BrickList: LEGO Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge

LEGO Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge

The much-anticipated sequel to the classic PC videogame, LEGO Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge allows players to visit other islands such as Castle Island and Adventurers' Island, further exploring the boundless limits of the LEGO Universe. Released in 2001, LEGO Island 2 promotes the LEGO City Center, Knights' Kingdom, and Adventurers lines, as well as a number of appearances from other LEGO themes.

Created by SJPlego. Last updated on 12 Oct 2012.

1. 5731: LEGO Island

An instant classic, LEGO Island is LEGO's first videogame.

As a direct sequel to LEGO Island, LEGO Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge features the return of LEGO Island and many of its residents.

Pepper Roni, slightly older and with a redesigned outfit, returns as a playable character. He retains his ability to change hats and scenery, but now can also throw pizzas to disable Brickster-Bots.

Mama and Papa Brickolini return as NPCs. They reside at the Brickolini's Pizzeria, where they send Pepper Roni on a pizza delivery. Later on, they are kidnapped by the Brickster and brought to his own pizzeria at OGEL Island, where they work with Pepper Roni in the "Make-A-D-Pizza" minigame.

Nick and Laura Brick return as NPCs. They reside at the Command Post Central, and Pepper Roni must deliver a pizza to Nick Brick and receive some bricks from Laura Brick. Later, Nick Brick allows Pepper Roni to fly the police helicopter to Adventurers' Island.

Other NPCs return as LEGO Island citizens, and Pepper Roni must deliver pizzas to them. Nubby Stevens and Nancy Nubbins still work at the Octan Gas Station. Snap Lockitt, Red Greenbase, and Rhoda Hogg party all day at the party house. Valerie Stubbins hangs out at the Emergency Response Center. Dr. Clickitt still works at the Medical Center. Ed Mail delivers mail around the island, but often hangs out with M.P. Post at the Super 2 Store. D.J. Radio (seen in physical form for the first time) works at the L.E.G.O. Radio Station and helps Pepper defeat the Brickster-Bots.

While LEGO Island itself received a overhaul in LEGO Island 2, with slightly different geography and many buildings redesigned, the Information Center, one of LEGO Island's most iconic buildings, remains mostly the same in appearance, with very little differences in aesthetics. At the Information Center, players can view the LEGO Island map and see animations of all its civilians.

2. 2181: Infomaniac

The Infomaniac is a rare minifigure packaged with early copies of LEGO Island.

The Infomaniac returns as players' guide to LEGO Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge. In addition to providing exposition to the game's storyline, the Infomaniac can be contacted at any time through Pepper's headset, which will project a hologram of the Infomaniac and allow players to receive hints on what to do next. In "Whack-A-Bot", players be careful not to accidentally hit the Infomaniac with a mallet.

5. 6456: Mission Control

At Mission Control, Hallie Comet blasts off in a space shuttle.

The Mission Control space station can be found on the summit of Space Mountain. Technician Bob works here, and Pepper Roni must go to Mission Control to access the "Centrifuge" and "Parachute Practice" minigames, in order to train as an astronaut before going to OGEL Island.

After completing his astronaut training, Pepper Roni takes off in the space shuttle. Pepper Roni must pilot the space shuttle through an asteroid field in "Asteroids", and then ejects himself from the space shuttle at the start of "Parachute Onto OGEL".

Technician Bob is a citizen of LEGO Island who works at Mission Control. Pepper Roni must deliver a pizza to Technician Bob at the beginning of the game. Later, Technician Bob oversees Pepper Roni's astronaut training in the "Centrifuge" and "Parachute Training" minigames, and contacts Pepper Roni at the start of the "Parachute Onto OGEL" minigame to inform him that the Brickster stole the space shuttle's landing gear.

Although LEGO Island's Octan Gas Station is very different from the Gas N' Wash Express in design, the fuel pumps are modified versions of the Gas N' Wash Express's fuel pumps. Unlike the first LEGO Island game, however, these fuel pumps serve no purpose in gameplay and are purely aesthetic.

8. 5920: Island Racer

The Island Racer is the super-fast car of Sam Sinister.

Three Island Racers can be found on LEGO Island, parked at Rich Picking's house, Jack O'Trades's store, and the Octan Gas Station. While Pepper Roni is delivering pizzas, Nubby Stevens drives one of the Island Racers around the island before bringing it in to the Octan Gas Station to repair it. Pepper Roni can drive any Island Racer around LEGO Island.

One Island Racer, known as the Desert Speedster, is owned by Dr. Kilroy and can be found parked in the Pyramid Area of Adventurers' Island. After completing the "Matching Mummies" minigame, Dr. Kilroy loans the Desert Speedster to Pepper Roni, allowing him to drive to the Oasis in the "Desert Speedster" minigame.

9. 6479: Emergency Response Center

The Emergency Response Center is the Res-Q Team's base of operations.

The Emergency Response Center replaces the Beach Lookout from LEGO Island. This is where Valerie Stubbins usually hangs out. When the Brickster deconstructs LEGO Island, the Emergency Response Center is one of the first buildings to be reconstructed. After completing the "Whack-A-Bot" minigame, the Emergency Response Center receives a transmission from Castle Island, informing players that the island's bridge has been destroyed by the Brickster.

The Res-Q speedboat and Res-Q dinghy can both be found docked at the Emergency Response Center. Pepper Roni can drive either vehicle around the Phanta Sea and travel to Castle Island. However, in the game's main story, Pepper Roni must use the speedboat to travel to Castle Island, as the dinghy disappears until the Brickster is recaptured.

The Res-Q helicopter can be found on the landing pad next to the Emergency Response Center. Pepper Roni can fly the helicopter around LEGO Island, as well as return to Adventurers' Island after catching the Brickster.

11. 6332: Command Post Central

Command Post Central is the main headquarters of the police department.

Command Post Central replaces the Metro PD Station as the main headquarters of the LEGO Island Police Department. This is where Nick Brick and Laura Brick usually hang out. Although the Command Post Central is deconstructed by the Brickster, it is reconstructed shortly before traveling to Adventurers' Island.

Likewise, the Command Post Central jail replaces the Metro PD Station jail to serve as the Brickster's cell. Early in the game, the Brickster breaks free from the jail. After returning from Adventurers' Island, Pepper Roni must defeat a blue Brickster-Bot hiding near the reconstructed jail.

The chopper can be found on the landing pad next to the Command Post Central jail. Pepper Roni can fly the helicopter around LEGO Island. After the Command Post Central is reconstructed, Nick Brick tells Pepper Roni to fly the police helicopter to Adventurers' Island, where Pepper Roni lands the chopper at a landing pad next to an Adventurers outpost.

The police car can be found parked at the Command Post Central. Pepper Roni can drive the police car around LEGO Island.

12. 3925: Brickster Key Chain

The Brickster is a dirty trickster and a deranged criminal obsessed with deconstruction.

The Brickster returns as LEGO Island 2's main villain. The plot revolves around catching the Brickster after he breaks free of jail once again, this time stealing the Constructopedia and tearing out its pages to deconstruct LEGO Island. As Pepper Roni, players follow the Brickster to Castle Island and Adventurers' Island before finally ascending the Brickster's Palace on OGEL Island for a final showdown.

13. 6098: King Leo's Castle

King Leo's Castle is the main fortress of the Lion Knights.

King Leo's Castle can be found on the Lions' half of Castle Island. There, Pepper Roni asks a Lion Knight for the Bulls' flag, which is demanded in return for a Constructopedia page.

The Bulls' cannon plays an important role in the "Raging Bull" minigame. During this minigame, the Bulls' castle is defended by nine of these cannons, which Cedric the Bull fires upon Pepper Roni. However, four more cannons can be found outside the Bulls' castle and must be used to destroy Cedric's cannons. However, if all four of Pepper's cannons are destroyed, players must restart the minigame.

King Leo and Queen Leonora sit upon their thrones under a canopy and watch Pepper Roni and the Dark Knight during the "Jousting" minigame, and then present the Bulls' flag to Pepper Roni as a reward. After completing "Brick Dive", Princess Storm crosses over into the Bulls' territory and battles Gilbert the Bad and Weezil, while Richard the Strong defends King Leo's Castle from a group of invading Bull Knights.

On Castle Island, the Bulls have their own castle, which is modeled after King Leo's Castle. It is smaller and less impressive than the original King Leo's Castle, as the Bulls' castle has fewer towers, bull sculptures in place of lion heads, and red instead of blue. Pepper Roni goes to the Bulls' castle to collect a Constructopedia page in exchange for the Bulls' flag, but ultimately ends up battling Cedric the Bull in "Raging Bull".

14. 6096: Bull's Attack

The Bulls prepare an attack upon King Leo's Castle.

The Bulls' siege wagon can be found on the Lions' half of Castle Island, just outside King Leo's Castle. It appears to have been captured by the Lion Knights, as it is flying the Bulls' flag that has been captured. After completing the "Jousting" minigame, Pepper Roni is rewarded the Bulls' flag from the siege wagon.

The Bulls' large catapult, which now has six wheels like the siege wagon, sits outside the Bulls' castle. After beating "Raging Bull", Cedric the Bull accidentally falls onto the catapult and is sent flying off Castle Island.

Gilbert the Bad and Weezil both can be found on the Bull's half of Castle Island. After completing the "Brick Dive" minigame, the two Bull Knights perpetually battle Princess Storm and an unnamed Lion Knight.

Cedric the Bull has allied with the Brickster and, although the Bulls intend to keep their word and give Pepper Roni their Constructopedia page after he brings them back their flag, steals the Constructopedia page and engages Pepper Roni in battle. In "Raging Bull", Cedric the Bull fires cannonballs at Pepper Roni, who must demolish all of Cedric's cannons by firing his own cannonballs. After being defeated, Cedric the Bull falls on a catapult and is sent flying out of sight.

Two royal figures watch as an exciting Knight's Joust takes place.

On Castle Island, the Knight's Joust spectator canopy can be found on the Lions' half of the island. There, Pepper Roni can find and talk to King Leo and Queen Leonora. During the "Jousting" minigame, King Leo and Queen Leonora watch the joust between Pepper Roni and the Dark Knight from their thrones under the canopy. Another canopy, although lacking the thrones, sits across from the Lions' canopy during the minigame and hosts what appears to be the king and queen of the Bulls.

A giant black octopus with bright green eyes, much like the one included in this set, appears as a massive obstacle during the "Brick Dive" minigame. The octopus sits at the bottom of the sea, and players must carefully avoid its tentacles while retrieving the brick and the Constructopedia page that the octopus guards.

Stingrays and a swordfish also appear during the "Brick Dive" minigame. The stingrays electrocute Pepper Roni on contact and must be avoided, while the swordfish swims near the giant octopus and does not affect gameplay.

The Spider's Secret shrine is incorporated into the design of an Amazonian temple, which can be seen in the jungles of Adventurers' Island while flying a helicopter or pterodactyl over Adventurers' Island. However, as players cannot visit this temple on foot, it has no impact on gameplay and is merely for aesthetic purposes. 19. 5976: River Expedition

The Adventurers go on a River Expedition to a mysterious cave.

The River Expedition cave mouth is incorporated into the design of an Amazonian temple, which can be seen in the jungles of Adventurers' Island while flying a helicopter or pterodactyl over Adventurers' Island. However, as players cannot visit this temple on foot, it has no impact on gameplay and is merely for aesthetic purposes. In "Bi-Plane", the entrance to a Rock Monster cave also uses the design of the River Expedition cave mouth.

Johnny Thunder and Dr. Kilroy help Pepper Roni during his stay on Adventurers' Island. Johnny Thunder meets Pepper at the Adventurers outpost and enlists his help in "Snake Pursuit". Dr. Kilroy joins the group at the Pyramid Area, and is revealed to be a colleague of the Infomaniac. In the desert, Dr. Kilroy suffers from heat exposure, setting the stage for the "Bi-Plane" minigame. Once they arrive at the jungle, Dr. Kilroy speaks to a T-Rex and tells Pepper Roni that the dinosaurs are held prisoner at Sam Sinister's Main Camp, setting the stage for "T-Rex Racing" and "Mr. Hates' Camp".

Monkeys are a constant nuisance during the "Bi-Plane" minigame, where they hang out on trees and vines and pelt Pepper Roni's Bi-Wing Baron with melons. However, the monkeys can be quelled by shooting bananas at them, which counts towards players' total score for the minigame.

Achu lives in a village near the Adventurers' jungle outpost. After completing "Mr. Hates' Camp", Achu and his TumTum tribesmen emerge from the village and celebrate by dancing. If Pepper Roni talks to Achu, he responds with unintelligible sound effects.

20. 5978: Sphinx Secret Surprise

The Adventurers discover a secret surprise at the Sphinx.

The Sphinx itself can be seen in the background at the start of "Snake Pursuit", and another Sphinx is seen about midway through the minigame. However, they are merely aesthetic details and have no involvement in gameplay.

A much larger version of the Sphinx, with a tan and blue color scheme, can be found in the Pyramid Area, serving as the lair of the gem-stealing snakes. Pepper Roni must enter the Sphinx and take back the gems in "Whack-A-Snake".

The Desert Scorpion can be found in the Adventurers' Island desert. In "Snake Pursuit", Johnny Thunder and Pippin Reed drive the Desert Scorpion to the Pyramid Area, while Pepper Roni fires a mounted coconut cannon to keep the gem-stealing snakes at bay.

The Temple of Anubis appears as the Tomb of the Matching Mummies. In "Matching Mummies", Pepper Roni must enter the ruins, match the hieroglyphics of twelve sarcophagi, and retrieve a Constructopedia page from a boulder trap.

The entrance to the Temple of Anubis is also used as a piece of scenery at the start of "Desert Speedster".

In "Mr. Hates' Camp", Pepper Roni pilots a recolored version of Harry Cane's hot air balloon, using a winch and cable to free the captured dinosaurs and ultimately dropping sandbags on Sam Sinister. After returning from Adventurers' Island, Harry Cane's hot air balloon can be found on LEGO Island. In "Parachute Training", the hot air balloon acts as an obstacle for the gold hoop.

22. 2996: Adventurers Tomb

Slyboots encounters the mummy of Pharaoh Hotep III at the Adventurers Tomb.

The Adventurers Tomb can be found in the Pyramid Area, acting as a piece of scenery and having no impact on gameplay. However, it is worth noting that behind the Adventurers Tomb is a secret area featuring a hallway and a chamber with an open sarcophagus, which can only be seen by clipping the camera through the terrain and only be accessed through hacking the game, suggesting that the Adventurers Tomb might have once been intended to be more than a mere piece of scenery.

Other Adventurers Tombs, using red bricks in place of blue bricks, can be seen as scenery throughout the "Desert Speedster" minigame. However, they also serve as obstacles, and Pepper Roni must be careful not to crash into any of them or risk losing precious time.

24. 5708: LEGO Rock Raiders

LEGO Rock Raiders is LEGO's first real-time strategy game.

Slimy Slugs, which originated in this game, make appearances throughout LEGO Island 2. In "Fishing", miniature Slimy Slugs are used by the Old Fisherman and Pepper Roni as fish bait. On OGEL Island, full-size Slimy Slugs slither around the island and repel Pepper Roni if he comes too close.

26. 5935: Island Hopper

The Island Hopper is a large plane piloted by Pippin Reed.

The Island Hopper can be found landed in the sea next to an Adventurers outpost in the desert. In the "Bi-Plane" minigame, Johnny Thunder, Pippin Reed, and Dr. Kilroy fly the Island Hopper through the jungles of Adventurers' Island, guiding Pepper Roni along the way. After completing "Bi-Plane", the Island Hopper can be found landed in a small pool of water next to an Adventurers outpost in the jungle. In "Parachute Training", the Island Hopper acts as an obstacle for the silver hoop.

Miss Pippin Reed, whose name is misspelled as "Pippin Read", helps Pepper Roni during his stay on Adventurers' Island, enlisting his help in "Snake Pursuit" and offering to draw a sign for Pepper in "Desert Speedster".

Pterodactyls can be seen flying around Adventurers' Island. When flying a helicopter over Adventurers' Island, players can see a pterodactyl flying near the crater of a volcano. A pterodactyl flies around aimlessly during "Mr. Hates' Camp". After the dinosaurs are rescued, Pepper Roni can fly a pterodactyl back to LEGO Island, where it will perch atop Space Mountain and can be flown again at any time. Other pterodactyls serve as an obstacle for the bronze loop in "Parachute Training".

27. 4950: The Loader-Dozer

The Loader-Dozer was the Rock Raiders' massive vehicle for cleaning up rubble.

Rock Monsters are enemies that can be found in LEGO Island 2. In "Bi-Plane", Pepper Roni flies through two caves inhabited by Rock Monsters, who react to Pepper's presence by throwing boulders at his Bi-Wing Baron, although they can be defeated by shooting bananas at them. In "Parachute Onto OGEL", some of the asteroids orbiting OGEL Island are actually hibernating Rock Monsters that wake up as Pepper Roni approaches, acting as obstacles.

Energy Crystals are a collectible item on OGEL Island, used to boost players' score for OGEL Island.

29. 5975: T-Rex Transport

The T-Rex Transport consisted of a number of vehicles used by the Adventurers to transport dinosaurs.

A T-Rex informs Dr. Kilroy that its fellow dinosaurs have been captured by Sam Sinister and held prisoner at the Main Camp. Pepper Roni rides the T-Rex to the Main Camp in "T-Rex Racing", and rescues another T-Rex from its cage in "Mr. Hates' Camp". Both T-Rexes can be found at the Adventurers' jungle outpost after completing "Mr. Hates' Camp".

Six baby T-Rexes can be seen in the last jungle segment of "T-Rex Racing". Pepper Roni also rescues five more baby T-Rexes from their pen in "Mr. Hates' Camp", and they can be seen with other dinosaurs back at the jungle outpost.

Multiple triceratops, much like the one included in this set, can be seen in the volcanic section of "T-Rex Racing". Two more triceratops must be rescued from Sam Sinister in "Mr. Hates' Camp", and they can be found free at the Adventurers' outpost.

30. 5955: All Terrain Trapper

The All Terrain Trapper is a vehicle used by Sam Sinister and Mr. Cunningham to capture dinosaurs,

Multiple stegosauruses, physically identical to the one included in this set, can be seen throughout the "T-Rex Racing" minigame. Three more stegosauruses must be freed from Sam Sinister's cages in "Mr. Hates' Camp" and can be found celebrating with other dinosaurs back at the Adventurers' jungle outpost.

Sam Sinister, here referred to by his United Kingdom name "Mr. Hates", has allied with the Brickster and has taken a Constructopedia page, challenging Pepper Roni to a battle to get it back. Sam Sinister has also captured many dinosaurs and is holding them prisoner in the main camp. During "Mr. Hates' Camp", Sam Sinister rides a brontosaurus and feeds it Papa Brickolini's Sizzling Tongue-Numbing Hot Pizzas to cause it to breathe fire at Pepper's hot air balloon. After freeing all his dinosaurs, Pepper Roni drops sandbags on Sam Sinister until he falls out of his saddle, at which point Sam Sinister surrenders the Constructopedia page.
