How to Make a Functional Hogwarts Castle
This is a list for making a Hogwarts from the Harry Potter theme. It would be rather expensive to follow this list, so it is more for inspirtation. Another thing, I have it set to hold flesh charecters. If you have any suggestion or comments, leave them on my wikia talk page (a link is provided on my profile).

1. 4842: Hogwarts Castle
Get two of this. Use one for pieces and build the other. Use the two Great Hall's to make one large one with four tables and a longer staff table. Take everything out of Gryffindor and Astronomy towers (including the owls) and the Trophy room. Make Dumbledore's office and the astronomy tower taller using the pieces from the extra set. Make a sliding wall that can support a custom gargoyle in this new section. Also move the staircase up to the new part of the tower. Use some of the pieces from the extra pieces to make an owlery. Use the extra cat as Crookshanks. Put your own furniture in the empty areas. If possible, put a large rotating staircase in Gryffindor Tower (because I think it is really the tower of the grand staircase), though this might not be possible as it requires removing the floors. Turn the revolving suit of armor stand into a revolving sink featuring a snake in some way, keep the diary in the back.

2. 4736: Freeing Dobby
Put this on the right of the ground floor Dumbledore's tower to make it look like stairs leading to a window. Then build a small balcony.

3. 4737: Quidditch Match
You will need at least two of these for the hoops. You could then cherry pick other players.

4. 4738: Hagrid's Hut
Use this as Hagrid's hut. In my opinion, it is the better version. You can put the owls in the owlrey. You don't need the horribly done giant spider. Put the hut near the quidditch field.

5. 5378: Hogwarts Castle
Use this as the entrance hall and have the great hall near the side. Take out the bed, fireplace, and everything in the room of requirment. You can put the owls in the owlry if you want, but they aren't printed. Put the vanishing cabinet on the second floor of the room of requirment (if it does not fit, put it on the bottom floor), Put the Reducto target on the bottom floor (or on the top if the cabinet doesn't fit). Use the trophies from 4842 to make a larger trophy room. Take Sirius's face out of the fireplace and put it in Dumbledore's office (with green flames if possible). Try to make two more of the green beds for later.

6. 4750: Draco's Encounter with Buckbeak
Use this to get Buckbeak. You can put the book (with a chain around it) in Hagrid's Hut. Put the pumpkins outside of Hagrid's Hut.

7. 4752: Professor Lupin's Classroom
You get Neville and the DADA classroom. It doesn't matter where you put it.

8. 4753: Sirius Black's Escape
You get another Buckbeak, you don't need him though. Take out whatever is in the bottom of the tower and add a desk and other office like things. Put Flitwick in there (in the book it was Flitwick's office).

9. 4757: Hogwarts Castle
Use this in behind the entrance hall, about the distance of a 10x10 baseplate (actually use a baseplate) and build a fountain in the middle. Have the greenhouse somewhere close, but not on the baseplate. Take off the gray part of Gryffindor Tower and make it taller using some pieces left over from 4842, but still use the portrait, unless you want to use a yellow lady or blank one. Put the fireplace from 4842 on the floor above the beds unless you want to use the one from 5378. Also put the table with the Marauders' Map on that floor. Put custom furniture in the other of the tower and in some of the empty rooms around the castle. Put the dementor gates and put them in the front of 5378, then make a fence like in graveyard duel to go with it. IT DOES NOT HAVE TO GO AROUND THE WHOLE CASTLE!

10. 4729: Dumbledore's Office
You really just need the pensive (the purple disk), put it in Dumbledore's office along with some of the more interesting objects. Then take it apart and use it the pieces for custom areas. You could also use the gargoyle for the purpose mentioned at the start of the list. If you want to, you can use the Purple robes(or pink from 4757) for Dumbledore, if you use a flesh face, his beard will cover the yellow.

11. 4730: The Chamber of Secrets
You really just need it for Fawkes, buy him seperatley, build him a perch, and put him in Dumbledore's office. If you want, you can also use the bathroom included in the set.

12. 4733: The Dueling Club
Use the stage in the Great hall (behind the staff table) and the dueling platform can go in Lupin's Classroom. Give whichever flesh Snape you use the grey wand (it just suits him).

13. 4735: Slytherin
This one will take quite a bit of remodeling to do. I'll let you use your imagination on this one, and don't forget the 4842 furniture. Put it on the ground floor to save trouble.

14. 4705: Snape's Class
Get two of these and have them mirror each other. Then build some custom desks. You will have to aquire quite a few kettles to go with it. Also put it on the ground floor.

15. 4709: Hogwarts Castle
Use the boat arch on the ground floor. You can give Dumbledore the purple and yellow chair if you want to (he doesn't have one in 4842). Then make a library using the one included in this and the restricted section. Take the rest apart.

Get this just for the chalkboard. You might need a few depending on how many custom classrooms you might choose to build.

20. 4867: Hogwarts
Put the two towers on the side of the viaduct. They may be combined to make the updated astronomy tower taller if so desired.
Add tan 1x1 pillars to the viaduct and a roof similar to the one on the coach in 4841. The roof would have to be made two studs wider
Put the viaduct inbetween 5378 and the gates to Hogwarts/Hogsmeade.

21. 4727: Aragog in the Dark Forest
First of all, you will need acromantula, but sadly, neither versions of Aragog are very good, so you have three choices:
1)Use this one which is blocky but better than the 2010 version
2)Use the unrealistic/uneven 2010 version
3)Make a custom version
Use the webbed area in your forest.

22. 4723: Diagon Alley Shops
More spiders will be needed for you acromantula cove. Luckily, old HP sets are littered with them. Your forest should also have bats and black owls. Also unnessesary to sets, but useful in this case.

23. 7947: Prison Tower Rescue
Actually, I am not so fond of two of the aspects of using these as unicorns, first of all, the horn is connected by a helmet. Second, the "unicorn" has a bridle. Optional

Put the remembrall in the Gryffindor Common Room. Put the brooms with the Quidditch match set. Put any custom towers on the side/between OofP and PoA castles.
