpriced in Australia. From the images I've seen of the Luggabeast it looks like a good build but the colour scheme has too much blue.
The luggabeast is actually blue in the movie but covered in dirt.

I wonder what the outside looks like? (Presuming this is the interior)
The junk shop looks like a bit of a mess (no pun intended), to be honest. The Luggabeast will indeed be the most interesting part of the set, I guess. Lego should have held back releasing Rey's Speeder as a stand alone set and included it here, where it would have upped the playability and made good sense.
Unkar Plutt looks alright: not a character I was really missing in the current line up, but Lego have absolutely ramped up the side characters in recent years. And it's too bad Rey is wearing the same outfit yet again: she does wear the same outfit throughout the movie, but I'd have liked to see a bit more leg on her this time around, just like in the movie.
It's nice to see more building/structure-based sets in the Star Wars line, but given how bland and generic this particular one was, Im hardly excited. Would've opted to make the structure bigger and stick the Luggabeast in a separate set.
And the TFA sets continue to be ugly overpriced sets that I don't need. Nice. Hobbit was all "give them a black wall", TFA is all "give them a redish brown wall". The only interesting sets are X-Wing and Falcon (which are both rereleases with minor changes) and Rey's speeder. I guess we will have to wait until these sets are in their third iteration until they truly shine, like the OT-Star Wars sets before.
Maybe they should've given him the Haggrid treatment?
…we will shall see what the wallet says.
I want the minifigures for this set and Battle on Takodana but I don't think the actual displays justify the price.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the availability of BB-8. The only set he was in before this was the Millennium Falcon. The Millennium Falcon is $150. This is, presumably, $49.99. An one hundred dollar knockoff to get the minifigure (droid) in a cheaper set? Sold! I do have to say, the rest of the set does look really good.
@Monkeyman3838 BB-8 was also in Poe's X-Wing set for $79.99 RRP. So no, getting BB-8 again here is not a victory but more of a redundant waste of a slot for the other Unkar Thug (she fought off 2 of them).
And a few people did mention BB8 already...
£49.99 for that? Oh dear, oh dear.
@Grimlock: Well, you haven't seen Teedo, Luggabeast or the outside yet. You're judging the set, and you've not even seen the main parts of it yet.
@pagani88 but he does have a point. If you considerthe fact that this is the majority of the pieces in the set but also the majority of the effects of the pieces remain to be seen...
THAT is $50? Lego is really crossing the line with these prices.
@mrware, I've seen pictures of the Lugga Beast without as much dirt, but I still think it would have looked better with a mix of bley and blue as it makes it look more like it did in the movie, like this Ideas proposal https://ideas.lego.com/projects/126599/updates.
@Thebrickdoctor, you may be right there, bley would have been a better choice. Shame really as that ideas project will never go through now.
I'm really disappointed in Star Wars sets these days. This is $60! Sure, it's got more pieces than Battle on Takodana, which was the same price, but at least that one had a very cool structure and more desirable figures. This set has 4 minifigs, a ugly blue luggabeast, and a random structure that looks nothing like anything in the movie. Yet somehow, this is the CHEAPEST set (of 4) to include BB-8. I won't be getting this...
