BrickList: 5 ridiculously expensive LEGO SW sets
5 ridiculously expensive LEGO SW sets
Rip-off sets that LEGO foolishly overpriced to try and make profit off of. Since LEGO currently overprices about every Star Wars set, I chose this theme.

1. 10179: Ultimate Collector's Millennium Falcon
THE most expensive set that LEGO has ever produced. Very fragile (from what I hear) and only contains 5 minifigs, 1 for every $100!!! It is the only set that is proportional to the movies, but for $500??

2. 7749: Echo Base
$24.99 for a turret a tauntaun, and 5 people. The minifigures I can handle but what I cannot handle is the price-to-piece ratio. 155 total pieces for $25!!!

3. 8087: TIE Defender
Oh my goodness did LEGO mess up on this one. They think that I'm going to pay $50 for a ship that I never saw in the movies, a stormtrooper which I can get for $2 off ebay, and a Tie Pilot (Very Nice though)?? Another stinky price-to-piece ratio of 304 pieces for $50. Nice Try LEGO.

4. 7778: Midi-scale Millennium Falcon
I actually received this set for Christmas and I loved it. What I didn't love is the fact that LEGO ripped of my grandparents of their money. $40 for an 8-inch ship with no minifigs? Thanks for the details LEGO, but I'm glad that I didn't buy this set with my own money!

5. 8039: Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser
This is basically a replica of the Imperial Star Destroyer that LEGO put out long ago, only it's $20 higher and contains 4 people instead of 8. This set is very small though, from what I saw at a TRU display. I can't imagine fitting 4 more people in there. Great Job, LEGO!!
