The offer has started! If you're in the USA or Canada, receive an exclusive limited edition LEGO Star Wars poster - one of 15,000 - with any purchase on May 3rd and 4th only.
You'll also be entered into a draw to win a UCS Millennium Falcon but if you can't wait to find out if you've won, the UCS MF is 25% off and priced at $375 for a limited time, so now would be a good time to buy one.
Click on the image and place your order today!
Update 5th May: The poster offer has ended but the MF is still $375 so it's not too late to place your order for that.

Rob W has sent news of a new Japanese 'Clickbrick' (the name of the LEGO brand stores in Japan, I believe) catalogue which lists three previously unknown sets:
Update: scans of the catalogue are available at http://legojapan.seesaa.net/, 5 pages: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5. Unfortunately the Tantive IV is not shown.

Regular Brickset visitors will know what's about to happen in 'space' but in case you need any clues head over to the new Space microsite at LEGO.com!
Perhaps the site's appearance signals the imminent arrival of the sets in question :-)

Site update Posted by Huw, May 16 2009 4:53AM
It's been a quiet week for news so I thought I'd launch a new feature to give you something to play with: set notes. When you're logged in you'll see a small icon in the 'collection' column of search results. Click on it to add a note about the set. It's as simple as that! You can also view and edit your note on the set detail pages and notes are included when you export your collection. Notes are saved independently to your collection so you can record notes about any set whether you own or want it, or not.
There're a couple of notes-related tweaks and features I still intend to add but hopefully you'll find what's there aready of use.
As usual, LMKWYT. Thanks to Jeff M for the idea!

Miscellaneous news Posted by Huw, May 17 2009 2:17PM
Many of the summer releases are now available for order at the Toys R Us website in the USA including new Agents, City, Power Miners and Space Police 3. We didn't previously have non-watermarked images of the 2009 Agents sets so, for your convenience, I've added them to Brickset :-)
(Thanks robjc)

Miscellaneous news Posted by bluemoose, May 20 2009 4:16PM
It looks like Space Police III sets are now starting to appear in-store; Iain Adams reports finding a couple of the smaller 'Impulse' sets in Globus (Zürich) last weekend, and reports are also coming in of them being found in some TRU stores in the USofA. Happy hunting !!!!
UPDATE - New sets from other themes are also starting to appear across the US, although distribution seems a little patchy, with many areas still waiting for the sets. Sightings include Castle, Agents 2.0, Creator, Power Miners, etc., but the new Star Wars sets remain elusive. Thanks to everyone for reporting their finds !

Shopping news (Europe) Posted by bluemoose, May 22 2009 11:22AM
Brickset reviewer MayTheBricksBeWithYou reports picking up the Clone Wars Y-Wing & Battle of Endor sets from TRU Würselen, in Germany.
Although other summer sets have been appearing in different countries for over a month now, seeing the summer Star Wars sets at retail so early is, I think, unprecidented.

The previously rumoured 'Christmas Set' has now wandered into the limelight, courtesy of Amazon Japan
Scheduled for release on October 25th this year (according to Amazon.jp)
Everyone I've shown it to thinks it's adorable, and I agree !

Miscellaneous news Posted by bluemoose, May 23 2009 5:51PM
Toys-R-Us in the UK has just started a LEGO Star Wars promotion - spend £29.99 or more on LEGO Star Wars sets in a TRU store and receive a *free* Chrome Darth Vader, previously only available when pre-ordering the 2009 Vader's TIE in Sweden or as a random insert in North American LEGO Star Wars sets. They are apparently handed out at the check-out after you've paid.
Seems like it might be a Europe-wide promotion, but things are a little sketchy at the moment as to how wide-spread this offer is.
Thanks to Dr. Sinister for doing the research on this one ! And thanks to all the others that sent in the info.

Shopping news (UK) Posted by bluemoose, May 26 2009 9:54AM
Although LEGO had previously stated that Space Police III would not be released to retailers in the UK, it appears that those 'retailers' did not include LEGO's own Brand Stores ...
We have received very credible information that the LEGO Brand Stores in the UK (Bluewater / Brighton / Milton Keynes) have today received deliveries of some Space Police III sets.
Although from a very credible source, please phone ahead to make sure that the sets are actually on sale before making the journey.
They have also received deliveries of some of the new Agents 2.0 & City sets.

Miscellaneous news Posted by Huw, May 30 2009 1:03PM
I'm back from my travels... I have no LEGO news other than I managed to get a 2230 airline special set from Thomson Airways on the way to Portugal :-)
It looks like it's been an exciting week here at Brickset though, and I thank Grahame and bluemoose for keeping you all up to date and the site in order. It looks as if I'll be heading to TRU tomorrow to bag a chrome Darth Vader; knowing my luck the offer will have finished or they've run out!

LEGOshop.com news Posted by Grahame, May 30 2009 5:06PM
They're almost here...
LEGOshop.com has listed as currently "not available" about forty-five new releases including City, Castle, Agents, Racers, Space Police and several Duplo sets for customers in Europe, the U.K., Australia and New Zealand.
I see 8169 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 is amongst the new releases but the three Power Miners sets are missing although they are available already in the shops here (NZ). I think June is going to be an expensive month!
UPDATE: The City and Castle sets, and the Lamborghini are now available for ordering!

New set news Posted by Huw, May 31 2009 11:45AM
Thanks to everyone who contacted us while I was away with news of new set sightings in shops and online. I usually reply to everyone who contacts us but with 30-odd emails received while I've been away, I may not find the time to. However, I really appreciate that you take the time to keep us, and Brickset readers as a result, informed of what's happening in your area and what you've found online.
It seems the non-licenced summer releases are appearing just about everywhere now, and if Bionicle is your thing you can now order the 6 latest sets -- which look almost identical to every other one released since 2001 -- from Toys R Us in the USA and Canada.
