BrickList: 2011 Lego Star Wars Sets: Wave 1
2011 Lego Star Wars Sets: Wave 1
These are all the 2011 Lego Star Wars sets that came out on December 25, 2010. So they didn't come out in 2011, but they're still 2011 sets. I own all of them except the '7930-1: Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship' and '7868-1: Mace Windu's Jedi Starfighter' sets.

1. 7931: T-6 Jedi Shuttle
The '7931-1: T-6 Jedi Shuttle' set is probably the best set on here. It includes Anakins Skywalker (Clone Wars), Obi-Wan Kenobi (Clone Wars), Shaak Ti, and Saesee Tiin minifigs. This isn't movie-accurate, but is actually better than if it were to be movie accurate, because if it were movie-accurate then it would include Savage Opress and exclude Shaak Ti and Saesee Tiin. Since Shaak Ti and Saesee Tiin are both exclusive to this set, it would be sad to see them not be in this, but Savage Opress will be available in the '7957-1: Dathomir Speeder' (coming this summer). So it's a win-win for us Lego fans.
Here's how to get instructions for the T-11 Jedi Striker: Go to www.LEGOclub.com and put in the club code 'STRIKER'. In the bottom left area there's a link. Click on it and wait for the instructions to download. Then, build away.

2. 7930: Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship
The '7930-1: Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship' has got to be one of the most anticipated 2011 sets. It comes with a brand new ship design and three new figs, Aurra Sing, Embo, and Sugi. It also comes with an Elite Assassin Droid, but if Lego wanted to be movie-accurate they would've taken out the Elite Assassin Droid and Aurra Sing and added some Wookies, Ahsoka, and some of those creatures from the Season Finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Season 3. Since I have yet to buy this set I can't give a personal experience about it.

3. 7869: Battle for Geonosis
The '7869-1: Battle for Geonosis' is my favorite set from the 1st wave of 2011. It has an awesome Proton Cannon with two Battle Droid and an awesome Super Battle Droid with Blaster Arm (now I have 4). Luminara has a great design, no flaws there and Captain Rex is superb as always. As an owner of this set, I know that no fan of Star Wars could last without this amazing set. It gives great playability and shows the greatness of 2011's sets.

4. 7868: Mace Windu's Jedi Starfighter
The '7868-1: Mace Windu's Jedi Starfighter' is a very nice store exclusive (probably Wal*Mart). This set includes the minifigs Mace Windu (Clone Wars), R8-B7, TX-20 (Tactical Droid), and two Battle Droids. Mace Windu's Jedi Starfighter has a nice color scheme, but the same design as other Jedi Starfighters. The Droid Speeder is nice and a new design, definitely a good reason to buy this set. The STAPs are the same design, but the more the better. This should be $39.99 USD.

5. 7929: The Battle of Naboo
The '7929-1: The Battle of Naboo' is a great army-builder for a Naboo Battle as the return of Episode I kicks off. The fact that this comes with 8 Battle Droids and 2 Pilot Droids make this a must-have for a growing Droid Army. Jar Jar's redesign is pretty good, as is the Gungan Soldier's. The prices isn't too bad either, in fact two would be a good amount.

6. 7915: Imperial V-wing Starfighter
The '7915-1: Imperial V-wing Starfighter' is an Expanded Universe set as it doesn't appear in any of the Star Wars movies. This is a really cool none-the-less. It has an awesome design and two new minifigs. The wings also turn 45 degrees and the cockpit is easily lifted. It may look a bit ugly but is truly one-of-a-kind.

7. 7913: Clone Trooper Battle Pack
The '7913-1: Clone Trooper Battle Pack' definitely replaces the '8014-1: Clone Walker Battle Pack' with A-grade parts. The four all-new Clones are some of the most-anticipated new figs in 2011 and look amazing holding them up. What seems so amazing is that all you have to pay is $11.99 and you get four customs Clone Troopers. The blaster pistols are really cool, too. The speeder is also the same design as the one in the '7869-1: Battle for Geonosis' execpt for the color scheme.

8. 7914: Mandalorian Battle Pack
The '7914-1: Mandalorian Battle Pack' was the first set I got from this wave (I got it for exactly $8 plus tax). It's got four great Mandalorians (sadly they're all the same) with awesome guns and an agile speeder. Just like the '7913-1: Clone Trooper Battle Pack', all you have to pay is $11.99 (or $8 in my situation) and for a great, small set.
