BrickList: Lego Space "Impulse" from the 1980s and the 1990s

Lego Space "Impulse" from the 1980s and the 1990s

Before there were "Impulse" sets, there were these small sets in Lego Space. Each set featured a minifig with a small vehicle (usually). The set numbering started at 6801 and increased numerically (more or less) in the subsequent years. Note, promo mini-sets are not listed here.

1. 6801: Moon Buggy

(1981) This may seem to be just a collection of parts by today's standards, but it's a good collection of parts back then!

(1986) Surprisingly the "gap" in the numbering (for 1982?) was filled 4-years later with this set. One has to wonder how the original 6802 looked.

19. 7310: Mono Jet

6817 was the last mini-set made by lego for the space theme before the new millenium. 6820 numbers and onwards were reserved for the "small" sets as opposed to the mini-sets that were part of this list. 6819 has never been used for a mini-set and is the only number left in the range that's unused. Mission to Mars had mini-sets in a different numbering range (that's consecutive with the rest of the theme) for the new millenium, but most of these mini-sets were promos.
