It's about time they had a Star Wars sale.

Posted by cjg in United States, 02 Dec 2010 18:14

Yay!! A star wars sale!

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 02 Dec 2010 19:11

I think I've received more emails from Toys R Us this month than from all of my family members combined! :o) If only this coupon were valid online...

Posted by legobob in United States, 02 Dec 2010 19:43

YAY!

Posted by Tomrulz25 in United States, 02 Dec 2010 20:38

I dont get credit for sending this in to you guys?

Posted by madforLEGO in United States, 02 Dec 2010 20:42

Yes, because no one else could possibly get this coupon.. other than anyone that has shopped TRU.com and asked to receive their fliers

Posted by voypro in United States, 02 Dec 2010 21:10

I was thinking about a couple of Slave 1's... until I saw the online price is $89.99. Any suggestion for a good deal on anything there?

Also, Everyone be on the look out for $3.99 polybag 30005 Imperial Speeder Bike w/Stormtrooper
http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=30005-1

I just bought several tonight at my local tru. They had being limiting these to 1 per day, I have been going in daily getting my 1 per day. I think they figured out no one else cared, because they finally took them out from behind the counter and shelved them. I found and bought 14.

It is great set for the figure alone. good luck to all finding them.

is this just us or canada too?

Posted by Farmer_John in United States, 02 Dec 2010 22:31

I have been having issues with our local TRU store. They advertise something, and when you go to get it they've never stocked it there. The old bait and switch con to reel people into their store. I wouldn't mind so much except it's an absolute traffic nightmare getting to the darn place!

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 02 Dec 2010 23:52

@voypro - I know what you mean...I'm not sure if I can find anything good to pair up...

Posted by voyanui8768 in United Kingdom, 03 Dec 2010 02:46

@voypro In the U.K. you could get that set for free with the Daily Mirror. And if you didn't already get the paper then you'd still only be paying 45p for the set :D

Posted by natro220 in United States, 03 Dec 2010 09:01

@yellowcastle - what about the Slave 1 and the Battle for Endor? I tend to lean more towards the classic Star Wars sets, rather than Ep 1-3 or Clone Wars, so I think that is what I'll be getting. Thanks for the coupon, I appreciate it!!

Posted by voypro in United States, 03 Dec 2010 09:40

I hate to say it, but I get a greater satisfaction from printing off extra coupons and covertly giving them to TRU customers that buying legos anyway, which are unaware of the coupon. If you see someone with one Star Wars Lego in hand, tell them about the offer then give them a coupon. If all else fails quietly leave a few coupons in the Star Wars Lego section.

RE: Slave 1:

TRU price for two = $90 + $45 =$135, which means price for 1 = $67.50
walmart price for one =$69.97

$2.47 savings = Yawn

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 03 Dec 2010 10:11

I already have an Endor set and more battlepacks than I can shake a stick at. I might just be skipping this Star Wars sale. Right now, I'm most thinking about the Log Cabin, Sonic Boom, and the 2 Kingdoms battlepacks.

@ emilejzp: Sadly, this isn't in Canada. BOGO sales are only in US. The last BOGO sale they had in Canada was in Christmas 2007, and boy was that BOGO sale good.

Posted by Stash in United States, 03 Dec 2010 11:35

Just FYI, this BOGO half off also applies to the minifigures! I got lucky and they had 2 displays of series 3. I only got 16, but at 3 bucks each and half for only 1.50 that was a steal. Good luck if you are lucky enough to see some in stock during this sale. Also, did not need a coupon for the discount, it was just on sale in the system.

Posted by natro220 in United States, 03 Dec 2010 12:05

@Stash - you DO need the coupon to get the BOGO 50% off on Star Wars sets. All other sets on sale ring up that way automatically.

Posted by Stash in United States, 03 Dec 2010 12:45

Ah, my apologies.

Posted by DHCP1121 in United States, 03 Dec 2010 14:02

I too saw two boxes of series 3 when I was looking for the 30005 Imperial Speeder Bike w/Stormtrooper. I picked up both boxes (both full) and 16 30005. If you are looking for them don't go to the North Riverside TRU, sorry.

Posted by MisterFubar in United States, 03 Dec 2010 14:07

Went in to use the coupon and didn't find anything I couldn't live without so I gave the coupon to an older woman buying sets for her grandson. Looks like he's going to get a TIE Defender and an X-Wing.

I did score some Series III minifigs though so it wasn't a waste of a trip.

Posted by Mabes in United States, 03 Dec 2010 14:32

In my opinion, this is best utilized on the larger sets that rarely get discounted, like Tantive IV, AT-AT, or Battle of Endor. Since this is in-store only, I'd recommend calling first to see if they have what you want in stock.

Posted by PaulTR in United States, 03 Dec 2010 14:49

Sweet deal! However, like Mabes said, it might be good to call first and see if they have the set you want. I also thinks its great that a lot of people gave their coupons away to other people when they didn't find what they wanted. Just goes to show you how great LEGO collectors are ;)

Posted by mkoesel in United States, 03 Dec 2010 15:28

Such a shame that TRU does not carry the UCS jedi Startfighter. Even though its on sale for $25 off at lego.com now, I could have paired it with an AT-AT at TRU and saved $50. Other than that, the only other 2010 Star Wars I still need are the Target and WalMart exclusives.

Does anyone know if this coupon allows you to pair a Star Wars set with a non-Star Wars set since the latter are also on sale BOGO50 this week?

Posted by BlueKeet in United States, 03 Dec 2010 15:57

Well, I'm not too impressed with the pricing at my tru (Los Angeles area). Slave 1 was 99 and Endor 120. I did leave a coupon next to the Star Wars sets in case someone else is interested and that was fun. Nice markup for the holidays/sale.

Posted by natro220 in United States, 03 Dec 2010 15:58

@mkoesel - doubtful you can mix up the BOGO's, as TRU usually puts them on sale seperately and that's how they ring up. I'll find out tonight though when I go there.

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 03 Dec 2010 16:53

I don't imagine the two deals will pair, especially since there is a coupon involved for one of the deals. They would usually notate Mix and Match, or such.

Posted by JamesBenjamin in United States, 03 Dec 2010 17:48

The coupon says on it "one per cust" meaning one use, one pair of items, but I was able to get a whole mess of the stormie/speeder set with one coupon.

Posted by AZFIREWOLF in United States, 03 Dec 2010 19:02

Both BOGOs are still going on. The manager at the store I stopped at said that he was shocked that the coupon came out, but was glad it did. If you are going to go be a nice person and give an extra coupon to someone in the store. I did it this morning and the mother just looked at me and was shocked. Happy Holidays.

I didn't know what to do with this, so I'll put it -

Stumbled across 2 stormtrooper polybags this evening which were a perfect fit for the Star Wars coupon. :o)
