1. 10233: Horizon Express
A great kick off to the year exclusive wise. The set delivers value and simplicity while having a clever design of each element and a nice use of interior as well.

2. 10937: Batman: Arkham Asylum Breakout
The largest super hero set released yet. The unique selection of heroes and villains in this set plus the overall design of the building giving a gothic and slightly run down feel make this set one of the must haves for 2013 which is also a great improvement from the first carnation of the Arkham Asylum.

3. 31004: Fierce Flyer
Maybe it's just me but Creator seems to have released one it's best early year waves for some time and this model and no exception. Although there are no mini figures included and also few [if any] new or interesting parts, the model is excellently designed and depicts a lego eagle model very well. The model is also rather reasonable price wise [ unlike a number of other 2013 sets] and is definitely one to buy first if you're into or getting in to Creator.

4. 31009: Small Cottage
Perhaps the most requested Creator set of 2013 wave [by most fans]. The set just like the Fierce Flier is simple with few [if any] new parts but simplicity wise pulls off the role it was intended for, a bright, simplistic but greatly detailed lego cottage house with a few accessories and for £19.99 is quite reasonable.

5. 60008: Museum Break-in
Unless you're lacking a fire and/or Police department in your lego city/collection, this is one of the few wave one 2013 City sets that is particularly interesting. Though this also falls in the City Police line, this set contains what could be the first ever lego museum ever made [at least in lego town/city] and has many clever details inside including a humerous depication of the girl with a pearl ear ring portrait [ in lego form] as well as a great selection of designed vehicles, a light brick and several swat based police officers. This is also a great replacement model for the also awesome bank raid set from 2011.

6. 60009: Helicopter Arrest
Although this falls in to the Police category [like what seems to be half of city sets these days], the set's appearance of a run down warehouse/ office makes it a great addition to a lego city as well as the orange pick-up truck too. The helicopter also has a unique and compact design too.

7. 60016: Tanker Truck
Lego city is releasing a great range of medium sized vehicles at the moment and the tanker truck continues this with it's excellent exterior design throughout.

8. 60017: Flatbed Truck
A great designed truck which also uses new techniques and pieces during the build as well as including a nicely coloured car as well. The set also appears a big improvement from the last tow truck style vehicle which came out back in 2009.

9. 60018: Cement Mixer
It's been nearly six years since the last Cement Mixer and lego have now released latest model which unlike Police and Fire stations and the like has received a nicely spaced gap. This model upstages the also awesome 2007 model with it's beautiful yellow colour scheme, improved cement releasing feature and also the fact the cab lifts to reveal a detailed engine.

10. 70000: Razcal’s Glider
The smallest and cheapest Chima set available. The model includes a awesome designed figure packed with detail and also a small vehicle. Great for collectors who don't intend on buying all the range or are unsure of buying any to begin with.

11. 70003: Eris' Eagle Interceptor
Arguably the best Chima set of the first half of 2013. The main vehicle of the set is cleverly designed to look like an eagle [ in a different way to 31004] and includes a great range of play features too. there are also three excellent figures which are highly detailed plus a small flying vehicle for the ravens to use giving the set a much higher usage of playability as a stand alone set. This is another set which is also best for first time theme buyers due to it's range in the set.

12. 70004: Wakz' Pack Tracker
A very well designed set that depicts a wolflike form very well. The figures are excellently detailed and there is a good proportion of play features too.

13. 70006: Cragger’s Command Ship
Though at first, this set looked uncertain, the set's design of a crocodile creature highly improves the set's appeal and points which include the opening jaws at the front and the tail at the end as well. The high usage of playability in the set plus awesome mini figures also greatly help the model too.

14. 70500: Kai's Fire Mech
The smallest Ninjago set and the cheapest way of buying the red Ninja. The design of a small red mech is also nicely designed too.

15. 70503: The Golden Dragon

16. 70504: Garmatron
An excellently designed Ninjago vehicle which it's treads oprate smoothly and also includes some unique figures to the set too plus a hidden jail cell in the vehicle too.

17. 70505: Temple of Light
A finely designed medium sized temple which includes a great range of play features and swords too. This also includes a nicely designed gold battle mech as well as Sensei Wu and another golden Ninja.

18. 71000: Cyclops
First ever Lego Cyclops designed which comes with several facial expressions and lots of detail and a sharp mallet.

A figure that hasn't been done before. Instead of having a minifigure head, this figure includes a robot head. It's neatly designed torso piece and helmet also make it must have minifigure.

26. 71000: Mr. Good and Evil
Something that has never been done before in Lego form, a character who has two halves. The uniqueness of this alone is why this is considered one of the best sets of 2013 wave 1.

A great accompaniment to the series 3 elf. This figure also comes with a beautiful new hair piece and torso and shield design as well.

28. 75001: Republic Troopers vs. Sith Troopers
Maybe it's me but the clone trooper battle packs don't seem to be as interesting as they used to be. This one unlike the other 2013 battle pack stands it ground with the unique Sith Troopers in the set and the new unique designed clone helmets and printed torsos too. The mini vehicle is also a nice little addition to the battle pack too.

29. 75002: AT-RT
One that is great for army building and includes a great designed clone trooper. It's also the cheapest of buying Yoda as well.

An excellent sequel set to the 2012 Jabba's Palace. This is the first ever Lego Star Wars Rancor Pit ever made and features the brand new Rancor Figure as well. A great add on to the Jabbas Palace as it fits below.
