The only reason why this set did not get 5 was because my brother own it not me! The model was called Wrecker in the U.K and the tow hinch is actually the same one as on the tow truck of the fabulaland garage I once had.
so as not to confuse the other readers. the auto service label is NOT A STICKER. it's a printed brick, which is one of the reasons why I rate this set high. the road signs are also printed.got to buy back this set, still lovin' it after all these years.
together with my hook and haul wrecker, the rescue rig completed my vehicle emergency repair set. the hook here is better than the wrecker since it has a direct connector to the towed vehicle, though it makes my wrecker look more like a monster truck.could've used a repairman minifig as well aside from the driver. i'll need to get this back from my neighbor (who borrowed it from me 14 years ago!)
Wow, what can I say? This is THE set that started it for me. I remember my dad buying it for me when I was around the age of 4 and I never stopped since! I absolutely loved the big rig look of it- the big grill, the light pieces, the smokestacks, the cool driver, the hazard signs and the wrench and the hammer. I absolutely loved towing my cars around, especially when I bought LEGO racecars. An absolute gem. I give it a 5, a perfect set.
