BrickList: Overpriced Lego 2013 Wave One
Overpriced Lego 2013 Wave One
A selection of 2013 Lego models that I consider over-priced for whats included [United Kingdom].

1. 60000: Fire Motorcycle
A set clearly showing gradual price inflation. £4.99 for a tiny motorcycle, figure and small burning recycle can seems quite a lot especially seeing that these extra small sets costed just £3.99 last year and an even cheaper £2.99 four years ago.

3. 60008: Museum Break-in
Though an excellent set, the apparent price tag of £49.99 is too steep for my likings for what is included. I think £39.99 would be a much better price tag for a set of this size.

4. 60009: Helicopter Arrest
Another set that looks promising however judging by the size and number of pieces of this model, I consider £40 too much. This should really cost £29.99 for what the volume of pieces and size the set includes.

5. 60016: Tanker Truck
Judging by the 2010 version which was a third bigger but yet cost £3 less gives me a slight bitter taste in my mouth of how worser value this set is and yet it appears an improvement. £14.99 would be a much more welcoming price tag.

6. 60017: Flatbed Truck
Just like the Tanker Truck, This is an excellent looking city vehicle but at £17.99 I find the cost of it unjustifiable and therefore consider £14.99 too be a more appropriate price.

7. 70000: Razcal’s Glider
Considering this is the smallest playset of the whole range, I consider £7.99 to be a bit steep and also appearing to be a price hike of previous similar sized sets. I would consider £5.99 to be a much better price.

8. 70001: Crawley’s Claw Ripper
For £12.99, the set seems rather small in size, I think £8.99-£9.99 would be a better price.

9. 70003: Eris' Eagle Interceptor
Perhaps the best looking Chima set of the first half of 2013. However for a cost of £29.99 and how large the set is, it's too much money for what is there especially seeing similar sized sets costing £24.99 in 2012 only £19.99 and just four years ago [a 50% increase] which is quite unjustifiable. £24.99 would be a much more welcoming price.

10. 70004: Wakz' Pack Tracker
This set has similar problems to the Eagle Interceptor. As good as the set seems, £29.99 for a medium sized model which seems to have jumped by £10 in the last four years is unjustifiable and should rightfully be £24.99.

11. 70005: Laval’s Royal Fighter
Though perhaps a little more reasonable than some of the other sets, £39.99 for a fairly big tank vehicle just seems a bit too much and would be better positioned at a retail price of £34.99.

12. 70006: Cragger’s Command Ship
The biggest Chima set in both size and being overpriced. For a £69.99 set, the contents provided for such a high price tag is quite ludicrous seeing it being a similar size to such 2012 sets as the Ghost Train and Ultra Sonic Raider which were already overpriced then but being another £10 overpriced on top of them. This set is far too much and needs to be £49.99 to retain a relevant price figure.

13. 70011: Eagles' Castle
Oh Dear, Chima appears to be a very over priced theme in 2013 [ for the first wave at least] and £34.99 for a medium sized model is certainly a bit much for what's included in the price.

14. 70012: Razar’s CHI Raider
I don't know why Chima is so overpriced, it's almost like buying Star Wars for what's included and this set at £39.99 is just too much and would be better placed at a cost of £29.99.

15. 70013: Equila's Ultra Striker
For £39.99, the set is just too small and also seeing how many pieces you get too it's quite preposterous that such a cost is being charged for a medium sized model. £29.99 would be a much better price for this model.

16. 70500: Kai's Fire Mech
Just like the Ravenglider, this set is just too expensive at £7.99 and should really be £5.99 RRP.

17. 70501: Warrior Bike
At £17.99 for a set such a size, I find it very expensive consider that it has a similar scale to the 2012 Tread Cycle set and I think it should cost £14.99 instead.

18. 70505: Temple of Light
For £59.99, this set is big, but it's not that big especially seeing that it's quite a bit smaller than such sets as Destiny's Bounty but is yet slightly larger in size. I think this should have cost £49.99.

19. 75003: A-wing Starfighter
Though it's an iconic set, I find £24.99 to be too much for the asking cost seeing how small this set actually is and that a previous carnation of this model cost just £9.99 seven years ago [a 150% price hike] which is absolutely crazy even though Star Wars is quite a bit more expensive since previous years. £19.99 would be a much more appropriate price.

20. 75005: Rancor Pit
Although it's a very sought-after Lego set many fans seem to dwell over, I find the £59.99 asking completely unacceptable when you're only receiving under 400 pieces and a model that's slightly smaller than the 2012 Tie Fighter which at £10 less was already quite over priced. This set should be £39.99 [£49.99 if you're pushing it] as it the cost is unjustifiable.

21. 75013: Umbaran MHC (Mobile Heavy Cannon)
I think for a set that's not a major part of Star Wars, isn't too big in size but yet cost's quite a lot, it is too much and should actually cost £39.99.
