The most pivotal lego sets, those that proved significant in lego history. The term Lego itself is based off the Danish phrase "leg godt'' translated "play well." The Lego group's official motto is "det bedste er ikke for godt" translated as "only the best is good enough."

3. 7101: Lightsaber Duel
The first Star Wars set, the most popular of the lego themes. It is currently 12 years running. This set also marked the beginning of the Lego production of movie themes like Spiderman, Indiana Jones, and Harry Potter. A Steven Spielberg Studio theme was even created. As if this isn't enough, the star wars theme was also the first to be made in to a lego video game.

8. 5986: Amazon Ancient Ruins
The best of the adventure series, also the second theme to include names of minifigures and theme plots(Time Cruisers was the first). Among the hero characters were Harry Cane and Johnny Thunder. Common villains were Sam Sinister and Senor Palimar.

9. 6195: Neptune Discovery Lab
The first of the aquatic themed sets this is in the Aquanaut sub category. Spinoffs include Aquasharks, Hydronauts, and Stingrays in the Aquazone category. Other aquatic inspired themes include AquaRaiders and Atlantis.
