Classic and new, affordable Lego Star Wars!
This is a list of all the classic vehicles, at least as i see it, from episodes IV-VI. Of course it isn't all of them but a good start! I'm probably not the best reviewer but you'll get the idea! All the sets listed are under 250 USD if you look around. I would love to add Cloud City but don't own it and will not spend the money for that set. This is a great list for a core Lego Star Wars Collection without going broke! Not all the sets are old, but the ships are!! This is part of what makes them affordable and in some ways, better than the older versions.

1. 6210: Jabba's Sail Barge
One of my favorites, They all are, this set was a pleasure to build and great visually for display. Of course, some newer sets have cooler parts, but some may say that takes away from the creativity of Lego. Great Mini-figures as well and from a time when you got many with the sets! And it didn't cost an arm and a leg! This is a great set to play with as well!

2. 10144: Sandcrawler
Again, a favorite that did not use many custom pieces! But used many of them! A little tedious to build the tracks but still a pleasure. Again, they all are, And it has Jawa'! A great cast of figures as well, including the only Uncle Owen! The vehicle is nothing short of impressive and I am struggling not to give it power!! One of the best for sure and I would recommend this one to all!

3. 6211: Imperial Star Destroyer
I have to say this is my favorite set. I love the ships though and will never forget this one from episode IV in the theater! A great build and a solid one for its size! Lots going on in there and on the bridge! A fun set all around and is on the top shelf! Again, one all should own!
Note that all listed so far do not cost in the four digit range...

4. 6212: X-wing Fighter
The X-wing is just cool and fun to build and fly when completed! I think they could have done a little better job with the landing gear on this one but still great none the less. The mechanism works great and is a great ship to display!

5. 7965: Millennium Falcon
One of the newer sets still available. It is far superior to all the older versions except the UCS. Though, this one, you can play with. Better build than the previous and more figures. A great display piece as well as play piece. Worth every penny! One of my favs for sure!

6. 8038: The Battle of Endor
Another instant classic! Ewoks! Awesome set and a fairly easy build with lots of playability! Lots of great figures and to me, that is what makes this set...and the AT-AT! Very cool and again, a nice display !

7. 8089: Hoth Wampa Cave
A great display set and who doesn't remember the Wompa! All collectors have to have the figures! The snow speeder is very cool. All was an easy build! A classic scene for every Star Wars Lego fan!

8. 8092: Luke's Landspeeder
One of the first things I wanted after seeing the movie was a speeder. They did a great job with this set and again had plenty of figures given its size. Great display piece and play-ability. Move along, move along...

9. 8097: Slave I
Love this ship! Very usable and lots of detail. Lots of places to hide things and has the Carbonite Han! Lots of great figures as well and worth every penny! A great build!

10. 10198: Tantive IV
Very detailed and a fun build! This is one of the best to display. I created my own retractable landing gear for mine. An awesome ship and the first ever to appear in the films! Again, every collector should have this ship!

11. 9492: TIE Fighter
You can't have an X-Wing without the Tie Fighter! This was a fun build as well because it was unique. It really took some thought to design this one. Again, a fun ship and great display piece!

12. 9516: Jabba's Palace
I have been waiting for this one for some time and could be my favorite set when the Rancor Pit comes out! The best Minifigs yet! Great detail and a very sturdy and fun build. Some would say overpriced but the building and figures make up for it and I would not hesitate to get one if you like the first movies! A great build and great display! One of the best sets yet! Great job Lego!

13. 9495: Gold Leader's Y-wing Starfighter
Again, a very cool ship with lots of detail included! Everyone needs a bomber on hand! Great figures and a fun and sturdy build! A must have for any collector! This set has a few parts not found in any other set. This one was worth the money!

14. 9490: Droid Escape
A fairly small set with huge memories! Love the new design for 3PO! The sand bike and the sand troopers are nothing short of awesome! The figures alone are worth the 25 bucks! Of course its an easy build but fun anyway and who can't afford this one!

15. 7956: Ewok Attack
My wife loved the Ewoks so this is why i got this set. Easy build and I love the trees and the figures. This set displays well and I find myself wishing lego would do some sort of a forest...

16. 9489: Endor Rebel Trooper & Imperial Trooper Battle Pack
This set displays well with the Ewok Attack set. An easy build and again, the figures keep getting better and better! Very inexpensive and a great display!
