BrickList: LEGO Universe Sets
LEGO Universe Sets
LEGO Universe is LEGO's Massively Multiplayer Online Game, and it may come as a surprise that, at first glance, it seems to lack any real LEGO sets. However, with closer investigation, there are a wide variety of LEGO sets, both classic and obscure, that appear in LEGO Universe.
Created by SJPlego. Last updated on 23 Oct 2010.
1. 2853944: Astronaut
The Nexus Astronaut, also known as the Nexus Pilot, is a rare minifigure packaged with pre-orders of LEGO Universe.
While there is no in-game Nexus Astronaut character, the minifigure comes with a code card that allows players to unlock his costume in-game. After registering this code, players will receive a letter in their mailbox titled "Pre-Order Code Reward!" with an attached package. Opening this package will give players the Nexus Astronaut Helmet, Shirt, and Pants.
A character in the log-in screen is seen wearing the Nexus Astronaut Shirt and Pants, as well as Nexus Airtanks. After being chased around by a dragon, this character grabs a Nexus Astronaut Helmet in addition to a Sentinel Knight Rank 3 Sword and Shield. The tables turn, and this character starts chasing around the now-frightened dragon.
The Nexus Astronaut also appears in the LEGO Club Magazine comic "Crisis in Space" and Episode 7.1 of "The LEGO Club Show". These tell the story of the Nexus Astronaut, who teams up with Max to build a Nexus Force Rocket and escape the Venture Explorer.

The Universe Rocket, known in-game as the Nexus Force Rocket, is a rare rocket that was given away at the October 2010 "Universe Rocket Mini-Build" event at LEGO Stores.
Like the Nexus Astronaut, it includes a code card allowing players to unlock its Modular Rocket components in-game. After registering this code, players will receive a letter in their mailbox titled "Mini-Build Event Reward!" with an attached Build Event Rocket Pack. Opening this pack will give players the Nexus Rocket Nose Cone, Cockpit, and Engine.
In Episode 7.1 of "The LEGO Club Show", the Nexus Astronaut and Max team up to build a Nexus Force Rocket, which the Nexus Astronaut uses to escape the Venture Explorer.

3. 8683: Magician
The Magician was a member of the Collectible Minifigures Series 1.
The Magician does not appear in LEGO Universe, but appeared on the LEGO Universe patcher during Founder's Release. When players first installed LEGO Universe, the Magician appeared, along with a notice reminding players to register their accounts before playing the game.
The Magician also appeared on the LEGO Universe website under the "My Account" section during Founder's Release. Coinciding with his role on the patcher, the Magician guides players through the steps required to register their accounts. However, his appearance on the LEGO Universe website has been replaced by a Rank 1 Assembly Engineer.

8. 4416: Robo Pod
The Robo Pod was part of the X-Pods series from 2004 to 2006.
The Robo Pod's main model, a bipedal laser-wielding robot, appears in-game as Defense Robots. Many of these robots were corrupted by the Maelstrom into dangerous Stromling Mechs found in the battlefield between Paradox Research Facility and Sentinel Encampment. The Stromling Mechs can be smashed and rebuilt into turrets which can be built using pieces from the Robo Pod set. Beck Strongheart sends players on the "Fortify the Front" mission to rebuild five Stromling Mechs into turrets. Nexus Force operatives occasionally send players on daily quests to smash Stromling Mechs. Building more turrets out of mechs will complete the "Robo-Repair" achievements. Smashing Stromling Mechs is required to complete the "Paradox Protector" achievements and will also contribute to the "Smash 'Em All" and "Defeat the Maelstrom" achievements.
One Paradox Mech, PRDX-4, remains free of the Maelstrom's influence. Unlike all other appearances of this robot in LEGO Universe, PRDX-4 has the color scheme of the original Robo Pod set. PRDX-4 is a Robot Picnicker and hangs out at the Avant Gardens Launch Area, where it sells Mech Bay Ball-Bot Models and gives the Spare Parts daily mission. Talking to PRDX-4, Dusty Holster, and Kirsten Quasar will complete the "Making More Friends" achievement.
Stromling Mechs reappear in the Avant Gardens Survival Instance. Unlike those that appear in the battlefield, these Stromling Mechs cannot be rebuilt into turrets. Smashing 100 survival Stromling Mechs will complete the "Crush the Uprising" achievement, and all smashed survival Mechs will contribute to the "Nothing Left for Dead" achievements.

9. 8112: Arachnoid Stalker
The Arachnoid Stalker, also known as the Battle Arachnoid, is a spider-like mech piloted by Devastator Robots.
The forelegs of the Arachnoid Stalker are incorporated into the design of Maelstrom Spiders, giant arachnoid creatures of chaos. The most well-known Maelstrom Spiders are the Spider Boss, created by Baron Typhonus, and the Spider Queen, created by Paradox, although other Maelstrom Spiders have made minor appearances in various LEGO Universe media.
The Spider Boss was created by Baron Typhonus in the Mythran Temple to demonstrate the power of chaos. However, the Spider Boss turned on its creator and dragged him into the Imagination Nexus. This action corrupted the Imagination Nexus into the Maelstrom, the menace that provides an antagonistic force in LEGO Universe.
The Spider Queen was created by Paradox to study the Maelstrom. However, she broke free of her cage, creating an explosion of Maelstrom energy which transformed many Paradox researchers and Assembly defense robots into Stromlings and Stromling Mechs. Until the Power of the Nexus Force update, the Spider Queen could be found in the Maelstrom Mine of Avant Gardens. Following the update, she retreated to Block Yard, where she can be battled in the Spider Queen Battle Instance.

Players can earn the Shipwreck Hideout by completing the "Defeat the Maelstrom 3" achievement, in which they smash a total of 560 elite enemies such as Stromling Mechs. This will give players the Shipwreck Hideout Pack, which contains four Shipwreck Hideout models which can be used on players' properties. These models can be arranged like the set to form the complete Shipwreck Hideout, or they can be rearranged and put into any position that the player can imagine. Players who have completed this achievement can also repurchase the Shipwreck Hideout Pack from Honor Accolade.

The Monastery Flag Banner Model and Monastery Railing Model are sold by Bubu Mumu the Ninjago Models Vendor for $120 and $140, respectively, and can also be obtained through random drops. They can be placed on players' properties. Jay uses the bricks of a Monastery Flag Banner Model in his plan to rebuild Skeleton Catapults into Ninja Flingers.
Jay's DX Gi and DX Pants of Storms are rare drops in the Battle Against Frakjaw! The Gi grants -1 damage from Skulkins, +4 Armor, and +3 Imagination. The Pants grant -1 damage from Skulkins, +2 Armor, and +3 Imagination.

The Farm Silo 1 Model was included in the 12 Month Subscriber Reward Pack. If players subscribed to LEGO Universe for a full year, they received a "12 Month Veteran Reward!" letter in their mailbox with the pack included as an attachment. Upon opening the pack, players can place the Farm Silo 1 Model on their properties.
As of the Nexus Tower update, the 12 Month Subscriber Reward has been changed to the Ribbit's Top Hat. There is currently no other confirmed method towards collecting the Farm Silo 1 Model.
As an easter egg, a cow can occasionally be seen floating outside the Venture Explorer. The cow's appearance is likely a tribute to the 1996 film Twister.

19. 7905: Building Crane

Two Portable Toilets are found at the Avant Gardens Launch Area, and Johnny Thunder hid a treasure chest in one of them. Three more Portable Toilets are located in Red Blocks Amphitheater. All Portable Toilets have smashable walls that break to reveal the toilet inside.
As an easter egg, a portable toilet retooled into a phone booth can occasionally be seen floating outside the Venture Explorer. The phone booth in space is likely a tribute to the Doctor Who series.
It is also worth noting that the Building Crane itself appears in the "Answer the Call" LEGO Universe trailer formerly used as one of LEGO Universe's introduction cutscenes. Two Building Cranes are seen near the bridge assembled by the Minifigs who are answering the call.

33. 3961: Johnny Thunder Key Chain
Johnny Thunder was the main character of the popular LEGO Adventurers line.
Now a Venture League Hero, Johnny Thunder can be found at Red Blocks Amphitheater in LEGO Universe's Nimbus Station. Venture League Rep Logan Moonshot sends players to find him in the "Find Johnny Thunder" mission. There, Johnny Thunder challenges players to a treasure hunt mission, "A Thunderous Collection", and will reward them with a Venture Badge, one of four badges required to join Nexus Force.
Johnny Thunder later assigns players the "Heartthrob" mission, during which he tells players to ask the ladies at the concert if they would like to meet the famous Venture League Hero himself. Sofie Cushion, DeeDee Light, Green Brockley, and Krista Clear are unaware of Johnny Thunder's fame and decline the offer. Unfazed by this, Johnny Thunder awards the player with his autograph, likely a reference to the LEGO Backlot game. To complete the "Name Dropper" mission, players must give the autograph to Renee Tombcrusher the Venture League Explorer, who has a crush on Johnny Thunder.
Johnny Thunder will continue sending players on quests to find the treasure chests he hid all over Nimbus System. The missions he sends players on are "Avant Gardens Treasure Hunter", "Gnarled Forest Treasure Hunter", "Pet Cove Treasure Hunter", "Forbidden Valley Treasure Hunt", "Starbase 3001 Treasure Hunter", "Nexus Tower Treasure Hunter", "Ninjago Monastery Treasure Hunter", and "Crux Prime Treasure Hunter". He hid five treasure chests in Avant Gardens, Gnarled Forest, Pet Cove, Forbidden Valley, Starbase 3001, and Ninjago Monastery; hid fifteen treasure chests in Nexus Tower; and hid eight treasure chests in Crux Prime.

As such, he can be found in LEGO Universe as the LEGO Club Host. He greets LEGO Club Members to LEGO Club Station Alpha, and he will often give players hints regarding various aspects of the game, ranging from using binoculars to fighting Stromling Apes.
He also appears in the LEGO Club Magazine comic "Crisis in Space" and Episode 7.1 of "The LEGO Club Show", in which he teams up with the Nexus Astronaut to build a Nexus Force Rocket and escape the Venture Explorer. Since the Nexus Force Rocket could only carry one passenger, Max builds himself a jetpack to escape the Venture Explorer. 37. 6285: Black Seas Barracuda
The Black Seas Barracuda is Captain Redbeard's famous pirate ship from the original 1989 LEGO Pirates line.
In LEGO Universe, it is now captained by Captain Jack Knife and has a new dark-red and white color scheme. However, following an encounter with the Kraken, the Black Seas Barracuda is now stuck in a tree at Pirate Camp. It is worth noting that, in addition to its new color scheme, the Black Seas Barracuda now has a redesigned and lengthened hull built mainly out of slope bricks, and the ship now has another mast and an extra pair of cannons.
The Black Seas Barracuda can also be seen in a sea battle against another pirate ship in the Keelhaul Canyon race. This ship has been recolored and redesigned similarly to the ship stuck at the Pirate Camp. As the Keelhaul Canyon race continues, the sea battle becomes more fierce, and both ships are set aflame. During the final lap, the crew aboard the Barracuda humorously bring out an oversized cannon to sink the enemy ship.

39. 5525: Amusement Park
Amusement Park was one of three LEGO Factory sets released in 2005, consisting of four sections designed by three LEGO fans.
The Mini Galleon Model, designed by Neal McClatchey, is obtained upon completing the "Everybody's Chum, Chief Brody 1" achievement, in which players shoot twenty-five sharks hanging at the Pirates Camp in Gnarled Forest. Once this achievement is complete, players can also purchase the Mini Galleon Model from Honor Accolade. The Mini Galleon Model can then be placed on players' properties.
The Mini Galleon also appears as a friendly target in the Cannon Cove Shooting Gallery, and shooting it will deduct 1,000 points from the player's score and terminate any shooting streaks. A Maelstrom-infected version of the Mini Galleon is another target in the Shooting Gallery; shooting it will earn the player 1,500 points, and shooting multiple Maelstrom Galleons will give the player a random pirate-themed model to use on properties. Shooting Maelstrom Galleons will also contribute to the "Uncanny Cannoneer" achievement.
It is worth noting that an image found in the LEGO Universe beta files displays two Mini Galleons; one with a red hull and one with a blue hull. These were likely to appear in an early version of Cannon Cove Shooting Gallery, but were ultimately cut from the game prior to beta testing. 4778 Airline Promotional Set also appears in this file but does not appear elsewhere in the game.

(continued)
The Venture Explorer's security mechs were turned into Corrupted Sentries following the Maelstrom's attack on the ship. Like Stromling Mechs, Corrupted Sentries can be smashed and rebuilt into turrets. Epsilon Starcracker sends players on the "Robot Rampage" mission to smash six Corrupted Sentries, and smashing more Corrupted Sentries will complete the "Corrupted Sentry Destroyer" achievements.
Stromling Mechs are among the enemies guarding the Avant Grove and Nimbus Isle properties, spawned from the Maelstrom Generator. They may be fought, but will quickly respawn unless the generator is smashed. Smashed Stromling Mechs can be rebuilt into turrets. Any Stromling Mechs still on the property when the Imagination Orb is unleashed will be immediately eliminated.
Stromling Mech Invaders are among the enemies found at Crux Prime. They have a dark Maelstrom blue color scheme and have higher health and strength than either Stromling Mechs or Corrupted Sentries. Like their brethren, smashed Stromling Mech Invaders can be rebuilt into turrets. Bronson Jarls will occasionally send players on daily quests that involve smashing specific numbers of Stromling Mech Invaders. Smashing 50 Stromling Mech Invaders will complete the "Crux Prime Hacker" achievement. One of the Stromling Mech Invaders is named ED-902; smashing ED-902 will contribute to the "Crux Prime Champion" achievements.
Stromling Mechs and Stromling Mech Invaders participated in the Battle of Nimbus Station. Any Stromling Mechs on the battlefield must be smashed in order to move on to the next round. Like the Stromling Mechs of the Survival Instance, these Stromling Mechs cannot be rebuilt into turrets. Any smashed Stromling Mechs will contribute to the "Resistance Force" achievements. 55. 2505: Garmadon's Dark Fortress
Garmadon's Dark Fortress is an evil castle located in the Ninjago Underworld
The skull design mounted above the fortress gate is used as a motif in Crux Prime's Maelstrom Quarry, where it can be found on the various Skulkin structures. On a Skeleton Drilling Rig, the skull face conceals a weak spot which can be exploited to leave the drill open to attack; this is required to complete the "Destroy the Drill!" mission. The skull design is also used on Skeleton Watchtowers, from which two Skeleton Watchmen survey the area.
Although the whole fortress does not appear in LEGO Universe, its architecture heavily influences the Skeleton model set. Models such as the Skeleton Model Wall take clear inspiration from this set, while the Skeleton Throne Model is taken directly from this set. In addition, the skull motif is seen yet again on the Skeleton Mobile Drilling Rig Model, Skeleton Repair Facility Model, Skeleton Idol Model, and Skeleton Gate Model.
The skull motif appears again on the Skeleton Rockets, integrated into the design of the Starskull Rocket Nosecone and Terror Comet Rocket Nosecone. Either of these rocket nosecones may be obtained by digging up ten bones with the Skeleton Dragon Pet and bringing them to Mardolf the Orange.
In the Ninjago Battlefield and Ninjago Caves, there are many graves based upon the grave from this set. These coffins will open and spawn Skulkins if players dare to approach, but can be quickly smashed to avoid a fight.

Now, Neido (formerly Sensei Wu) waits at the Monastery Ruins for players who are ready to learn the history of Ninjago and the secrets of Spinitzu. The Monastery as it appears in LEGO Universe is much larger than the original set, but clearly takes architectural inspiration from this set.
In the rebuilt Ninjago Monastery, the original Spinjitzu Dojo has been recreated in the Monastery Courtyard. There, Sensei Wu waits for Nexus Force recruits who wish to learn more forms of Spinjitzu and help the ninjas against the attacking Skulkins.
The Monastery Thin Wall Model 1 and Monastery Small Gate Model are sold by Bubu Mumu the Ninjago Model Vendor for $920 and $1,360, respectively, or can be found from random drops in the Ninjago Monastery. When obtained, they can be placed on players' properties.

The Bat Lord Helmet can be obtained by completing the "Crux Prime Champion 3" achievement, in which players defeat a total of 16 named Maelstrom enemies on Crux Prime. After this achievement is completed, Admiral Honor Accolade also sells the Helmet for 70 faction tokens. The Bat Lord Shirt gives players +1 armor, +3 imagination, and +1 health. The Bat Lord Pants give players +1 armor, +3 imagination, and +1 health.
