Best and worst Lego City sets 2005-present
A selection of Lego City models with two from each year which I consider to be the best or worst set of that year.

1. 7239: Fire Truck
Probably the best set of 2005, The truck is packed with action and plenty of acceseries including a hose,lift and boat. The set is still available and still to this day blends in very well with new lego city products.

2. 7240: Fire Station
Somewhat the worst City perhaps in my opinion for 2005. For a firestation it feels too small and not enough action is happening. It has now rolling door,It feels juniorized and does not have a proper fire vehicle too.

3. 7898: Cargo Train Deluxe
This one gets the edge for the best 2006 City set by a fingernail. The large amount of track ,vehicle design and variety of cargo put this one in the winniner seat of 2006.

4. 7892: Hospital
Easily the worst city set of 2006. The set is very fragile and breakable and also does not blend in very well with other town/city buildings. The set is out of scale and out of all city sets to this day is in need of a remake asap.

5. 7994: LEGO City Harbour
The biggest and best city set for 2007. The set is huge and although requires quite a lot of space when assembled is a lego city masterpiece. The fun factor of the set is amazing as you can move crates from the boat to the crane to the truck etc/; as well as that there is a little office/shop on the other side where you could make one of the characters book a boat or something. The set has hours and hours of fun in side.

6. 7944: Fire Hovercraft
The only official set in 2007 I would call junk, The set looks too bulky,juniorized and has terrible playability. The set is very fragile and some of the features do not work succesfully. This is the set of 2007 I would describe as junk!

7. 7744: Police Headquarters
Despite being a recent remake this set is absolutly fantastic to detail. it is large and packed with action which includes the back of the prison cells flying off and roller gates to store the much improoved police vehicle stock. The set also has better interior such as a confession room and a water jug plus nice clear blue windows. The set originally cost £50 which was very good value for money but now cost's £70 which is a bit much. In 2011 the set will be discontinued and replaced by a newer version. If you still want this one hurry but I suggest paying more than £60.

8. 7723: Police Pontoon Plane
2008 delivered a fantastic series of rereleased police sets. However unlike the rest this one is no exception. The set is too oversized and is out of scale of the other sets. It does not really contain enough figures and needs at least 2 more to gain exitement. The set is also boring and is not worth £35 which is a good job too as it was only £17.49 when released. The set is very dull and boring compared to the other police sets.

9. 7639: Camper
A set which is what all fans have been wanting post summer 2008. The set seems more pricey than a lot of the city sets but the attention to detail is fantastic, two chairs,surfboard and a mini tv. The set is a beauty on the outside and inside.

10. 7636: Combine Harvester
A difficult loss as 2009 was a really good year for Lego City. But the set is large a bit bulky and the colour is a bit odd.

11. 3221: LEGO City Truck
Amazing value ,Bright sleek and large. The lego truck is a amazing idea as it is a lego set based on a lego set.Genius,

12. 7207: Fire Boat
Despite being better than the 2007 with more interior the set is too expensive at £40 and does not need rereleasing.

13. 7279: Police Minifigure Collection
It's early days and 2011 is not here but out of what is upcoming this looks like the best one so far. The robbers,the red crowbar and the cool little quad bike with police figures.

14. 7287: Police Boat
Small ,plain and not terribly exiting. For now I would describe it as the worst upcoming 2011 set,

15. 4204: The Mine
2012 was quite a tricky year for choosing as there were many excellent looking City models. This set wins best City set of 2012 because of it's high level of playability and also beautiful appearance to eye on display.

16. 4439: Heavy-Lift Helicopter
This was a set that seems very disapointing despite looking promising before launch. The copter's design is rather poor with flaws in many places. The model is also not terribly realistic when you consider how many heavy police copters exist in most countries.

17. 60008: Museum Break-in
This set takes the edge for the best 2013 set in my opinion because it's the first carnation of a Lego Museum and also includes greater detailed figures and decent set of vehicles too.

18. 60005: Fire Boat
Seeing the third reincarnation of the Lego fire boat in five years [the second also in this list]. The set shows no originality in design and concept. The smaller boat included doesn't add too much justice too.
