Brickset news archive: shop.LEGO.com (General)
If you're signed in as a VIP member at shop.LEGO.com you'll now be able to order 10237 Tower of Orthanc for immediate delivery via these links: USA ($199) | UK (£169) | Canada ($249). If you're not signed in, you'll be taken to the shop home page.
If you order soon, you'll also get a Splinter key chain, a Jor-El polybag, a LEGO LotR poster, and free shipping, so what are you waiting for!
This month you can get hold of the 5001623 Jor-El minifig with a qualifying purchase at shop.LEGO.com, and enjoy free shipping:
In the US and Canada you'll need to spend $75 and in the UK, £50.
We're hearing from grogall that 10237 Tower of Orthanc will be available from 17th June exclusively to VIP customers from shop.LEGO.com and in the brand stores. This is a couple of weeks before its general release in July.
April's shop.LEGO.com offers are a bit lack-lustre, aren't they, but thankfully that's not the case for May. As reported last week, the May the forth offer will be Han Solo in Hoth garb, and he'll be free with purchases of Star Wars items over £75 (or £50 I suspect). Then later in the month, set 30167-1 Iron Man vs. Fighting Drone is free with purchases over $50.
Thanks to Michael B for the news and image.
As you can see from the banner above (if you're in the UK, USA or Canada) there are some worthwhile offers this month at shop.LEGO.com:
In the USA and Canada: FREE Delivery on all orders of $75 or more until 15th March, and FREE 30242 Star Wars Republic Frigate with $50 LEGO Star Wars orders.
In the UK: FREE Delivery on all orders of £50 or more until 15th March, and FREE 30242 Star Wars Republic Frigate with £50 LEGO Star Wars orders.
In Germany: FREE Delivery on all orders of €55 or more until 13th March, and FREE 30242 Star Wars Republic Frigate with €55 LEGO Star Wars orders.
Luckily I haven't bought all the SW sets I intend to yet, so I'm off shopping...
Thanks to rmarkworth for the info on the German offer.
If you're a VIP member, you can now buy Palace Cinema from the brand stores and shop.LEGO.com. If you're in the UK you'll receive a free 30222 police helicopter polybag when you do so, and standard shipping seems to be free at the moment.
This month's offers are as follows. Click on the country name below for more details.
- Free City Police Helicopter polybag (30222) when you spend $35 or more.
- Free City Police Helicopter polybag (30222) when you spend $35 or more.
New products have been added to shop.LEGO.com in the UK, including Horizon Express, City, Creator, Super Heroes, Ninjago, Technic and Star Wars.
However, notable by their absence are Galaxy Squad, TMNT and the Star Wars Planets. It looks as if we'll have to wait a few more months for them, in the UK at least, although bizarrely the latter are on the shelves in other other European countries already, as you can read below.
Click on the banner at the top of the page to get shopping and claim your free LoC polybag and free shipping (on orders over £50).
Spend £50 (UK) or $75 (USA/Canada) at shop.LEGO.com from now until the end of January, and you'll receive a free 30250 Legends of Chima Ewar's Acro Fighter polybag. In the UK, there's free shipping until 14 January on orders over £50 too. Click on the banner at the top of the page to get shopping.
For some reason best known to LEGO, the only 2013 sets available at shop.LEGO.com in the UK at the moment are LoC and Friends, and it's the same in the brand stores too.
I received the paper S@H catalogue a few days ago, which claims that other 2013 sets will be 'available for purchase on 1st January', so hopefully they'll be added overnight. Interestingly, the paper catalogue does not contain TMNT or Galaxy Squad. I hope that's because of a lack of space and not because they won't be available yet.
Grogall has uncovered an online copy of the Italian consumer catalogue which is interesting to see. It doesn't contain TMNT either, and Galaxy Squad is shown as being available in March. It does however show the new architecture set Imperial Hotel and series 2 of the Friends polybags.
addictedtostyrene tells me that "Myer in Brisbane Australia have 2013 Ninjago, Hobbit sets ... as well as CMF series 9" so it looks as if the UK is the last place to be able to buy the new Ninjago sets :-(
I guess we'll have to see what happens overnight tonight...
The sale has now started and there are quite a few decent offers to be had. In the USA and Canada, a lot of inventory has been reduced by 20%. The reductions in the UK don't look quite as compelling, but you might find something of interest.
Visit the 'Sales and Deals' page at shop (UK | USA | Canada) or use our Quick Shopper, which is easier to use and easier to filter out all the 'tat' (UK, US and Canada data feeds haven't been updated yet).
We've received the following message from our contacts in LEGO today:
"This is a quick note to let you know that shop.LEGO.com will begin selling 10937 – Batman™: Arkham Asylum Escape beginning tomorrow, 18 December. This will be effective for all European countries. If you would be kind enough to share this with your sites’ readers we would greatly appreciate it.
Please note that the product is still scheduled for a 31 Dec. launch in the U.S. and Canada."
Great news - some people might be lucky enough to get their hands on the set before Christmas!
Today is 'Black Friday' in the US, which means nothing to anyone outside of north America, but it's a good excuse for LEGO to give us some decent 'Brick Friday' offers over the weekend.
In the UK:
- 10% off all orders of £100 or more
- Free Limited Edition Christmas set (3300014) with orders of £50 or more.
- FREE Delivery on all orders of £25 or more.
In the USA and Canada:
- 10% off all orders of $149 or more
- Free Limited Edition Holiday set (3300014) with orders of $99 or more.
- FREE Shipping on all orders of $49 or more.
There are also some 'Sales and Deals' running over the weekend on both sides of the Atlantic, with 20% discounts on some items, mostly 'Gear'. Nothing to get too excited about, but you'll find a link to all the reduced items on the landing page when you click on the banner above.
Today is an excellent day to do your shopping at shop.LEGO.com. Not only do you get free shipping on orders over a low threshold, you can also get hold of the 3300014 2012 Holiday Set for free, and if you order comes to over over £100/$149 you'll get 10% off as well!
(Note that the UK landing page currently shows monetary values in Euros for some reason, but I believe the thresholds are free shipping over £25, free set over £50 and 10% off over £100). I suspect the page will be fixed in due course...)
Batman: Arkham Asylum Breakout is now listed at shop.lego.com with pricing, and a release date of 01 January 2013. Thanks to Mcotter for finding this one!
The Horizon Express is now listed at shop.lego.com with pricing, and a release date of 01 January 2013. Looks like Christmas will be cancelled this year as I save up hard for all the new 2013 releases...
The free shipping offer (on orders over £50/$99) at shop.LEGO.com has started this week, although I'm told that despite being informed at the start of the month that it would start yesterday in the UK, it didn't, but it is supposed to today.
Click on the banner above to get shopping, and if you're in the UK don't forget to use the promotional code CAKE when you check out to receive a free 40048 Birthday Cake, exclusively to visitors to AFOL sites!
If you're a VIP member at shop.LEGO.com, you can now order 10229 Winter Village Cottage. VIP members received an email today offering an interesting choice:
"We know our LEGO VIPs will want to be the first to get their hands on the new Winter Village Cottage Exclusive set! However, with double VIP Points just around the corner, you'll get the VIP Star treatment WHENEVER you make your purchase:
- OPTION 1: Purchase September 24 - September 30: VIP Members get exclusive early access to purchase Winter Village Cottage!
- OPTION 2: Purchase October 1 - October 31: VIP Members get DOUBLE VIP Points on every purchase of Winter Village Cottage.
"Simply choose which of these options works best for you to purchase this great new LEGO exclusive. Just make sure you're signed in with your LEGO ID to get shopping!"
It sounds a bit of a no-brainer to me. Why would you buy it 6 days early when you can effectively save 5% on October 1st??
Whenever you choose to buy it, please do so via these links: UK (£90) | USA ($100) | Canada ($130). Note that if you're not logged in at shop.LEGO.com, you'll be sent to the home page when you click on them, which confused me this morning when I first read about this at Brick Fanatics.
(Thanks tzi for sending me the email text: I haven't received it directly yet).
LEGO has lined up some offers to tempt you to part with your money in September:

Click on the banner above, or the yellow one in the top corner to get shopping!
French site Hoth Bricks is reporting that LEGO is recruiting for staff to work in a brand store that is to open in Lille, in the north-east corner of France.
This will be the first brand store to open in the country and the news will surely be greeted with enthusiasm by AFOLs in that part of France, and also those in Belgium, because Lille is of course close to the Belgian border.
Hopefully this will be the first of many in the country. If you fancy applying for the job, here are the details.
I think those of you in Spain, Portugal, Italy and elsewhere in Europe can also be encouraged this news given that it signals expansion outside of the UK, Germany and Denmark which will hopefully continue into other countries.
If you're in the USA or Canada you can get this 40048 birthday cake when you spend over $50 at shop.LEGO.com between now and 10th August. Click on the banner above and get shopping!
In the UK, and probably the rest of Europe, we have to make do with another opportunity to get the Hulk minifig. However on the plus side, as you'll see from the New at shop.LEGO.com area above, Palpatine's Arrest and Spider-Man are now shipping!
LEGO is also running a promotion to encourage you to sign up as a VIP member. I'm sure everyone here already is, but in case not:
LEGO VIP 1 in a Million: Sign up and register as a LEGO VIP prior to August 31st for a chance to win an ultimate LEGOLAND trip for a family of 4 to any LEGOLAND Park in the world – flights and accommodation included!
I have to admit I thought this set had gone earlier this year, but #10215, UCS Obi-Wan's Starfighter is currently available from LEGO Shop online in Europe, Australia & New Zealand at around 50% off, which seems like a pretty good deal.
This set never generated a lot of excitement, unusual for a Star Wars UCS set, and it always seemed rather expensive, but I have to admit I enjoyed the build a lot more than I was expecting and the finished model looks a lot better than I thought it would. It also makes a for a good 'parts pack' for the MOCers out there. At this price I'm quite tempted to get another one ...
At £46.49 in the UK, I'm not expecting it to be around for long ... click through to LEGO Shop on-line to take a look.
Also, a reminder that the free Mini Sopwith Camel set with a £50/€55 spend offer is still running ..
Thanks to those on the forums that posted about this and those that emailed us with the news.
It's the 1st of the month, so it's all change at shop.LEGO.com. The free Hulk minifig offer has ended but there are some great ones in its place:
(Note: as I write this at 9am UK time, shop.LEGO.com hasn't been updated so the offer links below are not yet active)
In the USA:
- FREE Shipping on orders of $75 or more, June 1-15
- FREE Exclusive 40049 Mini Sopwith Camel on orders of $75 or more, June 1-30 (or while supplies last)
- The Sopwith Camel is also now available, priced at $99.99
- FREE Shipping on orders of $75 or more, June 1-15
- FREE Exclusive 40049 Mini Sopwith Camel on orders of $75 or more, June 1-30 (or while supplies last)
- The Sopwith Camel is also now available
In the UK:
- Absolutely nothing!
- The sale continues although nothing new has been added.
- The mini Sopwith Camel offer WILL be available in the UK, but not until July.
- There is some good news, however: the summer Star Wars sets are now available!
- The Sopwith Camel is also now available, priced at £79.99
Click on the banner above to do so and to find out more.
Buy anything over £50 or $50 at shop.LEGO.com between now and 31st May and get a free Hulk minifigure that is not available in any set. Click on the banner at the top of the page for more details.
(If you're in the UK, sorry about the $ sign in the ad.: LEGO didn't provide a banner specifically for the UK)
The City Mining Truck set 4202 is now listed at shop.LEGO.com for some countries only. Priced at 29.99 Euro for customers from Germany, this set contains 269 pieces and is apparently available now. This means the other sets in this sub-theme won't be too far away from making an appearance at the LEGO shop!
It appears that the "May the 4th" promotion is now live on shop.LEGO.com for the Kiwis and Aussies!
Not entirely unexpected, the discounts are few and far between this year.
The sets on sale are as follows:
- 10221 - Super Star Destroyer 20% Off
- 10212 - Imperial Shuttle 20% Off
- 7964 - Republic Frigate 10% Off
- 7962 - Anakin's and Sebulba's Podracers 10% Off
- 7961 - Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator 10% Off
- 7956 - Ewok Attack 10% Off
- 7929 - The Battle of Naboo 10% Off
- Various Magnets and Keychains 10% Off
Thanks to Forum users UKtsumi and Supersympa for the headsup!
It's 1st May, so R2-D2 can now be ordered from shop.LEGO.com. It's priced £149 in the UK, $179 in the USA and $229 in Canada.
New items have been added to the shop.LEGO.com sale in the USA and Canada, including most of the Alien Conquest sets, which have been reduced by about 25%.
The biggest bargain seems to be 853358, the Heroica storage box, which is now just US$8.48 -- a saving of about 75%.
Here's a round up of the April news and offers at shop.LEGO.com:

Update: Also of note this month for US stores:

Offer not valid at shop.LEGO.com, LEGOLAND Discovery Centers or LEGOLAND Parks. Offer is not valid on the monthly Pick-A-Brick model. The LEGO Company reserves the right to amend or cancel this promotion at any time without prior notice.
For those of us already in PAB box withdrawal, this promotion might help us transition. :o) (Yellowcastle)
At last! The 'May The Fourth' promo for this year will be a Limited Edition TC-14 minifigure! Also from the May store calendar is this exclusive Hulk minifigure which will be given away with a $50 purchase between 16 and 31 May.
LEGO has started its Easter promotions today, and the Town Hall can now be ordered, which is perfect timing given the offer includes free shipping and double VIP points.
There has also been a lot of 'gear' added to the store, although it seems most is only available in Canada at the moment. There are new Star Wars magnet sets, Ninjago accessories and a very cool storage box. See it all in the 2012 Gear listing.
In the UK:

Click on the big yellow 'Shop Today' image in the menu to take advantage of these offers.
The Mini-modulars can now be ordered from shop.LEGO.com, but you have to be logged in to be able to do so. Mighty Wanderer emailed to say they were available but when I first looked it said 'coming soon 1st Feb.'
It seems that if you search for 10230 at LEGO.com and you are not logged in you end up at product landing page that says 'coming soon' but when you click on 'full details' it takes you back to the shop home page.
The LEGO Kingdoms Joust set, jointly announced back at the beginning of October at BrickCon (USA) and The Great Western Lego Show (UK), is now available from LEGO Shop Online (UK, £100 | USA, $120) and from Brand Retail Stores in the UK (we haven't heard about it being available in other bricks and mortar stores - let us know if you see it anywhere).
If you were at either of the two events mentioned above, you will have had the opportunity to take a good look at the set 'in the flesh'; I spent a day 'baby sitting' the one at GWLS, so I got to know it fairly well, and it's a very nice set in my opinion.
I've also got a part-built one on the sofa next to me as I type this ... it belongs to my wife, so I must resist the tempation to do any of the assembly!
I suspect the best stuff -- which, unlike last year, there is some -- will sell out fast, so get your order in quickly.
What I assume is in preparation for their imminent release, images have been uploaded to shop.LEGO.com for all of the first-wave of 2012 sets. The products aren't all listed at LEGO.com yet so you won't be able to see them on the site itself, so I've added them to Brickset, including all the additional images showing small details and minifigs.
For me, the Friends sets look most intruiging. There are some great colours and pieces in them, and it is said that the girls' hairpieces are compatible with minifigs. It's a shame my daughters are now too old to buy them for. I'll just have to come up with some other excuse!
Here's a few alternate images to whet your appetite:
We've just had word that the City Advent calendar has been reduced by 25% in Europe and the USA, but quantities are limited, so get in quick!
You'll find links to shop.LEGO.com on the set details page.
A quick heads-up from LEGO: "Due to the overwhelming success of the Limited Edition Gift with purchase promotion in Europe, we have reached the end of our available inventory. This means we will have to end the promotion tonight at 11pm GMT. However, both the 10% off 100 and Free Delivery off 25 will continue through tomorrow."
Update from LEGO, 28 Nov 10:00 EST: "We have now also run out of the Limited Edition Set in both the US and Canada. However, the 10% off $149 and Free Shipping off $49 offers will continue all day. Additionally, we have marked three new items down 25%:
- 2520 Ninjago Battle Arena
- 7189 Mill Village Raid
- 8863 Blizzards Peak
Check them out on the Sales and Deals page.
It's not often that we're able to tell you in advance of price reductions at shop.LEGO.com, particularly for something that's actually worth buying rather than the usual tat that's been found languishing at the back of the warehouse :-)
Anyway, from tomorrow, the 24th, the latest incarnation of the Maersk container ship will be approx. 30% off in all countries that LEGO ship to from Europe (i.e. all of Europe and AU/NZ). In the UK, it'll be reduced from £102 to a far more realistic £72.09.
If you don't already have this set, I highly recommend it. It's one of my favourites and one that I have had on permanent display since it was released in 2004. Not only does it look very cool once built, it also has a great selection of pieces in Maersk blue and dark red.
At the moment every LEGO retailer out there seems to be offering some sort of offer in an attempt to get us to part with our money. Unfortunately LEGO themselves can't offer 3-for-2 or deep discounts because they can't undercut their retail channel so their offers have to be a bit more creative. Today's offer, for VIP members, is pretty good:
- Spend over £25 / US$49 / CA$49 -- free delivery (I thought everyone had that anyway...)
- Spend over £50 / US$99 / CA$99 -- Get the second Christmas set free as well
- Spend over £100 / US$149 / CA$149 -- 10% off your order as well!
Plus, VIP points too!
Now I just need to find something to buy. Luckily for you in the US and Canada you can get the 2012 sets already so there's probably something you need. But for me here in the UK, I have nearly everything I want...
If you're in the USA or Canada you can take advantage of this special shop.LEGO.com offer for Brickset visitors:
"We have discovered a limited quantity of LEGO Star Wars™ Shadow ARF Trooper minifigures in our warehouse! Due to the very limited quantity we would like to give the fan community the first chance to receive these as bonus gift on any LEGO Star Wars holiday purchases that meet the Free Shipping threshold of $99.
"The offer will be available Nov 7th - 21st or while supplies last. To add the LEGO Star Wars™ Shadow ARF Trooper to your eligible order simply enter code BS11 (US) / BS12 (CA) at checkout."
This minifig fetches ridiculous sums on eBay so be sure to take advantage of this by placing an order today. Unfortunately there hasn't been a similar discovery in the European warehouse :-(
This 'limited edition Christmas set' is free with purchases over £50 / $99 between now and the end of October from shop.LEGO.com. It's actually a pretty nice set, isn't it! This is set one of two. The second one will be available in November.
Click on the LEGO banner in the menu and get shopping: there's free delivery and double VIP points at the moment as well.
It's been a long time coming, but now at last it looks as if the new web shop platform we've discussed here before has been deployed.
Check it out and let us know what you think. It certainly looks much nicer, but being Flash-based it's a lot slower than before.
Unfortunately, several utilities I have for extracting data and images from the site have now been rendered useless and it may take me a while to fix them :(
The new Volkswagen T1 Camper Van has just become available to order from the US & Canadian Shop Online stores, with immediate availability. Brickset member 'GreenHare' reports that the Newark, DE, USA, store has them on the shelf in-store already, so other US stores probably do too (ring ahead to check before making a special journey).
As for the rest of the world, the Shop Online store is reporting '27th Sept' for availability pretty much everywhere else. That's only next Tuesday, so not long to wait now.
Thanks to 'GreenHare' & 'datkidde' (on the brickset forum) for the news.
Many of you have been waiting for this, now at last you can order it. The Super Star Destoyer is now available at shop.LEGO.com. Order it via these links and keep Brickset on-air:
For North American customers, the Star Wars and City Advent Calendar sets are now listed at shop.LEGO.com, and priced at 39.99 and 34.99 USD respectively.
Update: City Advent Calendar now also showing for other markets.
For European, Australian and New Zealand customers, the Volkswagen T1 Camper Van is now listed at shop.LEGO.com with pricing but without a release date as yet.
Update: Now also showing for Canada and the US (119.99 USD).
For European, Australian and New Zealand customers, the Winter Village Post Office is now listed at shop.LEGO.com with pricing but without a release date as yet.
Update: Now also showing for Canada and the US (69.99 USD).
Free exclusive Mini Hogwarts Express when you buy Diagon Alley from shop.LEGO.com but be in quick before they're all gone!
Coinciding with the release of the 2nd half sets, LEGO has made a further reduction to some of their sale items. Toy Story sets and some LEGO games are 40% off. Unfortunately there's currently not a free shipping promotion, but if you're fortunate enough to live near a LEGO brand store, you should be able to find these items in stock, as well.
The Prince of Persia sets -- which contain some excellent parts -- have not been reduced further yet, but I'll be on the lookout and update when they do (if there's any left after I buy them).
New LEGO sets for the 2nd-half of the 2011 calendar year are now available online at shop.lego.com and in LEGO brand stores. The sets primarily span the Hero Factory, Ninjago, Technic, and Duplo themes.
Some notable additions are the 8110 Technic MB Unimog, which finally confirms the suspected price of USD 199.99, and a new LEGO board game called LEGO Champion, which looks to be a family style game in the same vein of Creationary.
To easily browse the new sets, visit http://shop.lego.com (or click the link in the top right corner) and click the "What's New" section of the Shop Features on the right hand navigation pane.
Also, since it's August 1st, you can expect to see big box retailers like Target and Wal-Mart refresh their displays with this latest stock which will carry us through to the holiday season.
The Technic Flatbed Truck 8109 and the Technic Bucket Truck 8071 are now listed on shop.lego.com for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. No doubt, other countries will soon be listed - fingers crossed!

The Pet Shop is shipping already from shop.LEGO.com. It's $149.99 in the USA and £119.99 in the UK.
Boy, it's an expensive month, what with PotC, Alien Conquest and the May the Fouth offers -- my credit card must be having a heart attack!
The Technic set 8081 "Extreme Cruiser" is now listed on at least the German and Austrian shop.lego.com websites. More expected to follow in the next few days.
The box is labelled "Limited Edition". I guess that means it will be expensive?

- Free delivery on orders over £50
- This is the biggie... Free Shadow ARF Trooper minifigure on orders over £50
- Exclusive sales and deals on SW sets.
These are the European offers. If you've heard what they are in the USA, then let us know. The offer page at http://shop.lego.com/promotion/Default.aspx?SW2011 doesn't tell us much yet...
Series 4 minifigs are now available from the LEGO Internet Shop and priced at GBP 1.99 / USD 2.99 / EUR 1.99.
Update: There's a limit of 16 per customer but my previous experience has been that it's actually a maximum of 16 per order; you can place multiple orders without any problems. Get them here: UK | USA -- Huw
The availability date for the Maersk Train set 10219 has changed to 15 April 2011 for all countries apart from the US and Canada where the orignal date of 01 April still stands.
Update: The release date has been returned to 01 April for all countries with access to shop.lego.com except for South Korea where it appears that this set will not be available.
Back in December we reported on a new LEGO Education set called 'Fairytale and Historic Minifigure Set'; at the time it wasn't available in the US or Canada, which disappointed a few people. We're happy to report that the set is now available to order from LEGO Shop on-line for our North American friends.
There's a couple of deals running on both sides of the Atlantic during February. In the UK receive a free Creator shark (7805) when you spend over £25 and in the USA receive a Police Boat (30002) when you spend over $35. Click on the appropriate banner below for more information and to get shopping!
Update: The Maersk Container Ship set 10155 is now available from LEGOshop.com for customers everywhere !!!
A sale started yesterday afternoon at LEGOshop.com with some 250 items listed both in the UK and USA. However hardly anything decent is actually available and it looks as if it's a bit of a sham. Sets that have long been unavailable like the Grand Carousel and series 1 and 2 figs are listed as being half price but are 'sold out'.
If you're after Duplo or Ben 10 you'll be in luck but all the decent stuff has gone, or was not available to start with in the UK at least. It's slightly better in the USA, however.
LEGO is running several offers over the Black Friday weekend (26-29th Nov), starting with free Shipping on orders of $49 or more and 10% off orders of $149 or more in the USA and Canada. In addition, there will be daily sales on selected sets on each of these days: check back on Friday to find out more!
Here in the UK, we are not being left out: we have free shipping on orders over £49 until 12 December.
I'm told that: No Code Necessary - Qualifying orders will automatically receive free delivery at checkout.
The four new seasonal polybag sets are now available from LEGOshop.com: USA | UK. At least, three of them are available everywhere but the best of the bunch, the turkey, only appears to be available in north America. Don't LEGO realise we eat turkeys over here, on Christmas day? :-)
So, if some kind soul could ship a couple over to me in time for Christmas, please get in touch!
The repair kit for the Technic Excavator 8043 is now being shipped. It consists of 4 new actuators and 3 additional parts. There is a corrections page for the steps 33 and 36 in the instructions. The fix beyond the new actuators is to provide support for one of the gears. In order to do the repairs, you need to totally tear down the Excavator to allow the support and the actuators to be installed. (Thanks to legowerba for this news)
Update (by Huw): I received mine last week and fitted the actuators without too much stripping down. The improvement in performance is not immediately obvious, since I didn't have a lot of problems with mine in the first place, but I'll rest assured that they won't 'turn to dust' in the coming years now. I didn't fit the gear support because again, it wasn't immediately obvious what the problem was that it was fixing, and also it would require a major rebuild to fit it, which, if you've already built the model, you'll know would not be much fun!
Another update: TechnicBricks has an article about the differences between the linear actuators: it suggests that in the new ones, the internal gears are thinner and it's full of grease, to reduce friction.
The one we've all been waiting for is now available! Tower Bridge can now be ordered from LEGOshop.com for immediate delivery. Unfortunately there's a limit of 5 per customer, though :-) The double VIP point offer has started too, by the looks of things. (thanks Ulli)
(thanks DrDave for the news)
We're hearing that Harry Potter sets are now being shipped by LEGOshop.com and are indeed showing as 'available now' in the UK, a few days earler than their October 1st release date.
However, it may be worth holding off ordering them just yet as we're also hearing that during October LEGO is offering double VIP points online and in-store, which is effectively a 10% discount. Perfect -- that's just in time for the release of Tower Bridge!
Do you have the new Harry Potter sets? If so, let us know what you think by writing some reviews. Are they good value for money? I've had them for a while. I haven't yet built Hogwarts or Hagrid's hut but my verdict on the others is to buy them all but Hogwart's Express: They are expensive but the figs are excellent and the sets have a decent selection of pieces, particularly The Burrow.
Hogwart's Express has excellent figures but the train itself is atrocious: it's a very lazy design. The loco looks good above the solebar but the wheelsets are totally wrong and make the finshed model look like a cross between a steam train and a diesel. Why they didn't use the new large train wheels, I don't know. Maybe the target audience won't notice or care, but with a little extra effort it could have been superb: on a par with Emerald Night. A wasted opportunity...
I'm not sure when it happened, but South Korea has been added to the list of countries able to buy from the LEGO Internet shop. This is obviously good news for all South Korean LEGO fans!
The Motorized Excavator set 8043 is again available from the LEGO shop online. Shipping dates are 30 days for the US and Canada, and 29 October for the rest of the countries that have access to the LEGO Internet shop.
No mention though of any replacement parts.
Thanks to the dozens of you that have emailed this in :-)
A day earlier than expected, and just in time to make it under the wire for the free shipping offer in the UK (finishes tonight, 31st August, so get ordering), the UCS Imperial Shuttle is up now for immediate shipping from LEGO Shop online in most regions.
A quick skip through the various countries & it looks like it's available to order across Europe & Australia/New Zealand. but not
the US, Canada orSouth Korea just yet ... keep an eye on the pages, as it won't be long now! As is common with the larger sets, customers are limited to ordering a maximum of 5 ...
Thanks to DrDaveWatford & keithkram for the heads-up !
EDIT - that didn't take long; a couple of hours later & they are available on the US & Canadian sites too!
EDIT - Just as the UK free shipping offer ends, a US & Canadian offer starts ! Between now & 19th September, LEGO Shop online are offering free shipping on all orders over $75 (US or Canadian); check the website for all the clauses & conditions.
8043, the motorised excavator, was the most anticipated Technic set of the year. I have one and I built it last week. It's a great, complex build, and once complete it works well although you need a fresh set of batteries, especially to raise the arm, which takes some effort.
However, DomincG emailed yesterday to say that it's no longer listed at LEGOshop.com in the USA and in a phone call to LEGO he was told that "the US-allocated stock for this set has been sold out and there are no plans to sell additional stock within the US". That seems a bit strange given that it was only listed on the site for about 2 weeks!
I've just checked availability in other countries and it seems to have vanished from the shop competely! I wonder if there's a quailty issue? It's still featured on the Technic home page, but if you click on 'check price' you get a 'not found' page.
Have you seen it in your LEGO store? If so, and you want it, you'd better buy it right away!
Update: it seems it is a quality issue: read the comments to find out more.
We've teamed up with the nice people at LEGOshop.com to bring Brickset users an exclusive offer!
Until July 31st, when you click through to LEGOshop.com from Brickset, spend over US$80 or £30, quote the code BRICKSETUK (in the UK) or BRICKSETUS (in the USA) at the checkout you'll get a free Vader's TIE Fighter® Bag Charm!
The small print is at the bottom of the page; be sure to read it first.
The Volkswagen Beetle set 10187 is now available for pre-order in the US and is priced at 119.99 USD.
Pre-order this item today, and it will be shipped by 15 July 2008.
The post-Christmas sale has started at LEGOShop.com. There's plenty of Mars Mission, Exo-Force, City and even some Star Wars sets at about 2/3rds price. See what's on offer by clicking on Sale now on link on the right!
(Updated) Echo Base and the Endor set can now be ordered from SOME European countries but while they were appearing as available earlier in the week for shipping to the UK, they have been removed from the UK shop website and Brickset readers in the UK have reported that they've been removed from their orders. What a cock-up... (Thanks to keithkram)
Twenty-one 2008 sets are now available from Shop-At-Home for North American customers. Sets include Exo-Force, Racers and Creator. For some reason they are not yet appearing in our product feed, though. As soon as they are we'll provide a quick link to the 2008 sets on S@H for US and UK customers.
If you have heard about the LEGO TV promotion currently running on Comcast, but do not have the ability to watch it, now is your chance! Here is an official link provided by the LEGO Group to view it on your computer. There are mostly commercials for recent sets, but there are also some Brickfilms, an EXO-FORCE movie, Revenge of the Brick, and some other movies.
The LEGO Shop At Home sale has started, and the 2008 sets are now available for order in the UK. They have not appeared in our product feed yet (so you'll still see nothing if you click on the link above), so click on the yellow graphic link on the menu to the left and get ordering!
The sale includes some interesting sets which are selling out fast, so don't delay, order today :-)
Update Jan 2nd: The feed now includes new sets and those on sale. The link above now works for the UK!
Today, LEGO announced that it has stopped production of set 10179 Millennium Falcon™. They're still available from Shop at Home, but not for long I suspect.
Brickset user Aaron has brought to our attention that the shipping date for the Ultimate Collectors' Series Millennium Falcon has been pushed back almost an entire month to October 31st, instead of October 1st, as previously listed on the LEGO S@H website in the U.S. and Canada. No other country seems to be affected.
We have received some reports of the new UCS Millenium Falcon being delivered to our members. This is about a week early! It looks like the wait is nearly over for those of you who preordered.
Gertjan has taken picures of next year's Exo-Force sets at LEGO World and posted them on Brickshelf. I have to say I'm a bit of an Exo-Force fan and like the direction LEGO are taking the theme. It's like Bionicle but with real parts :-)
Several correspondents have reported that Toys R Us in the USA have started stocking 2008 sets, including the Exo-Force ones, so if you're near one, go and check it out!
The appearance of new sets after Thanksgiving has been the norm for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately we in the UK have to wait until January before we see them although sometimes S@H lists them just before Christmas. Just after the last posting date for them to arrive for Christmas, usually :-)
So my Google news alerts claim today, so the sad news for Canadians was short lived :-)

North Americans, your wait is over! I have the US feed and you can now see US prices, direct product links and the 'Buy' page shows what's available from S@H.
The country detection code should send you off to the right page but in case it doesn't, you can switch to the US page from the UK one and vice-versa. When you have done that once, it will remember your preference.
I plan to add plenty more features in the coming weeks: Sets available only in the US, only in the UK, new sets at S@H, maybe even a chart showing the sets with the best and worse $/£ ratios (but LEGO might not like that!)
If you like what I'm doing, encourage me to do more by buying your sets from my links!
Update: I think the complexity of the queries to support this functionalty is causing some pages to timeout. If you experience such problems, please persevere or try again later. I'll have to work on optimising them in the next few days.
This article on the ToyNews website lists many of the sets we have seen pictures of already but also mentions "Power Miners" which sound like the return of Rock Raiders - a theme that had many appealing features, but was released at the time when LEGO were excessively juniorising many of their sets. Let's hope that's not the case this time round!
Ceroknight sent us news of a very cool promotion at LEGOshop.com. Buy anything (*) and get a free classic space minifig magent with a cool 2x4 printed tile featuring the classic space logo.
(*) in the USA and Canada it seems you need to spend over $75.
Everywhere else it's free with every purchase.
Update: I've checked LEGOShop.com, and to qualify for the CS Minifig, you need to spend AUD 90 in Australia, EUR 55 in Europe, NZD 110 in New Zealand, and GBP 55 in the UK. This offer is not available to South Korea. -- jpmanalo
Update: It seems LEGO have acknowledged there's been a problem with this promotion. I hope my affiliate manager won't mind me quoting him verbatim:
"Due to the confusion on the spend over threshold we’ve temporarily turned off the promotion everywhere except in North America (US&CA). The following regions should be updated as follows:
- Tomorrow (29th): UK, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Luxemburg, Netherlands & Portugal
- Wednesday (30th): Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary, Norway, Poland & Sweden
- US & CA: The offer will remain up as the communication is currently accurate (Free Shipping + Spaceman Minifigure on orders of $75 or more.)
The offer will be available until July 31st or while supplies last."
LEGOshop.com is offering a free Toy Story 3 poster with the purchase of any "LEGO Brand Toy Story product" from LEGOshop.com and brand stores. This offer is valid from 13th to 20th June 2010. (Thank you to Brickset member jamonlego for that news)
We received reports overnight that the 10213 Space Shuttle is now available for order from LEGOshop.com in the US and UK, however when I checked just now it is 'Coming soon 22nd July 2010' in the USA and 'not available in this country' in the UK. Did some of you get lucky and manage to place and order? -- Huw
Update: It's even appeared in the UK product feed from LEGO, but you still can't order it!)
It looks as if all the known January releases are now available from LEGOshop.com in Europe and North America. Recent additions include 8091 Swamp Speeder, 8092 Luke's Landspeeder and 10210 Pirate Imperial Flagship. They'll appear in our product feed in a day or two but if you can't wait that long to order them, click on the yellow box in the menu and get shopping!
Sorry for the lack of news lately. I have been busy over the summer and I don't think anything worth reporting has happened during August -- I suspect everyone else is busy too! If you have news you think we should be incluing, let us know!
The more observant among you will have noticed the colourful S@H adverts on the left-hand-side of this page. Brickset is now a LEGO affiliate which means that, if you access S@H by clicking on the ads to get there, Brickset will get a small commission on every item bought.
Having two ads for different markets is a bit messy, and what about the rest of the world, I hear you ask? Well, it seems the different regions of LEGO do things separately and at the moment only NA (US and Canada) and UK have affiliate schemes. I'll put some country detection code in place soon to show only the relevant one when I have worked out how.
I'm hoping to put direct product links on the relevant set pages, if I can get the data in a usable format from them. There are at present 590-odd different sets listed on S@H and I'm certainly not going to add them manually!
Show your support for Brickset by clicking on the link and buying something today!
Every year, around this time, LEGO shelves are not stocked well. In a month or two, this problem will be gone. But, many of the sets released this year will not be restocked, as they have been discontinued. So, before you buy every new 2008 set, make sure to look and see if there aren't some 2007 sets you still want, as they may not be around much longer.
Now's the ideal time to buy that LEGO treat you've been promising yourself for Christmas, particularly if you're in the USA. From now until Dec. 6th there's free shipping on orders over $99!
Click through on any of our links to LEGOshop.com and get shopping!
Toy Story, Star Wars, Technic, Power Miners, Atlantis: they are all now available but they are hard to find: the site is probably in a transient state while they add the new themes so you'll have to search for each set or theme individually. Click on the yellow 'Shop Today' image on the right and search away.
The sale has also started: check out the Sales And Deals page, there are nearly 200 sets in the sale at 25%-50% off, including Star Wars.
LEGO has noticed your concerns here and elsewhere about the lack of information on LEGO Universe subscription costs and have kindly provided the following information and a picture of the exclusive minifig!

It's disconcerting to see that Aus. and NZ are not in the list. I hope this doesn't mean it won't be available in those countries. I will try and find out for you.
Earn DOUBLE VIP Points when you make a purchase at a LEGO Store, online, or over the phone. That's effectively a 10% discount.
If you're in the USA, click through to LEGO S@H from here, then enter code FS50US to get free shipping on orders over $99.
If you're in the UK, click through to LEGO S@H from here, then enter UMAGSET at the checkout to get a free magnet set worth £5.99 when you spend over £25.
Brickset is now getting a feed from LEGO with details of all sets available at S@H. This has enabled me to add prices and direct product links to the search results and set information pages. At the moment it's only for the UK, but I hope to add US prices and links in the coming weeks. If you're in the US, you can still use the existing link, it just doesn't go directly to the product.
I hope you find them useful; be sure to click-through and buy, and thanks to those of you that have already used them.
We have received many e-mails about comments being deleted from a certain news article. Due to an outbreak of members abusing the comments facility on the news article in question, I have been forced to delete many comments from said article. The reason some newer comments have been deleted is because they relate to the deleted comments. Please do not continually put comments up asking why previous ones have been deleted. I hope this clears up the matter for everyone, and thank you for your co-operation.
Ronbonne reports that he has purchased some Mindstorms sensors from Shop At Home (US) and discovered they have a "silent" sale going on. Most sensors were 20% discounted; the "silent" part of this sale is that you only find out what the discount is once you put the items in you shopping basket; the lower prices are NOT listed on the item pages..!
The LEGO Group has posted their latest Annual Report and for the most part it is good news, especially for the City theme. Included are some reasons as to why EXO-FORCE is to be cancelled, good and bad news for BIONICLE - three more movies? Wow! Plus the LEGO Group's expectations for the coming year. Take a look, it makes for a good read!
Someone must have been doing some serious sniffing around to find this: If you go to http://www1.lego.com/eng/service/replacementparts.asp#content and type in the following set numbers, you can see an inventory and set name for each:
10184 Town Plan
10185 Green Grocer
10186 General Grievous
10187 Volkswagen Beetle
10188 SW Death Star
10189 Taj Mahal
Thanks to dr01d3k4 for the info.
Today marks the 50th anniversay of the LEGO brick. It was this day, back in 1958, that LEGO were granted the patent for the stud-and-tube design of the automatic binding brick.
To mark the occasion Google's logo is made from LEGO and there are loads of news articles in papers and websites all over the world. I will be featured in an article in Southampton's Southern Daily Echo, and fellow Brickish Association members have been featured on UK TV, including BBC Breakfast on Friday, when our chairman Simon Bennett constructed a model of the studio live on air.
If there's something notable happening where you live, add a comment to let us know!
It's a bit quiet for news at the moment. I guess the frenzy of early year activity of new sets hitting the shelves is over, as is the toy fair season. Here's a few snippets of recently reported news:
- bsmarthen advises us that some of the Speed Racers sets are now available in KMart in the USA
- There are some better pictures of the space Factory sets, 10191 and 10192 floating about so I have added them here
- Argos in the UK has 25% off all LEGO and'll give you a £5 voucher when you spend over £50 and a £10 one when you spend over £100
Last but certainly not least, a very exciting piece of news:
- A book with details of 8000 LEGO sets released over the last 50 years is being published in May. This will be particularly interesting to us here at Brickset. We'll at last be able to determine how complete our database is, and maybe even find sets missing in the book. It will be available from LEGO brand stores, S@H and can be pre-ordered now from the publisher's site. As soon as we get a copy we'll post a review here.
Just order in the normal way then use the appropriate discount code at checkout, shown below with the price threshold for each country:

Austria - 36.00 EUR - AUST

LEGO have asked them to be removed from klotsky.org so I have removed the link to them.
If you're looking to buy gifts from LEGOShop.com for delivery before Christmas you'd better be quick and get ordering soon because the last shipping dates to guarantee pre-Christmas delivery are fast approaching! The exact date varies by country but for the UK it's December 16th and the USA it's December 22nd.
In previous years in the UK, the next year's sets have become available a day or two after the last shipping date, so let's hope that's the case this year so we can order our own presents for delivery just after Christmas!
If you live in the U.S., do not live near a LEGO Brand store, and do not want to pay shipping and handling for the new Creator Mr. Magorium's Big Book, don't worry! The set is available at Target stores. You have to look for it though. It is located on an endcap with a group of other vintage toys. It's not known if it's exclusive to Target stores or not, and we will report on any other sightings. Sadly, it is still not available to European consumers, but we will keep you posted...
Overflow1910 mailed us to say that he's noticed that there's a teaser page for Indiana Jones on lego.com.
What's more, he says if you click on the 4th head from the left at the bottom, you'll be rewarded with a nice wallpaper!
Eagle-eyed Brickset member LegoCoastGuard1996 has noticed that the online Pick-a-Brick selection at LEGO.com has been augmented with many new parts including new minifig torsos and heads. Check them out for yourself: UK | USA. It looks as if the average price of a complete minfig is about £1 or US$1.40 which I suppose isn't too bad.
You may have read elsewhere the announcement from Jan Beyer, Community Development Manager, LEGO:
"Regarding the low sales of the EXO FORCE line, the decision was made to stop the line at the end of 2008. The sales were good in 2006 but in 2007 the sales did not meet the expectations and the expectation was that even an expensive marketing campaign could not get the sales to the expected level."
That suprises me for two reasons. First, it's unusual to get such an annoucement about the end of a product line. I don't recall seeing something similar for Vikings, for example. Second, I'm really surprised that Exo-Force aren't selling! I for one love them and I know a lot of you do too. I guess the target audience, boys 7-10, prefer Bionicle.
There is now a page on lego.com that says to come back at 12:01 on May 3rd for more information, but it would seem that the promotion will involve a poster of every SW minifig made which you are presumably sent when you place an order over a certain amount.
I think you can only view the page if your country is set to USA (and probably Canada) so I reckon us Europeans will be out of luck :-(
(Thanks to ljr7225 for the heads-up and WedgeAntilles for additional info)
LEGO have updated the LEGO Shop on-line store to now accept orders from Norway, which has, strangely, been the notable exception to the northern/western European countries supported up until now.
Thanks to Øyvind for the news; he comments that "... it is good shopping news for us Norwegians ... prices are good; same as in the catalog and normal toy store prices."
If you live in the U.S. or Canada, and own a Wii, DS, PS3, or XBOX 360, you can now pre-order LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga Video Game directly from the LEGO website! Oddly, the ship date is listed as November 19th, instead of the 6th, as everywhere else has its release listed. The extra wait may be worth it, however, as if you order before November 30th, you get an exclusive content code on the packing slip. As far as I know, the game is still listed to be released on November 9th in the UK.
Simply click the on this image or any of the 'Buy Now' links on this site, make your product selections totalling $99 or more then quote code FSA99 when you checkout!
In response to my request for ideas for new features, someone asked for the ability to share their collection and wants lists with others. This was a quick thing to do so on the 'Sets I own' and 'Sets I want' page you'll now see a link which you can send to others to enable them to see your data. Note that you need to ensure that 'Allow other members to view my collection' is ticked on your profile otherwise they'll see a blank list.
While I was at it I have also increased the results page size from 25 rows to 50. If that slows things down too much for you them let me know and I'll reduce it again.
Check our list of sets added to LEGOShop.com (USA) regularly to keep up-to-date. I'm sure they'll be adding loads more in the coming weeks!
legoshop.com now has the entire Hero Factory line for sale - even 7179 Duncan Bulk and Vapor. Oddly, 7148 Meltdown, is only in the U.S. at the time of writing this. Price points are the same as BIONICLE, however all the canister sized sets are now bad guys instead of heroes, and all the 'big sets' are good guys only so far.
Thanks to Brickset users "cwfrontline" and "essej1213" for the news tips!
The sets are now in the data feed. I picked the yellow/red one up at the weekend in the LEGO brand store in Milton Keynes. It's actually rather good particularly given the price of less than £6 per car (including the 10% Brickish discount). A lot of nice curved pieces and no useless single-use parts.
Two of the biggest LEGO sets ever, 10030 Imperial Star Destroyer and 10143 Death Star II are currently on sale, possibly clearance, at the U.S. S@H. 10030 is already on the top sellers list, so grab these great sets while you still can, before the only opportunity to get them is Bricklink.
If you're near a LEGO brand store (Brighton, Milton Keynes or Bluewater) you should be able to grab some 2009 sets before Christmas. Bluemoose reports that in addition to the town square (priced at a very reasonable 68.50) "they have both new Indy sets (car chase & german plane), both new Star Wars 'army builder' sets, new Jedi starfighter & clone assault gun-boat thing, some of the new racer sets, the new City crane & City digger, the new mini F-14-like creator set, but no Miners or Farm yet."
No sign of them on LEGOshop.com yet though. Looks like we'll have to wait a bit longer to be able to order them from there...
The set was officially launched this week and there's a posted a cool video introduction to the set made by LEGO on YouTube.
For a few days last week LEGOshop.com listed a black NXT brick for sale in North America. It's since been pulled from their listings and attempts to find it on their site results in a page not found.
It's possible that it's version 2 of the NXT brick: we know there's a new NXT 2.0 set, 8547, due out this year. I guess it was listed in the shop by mistake!
As predicted last week (okay so I had insider information :- ) ), the Mars Mission sets are now available from LEGOshop.com Europe as are the Coast Guard and Batman sets! Plus for our junior members there are new Duplo Castle and Thomas the Tank Engine sets as well as a Circus set.
Update: they are now in the feed and listed on http://www.brickset.com/buy/uk/new.aspx
If you live in the U.K., Australia or New Zealand, you can order the new book "50 Years of the LEGO Brick" from LEGO S@H. Just click on the yellow link below, and search for item number 810002 to find it.
Update: This book is now available in German from S@H.
Once again, it is approaching a new year. For LEGO collectors, this usually means one thing: new sets! However, a word of caution, before you start stocking up on Pirates, Power Miners, and City Farm sets, make sure you have everything from this year that you want, as no one outside the LEGO Group knows exactly what will be discontinued. Based on previous years, however, it is almost a guarantee that certain sets WILL be discontinued. For instance: Star Wars Battle Packs, Racers Tiny Turbos, and BIONICLE Matoran are often hard to find around the holidays, and by the time the new year shows up, the next years line-up is there and the last years is gone. Don't forget Mars Mission is being replaced by a new Space line next year, too. Also, anything from 2007 should be snapped up fast, and it goes without saying that any Store Exclusives that are still around won't be for much longer, so grab them while you can!
This 'on-again, off-again' set is now available to European and Australasian customers of Lego Shop At Home.
I found this new picture for 7721 at the US Shop-At-Home site on Wednesday (NZ time) when this set was advertised for sale. When I checked on Thursday, the set was gone!
The elusive Special Edition EXO-FORCE set, Combat Crawler X2, previously available to American LEGO fans via Shop@Home but shortly thereafter taken down, is once again available to all of us. Let's hope that it is permanent this time!
S@H now has four new Technic sets available.
Included in this release is the impressive Off-Roader set 8297 which contains several power function components.
The first day of August sees many more of the new sets being made available from the LEGO Shop to more countries. Sets now available include the four Technic sets, the LEGO Hero Factory sets, Racers and the City "Public Transport Station" and the "City House".
The rumours were true, it's $399. Pre-order this set today, and it will ship by 16 September 2008. Be sure to click through from Brickset and use our exclusive code to get your free key chain when you order!
I'm trying to find out a European release date and price. I hope that it doesn't tranalste to anything more than £250 in the UK when we know the price here.
When the prices for the Power Functions were announced in the latest S@H catalogue, I was surprised how cheap they were. It would appear that LEGO were too once they'd re-done their calculations because the prices have increased considerably already. For example, the XL motor is listed at £3.99 but now costs £7.99.
However, if you're quick you can still order them at the old prices: Simply click-through from here, add them to your cart, then use catalogue code EJ99 or EJ80 when you check-out. You should find that the prices are reduced to the old level.
This will only work until the end of March when another catalogue is released.
Power Miners, Pirates and many more sets are now available for order from LEGOShop.com! No sign of the City Farm sets though. Has anyone found them in Europe yet?
They should appear in our product feed in the next day or so.
Update: Most of the new sets are listed on US LEGOshop.com too. Click through on the yellow link on the left to check them all out!
In the USA, a lot of products have had their prices cut today including General Grievous who you can now pick up for under $30, down from $90. See everything that's on sale!
Sadly, the half-decent products that were reduced earlier in the week in the UK have now all gone...
The eagerly awaited General Grievous model is now available to order from LEGOshop.com, £65 in the UK, $90 in the US, which for once is a slightly better exchange rate than usual for Star Wars sets.
It'll be a few days before he appears in our product feed, but don't let that stop you using the yellow link on the left to get to LEGOshop.com to order him!
They're almost here...
LEGOshop.com has listed as currently "not available" about forty-five new releases including City, Castle, Agents, Racers, Space Police and several Duplo sets for customers in Europe, the U.K., Australia and New Zealand.
I see 8169 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 is amongst the new releases but the three Power Miners sets are missing although they are available already in the shops here (NZ). I think June is going to be an expensive month!
UPDATE: The City and Castle sets, and the Lamborghini are now available for ordering!
The LEGO Factory Hobby Train, designed by LEGO AFOL's is half off at S@H. It is currently on backorder, but with a sale like this, it probably won't be long before it is sold out for good.
Sooner than expected, and cheaper than expected, the Taj Mahal is now available for £200 in the UK and $300 in the US.
With 5922-pieces, this set will keep you busy building for many hours I suspect!
The 2010 Trains sets are available from LEGOShop.com for customers in Australia, New Zealand and throughout Europe except for Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
Update: Australian and New Zealand Prices for the sets at LEGOShop.com are as follows:
If you live in the U.S., the first six missions from the new Agents theme are now available at LEGO S@H! Just click on the yellow link, and go to What's New, or better still wait until Sunday!
The Agents sets are also available at Toys R Us.
In the U.S., LEGO S@H has already lowered the price on the two Factory Space sets that were released just two months ago. It is unknown how fast they will sell out, so if you want yours, you had better grab them now!
The two LEGO Factory space sets can now be bought from LEGOshop.com in Europe. However they seem a tad expensive to me. At £70 (or €100 in Germany) for under 1000 pieces they do not compare well with Market Street, for example, which is £10 cheaper and has about 400 more parts. They don't seem to be available from LEGOshop.com in the US, but I suspect they'll be somewhat less than $150, which the exchange rate would suggest given the European prices.
The next modular building, 10211 Grand Emporium, is now listed at LEGOShop.com, and will be shipping at the end of February in North America and Europe.
I was anticipating that LEGO would 'big-up' its launch because, you may remember, they asked me to remove the images we posted at the beginning of January so as not to spoil the surprise. I guess that given none of the other fan sites pulled the images, they decided not to bother.
Update 6th Feb: For some reason the set has been removed entirely from LEGOshop.com: the links above lead nowhere now. All very strange, particularly given it's already for sale in UK brand stores.
They have been spotted in shops all over the place and they're now in our product feed from LEGOShop.com for US and UK customers. Check them out and buy them now!
In addition to the new Minifigures able to be purchased on the online shop (currently number 4 on the top sellers list!) there were more late 2010 sets added afterwards! The rest of the Atlantis sets were added, including the hard-to-find 8080 Undersea Explorer (will be a store exclusive in the U.S., currently unknown which store it will be exclusive to), the rest of the Kingdoms sets are out, more World Racers, and well as the rest of the 2009 games! Grab them while you can, the few that were released earlier this week are already high on the best-sellers list.
The Factory fan-designed Space Skulls set is now 75% off at LEGOShop.com! It's now priced at just £13.99 in the UK and $19.98 in the USA. At that price it's a bit of a bargain, so click through on the image and buy a few today!
After having been listed as "sold out" during the holiday period, the Winter Toy Shop is again available, but is on back-order until 05 February 2010. This is good news for all those who missed out on this set - including me!
Note: At this time, the Winter Toy Shop is only available to Shop-At-Home customers in Europe, New Zealand and Australia.
The much anticipated Winter Toy Shop can now be ordered from LEGOshop.com priced £39.15 in the UK, as previously reported, and US$60 in the USA. It's not yet in our product feed and is a job to actually find on the LEGO site (searching for 10199 or Winter Toy Shop is unsuccessful) so use these links to order it: UK | USA (thanks dermott47)
Also, whung found two more Christmas sets in the LEGO instructions cache: 30008 Snowman and 30009 Christmas Tree. As if there weren't enough holiday sets to buy already!
UPDATE - These sets are starting to appear in LEGO Brand Stores & Imagination Centers; we have received confirmed reports from the US (Minneapolis) & the UK (Milton Keynes), so it's presumably in the German stores too.
Another update: As proof that LEGO read Brickset, I've been asked to inform you that searching for the terms mentioned above DOES now work!
The Coastguard platform, Agents Mission 7 and the Republic Fighter Tank are now available from LEGOshop.com in the USA. Check the list of sets added in the last two weeks to see and buy!
This year's large Creator sets are now available to order from LEGOshop.com in Europe. Why not order through Brickset today and claim your FREE Tie Fighter bag charm!
Farm sets 7634 Tractor, 7636 Combine Harvester and 7637 Farm are now available from shop.lego.com for North American customers.
For US and Canadian customers, LEGOshop.com has now listed as available many of the Summer release sets including City, Castle, Agents, Power Miners, Racers, Space Police and Duplo's Thomas the Tank sets.
Several new sets have been released on LEGO's website for U.S. and Canadian consumers. Among these are the Target-exclusives previously reported on, such as 7036 Dwarves' Mine, as well as 7664 TIE Crawler. Also available are the Creator bundle, Mr. Magorium's Big Book and a Luke Skywalker Pilot Maquette. Sadly, these two, as well as 7036, are currently unavailable to European customers. Let's hope this changes soon!
8039 is now listed on LEGOShop.com, priced at £97.85 in the UK and €139 in most Euro-zone countries, and is available now.
This is sure to be a popular set: it's been in Brickset's popular searches list since day one of the new site launch and is in the top ten of the most wanted set list, so order 8039 Venator-class Republic Attack Cruiser from LEGOshop.com now!
It's still marked as unavailable in the US and Canada.
LEGO's products launched in 2009 list now lists all summer releases, even the Star Wars ones, although these, and the Space Police 3 sets are marked as not available and the SW sets (other than 8039) have no images.
Thanks to Steven M for the tip-off!.
EDIT - It looks like the 3 new Castle & 2 of the new Space Police sets are now priced & available to order across most of Europe & Australia/New Zealand. Oddly, Space Police is still not listed for Germany or Austria.
The set we've all been waiting for can now be ordered from Shop At Home. Those of you in the US and Canada might have to wait a little longer.
Following up from yesterday's story, the new At-At is now available in the U.S and Canada. Unfortunately, it doesn't include batteries.
The release of the summer sets continues at LEGOshop.com. The three new Space Police 3 sets are available in the UK and Europe and the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia has made an appearance in North America. The Lamborghini looks great, and it's good to see a supercar that is not red or yellow. I suspect it won't look so good without the stickers, though. I'm averse to stickers: you get one shot at them and if you blow it the set's ruined...
July 1st: half way through the year and many of the second-half-of-year sets have been added to LEGoshop.com in all regions. HERO Factory, Technic, Atlantis second wave, 4 new games to name but a few. No sign of the Star Wars sets though.
The Indiana Jones set "Peril in Peru" is now available on back-order from the LEGO Internet shop. The set will ship by 04 August 2008.
This much-anticipated book is now available! Personally I can't wait to get hold of a copy. It will be very interesting to see how its coverage compares with Brickset. It claims to cover "nearly every LEGO set produced".
I plan to write a full review as soon as I have a copy.
LEGO Shop-At-Home in the US now has the six Bionicle Mistika sets listed.
They have appeared in our data stream at last! To help you keep up-to-date with what's available I have created a new 2008 page which you can get to easily from the graphic link above.
If you're in the UK the list is currently blank; we won't be seeing anything new until a few days before Christmas at the earliest!
The official LEGO website states that set 10185 Green Grocer will be available tomorrow, Feb 22. Finally, another set to add to the modular street that LEGO is building up!
Update: Apparently it was an error, as the set has not shown up yet. We will be sure to tell you when it does.
The Green Grocer set is now available for Shop At Home customers in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
[Unfortunately our product feed is usually 2 days late, so the 'buy now' link for UK customers isn't appearing here yet. You can still click on the yellow ad. on the left of this page and buy it though -- Huw]
The new Green Grocer set, released over the weekend almost worldwide, is now available for everyone, as it showed up on LEGO S@H this morning for $149.99. 7041 Troll Battle Wheel also showed up, as well as 8953 Makuta Icarax, for a full $5 less than at Toys'R'Us. Sadly, 7041 is currently not available to U.K. consumers, but almost every other 2008 Castle set is, so there are plenty of other sets to choose from.
You can now order the AT-OT for immediate dispatch.
If you're in the USA use this link: Republic Dropship with AT-OT Walker . The price is $249.99.
In the UK for once we have a reasonable exchange rate, better in fact than that quoted at xe.com at the moment (1 USD = 0.690784 GBP) so use this link Republic Dropship with AT-OT Walker to order it for £166.35 before LEGO see the error of their ways and increase the price.
Note: ordering through the links above helps me to run this website. If you like what I do, please show your support!
