1. 8533: Gali
"I suppose that's enough talk of the past. We should start discussing what comes next, yes? For despite all our interesting elemental powers we may have, I expect that our best weapon is our minds."

Toa Mata Gali was the wise and noble Toa Mata of Water. She was gentle and kind, but was also extremely powerful, a side of her personality that she rarely displayed.
Gali, along with the rest of her team, was created by Artakha to awaken the Great Spirit, should the need to do so ever occur.

2. 1390: Maku
"It is good to be on an adventure with you again! I thought Nokama would keep me locked up in the village forever."

Macku was a brave, adventurous Ga-Matoran. She was close friends with Hewkii and often disobeyed the rules of Ga-Koro by sneaking out to visit him.
After being placed in a Matoran Pod, Macku was physically decreased in size and strength.

3. 8543: Nokama
"You are so wise, Gali, yet know so little. You are swimming in my wake, Toa. There is nowhere you can go that I have not traveled before."

As a Turaga of Water, Nokama was the wise and peaceful leader of the Ga-Matoran of Mata Nui. She was known for excessive talking, as well as dislike of compromise.

4. 8550: Gahlok Va
The Gahlok-Va were the Bohrok-Va of Water, assigned with the task of assisting the Gahlok in their mission to "clean" Mata Nui. They moved sluggishly, but were skilled at climbing and swimming.

5. 8562: Gahlok
"The treacherous Gahlok, masters of the flood tide..."

The Gahlok were the Bohrok of Water, assigned with the task of "cleaning" the island of Mata Nui. They were extremely adaptive, never reacting the same way to an attack.

6. 8570: Gali Nuva
"Water. Water soothes and calms and lulls the spirit to sleep. You cannot understand what true power demands."

After the end of the battle in which the Toa Mata managed to defeat the Queens of the Bohrok Swarms, Gali, along with the other Toa in her team, fell into vats of energized protodermis. The mysterious substance transformed them into more powerful Toa, known as Toa Nuva.

7. 8586: Macku
After the defeat of the Bohrok-Kal, Macku, along with the other Matoran of Mata Nui, was rebuilt by the Turaga into a stronger, more agile form.

8. 8602: Nokama
"She had never nursed any dreams of becoming a Toa. She had enjoyed her life as a teacher in Ga-Metru, gaining new wisdom each day and passing it on to others. Her happiest moments had been spent in a classroom or showing her students the ancient carvings at the protodermis fountains. Now that she was a "hero," she was starting to realize what a lonely role it could be."

Once a Ga-Matoran teacher, Nokama was transformed into a Toa of Water. She was the only Toa Metru to fully trust Vakama's strange visions of the Great Disks.

9. 8608: Vhisola

Vhisola was a Ga-Matoran, one of Nokama's former students. She was great friends with her teacher, but became jealous when Nokama became a Toa Metru, believing Nokama would no longer have time for her.

10. 4868: Rahaga Gaaki
"This is a disaster."
"No. This is an opportunity. You must learn to know the difference, Nokama."

Once an elite Toa of Water and a member of Makuta Teridax's Toa Hagah team, Gaaki and her fellow Toa Hagah were transformed by the villainous Roodaka into small, twisted beings with Rahkshi heads, which Roodaka cruelly dubbed "Rahaga".
Gaaki fought the Visorak hordes alongside the Toa Metru/Hordika, and when the Toa transported the Matoran to Mata Nui, she and her team remained behind, to cure the Rahi that had been mutated by Visorak Venom.
Gaaki, along with the other Toa Hagah, was later transformed back to her original Toa form.
