A year of sets - 2012
This will be my third annual list of the sets I've picked up this past year. This is an enjoyable process for me as I can reflect upon the year that was and see how my collection has grown.
With the additions of the Lord of the Rings, DC and Marvel themes, an alternate title to this year's list could be "the year my wallet screamed!" The following list is presented in chronological order without listing duplicate purchases. It has been a good year.

1. 6860: The Batcave
When the first series of Batman sets came out a few years ago, I was not able to purchase many of them due to monitary reasons. The reimagining of these sets has allowed me a second chance, one that I could not pass up.

I really liked this set, probably one of the best of the year for me. Not only does it have good figs and a nice look in representing the building, but I appreciated the forthought that went into it's connection with the 2013 Rancor set. I know they plan series out with some corresponding with others, but it was kind of nice to see it in action so to speak.

Interesting that this did not have the same 'preview set'-type labelling as did the Mirkwood set as it [spoiler alert] did not appear in the movie. No bother. Got two of these for free so I'm not too concerned about it.

Another good Hobbit set and my last set of the year.
It was a good year with (it seems) 139 sets added to the collection. I've already got a number on the wanted list for next year, so we'll have to see how that pans out.
