    10215: Obi-Wan’s Jedi Starfighter

I have it on good authority that the Obi-Wan's Jedi Startfighter (10215) will be reduced by 30% tomorrow to a more reasonable £66-ish.

LEGO has come to its senses, it seems, probably prompted by a huge unsold stack of them in a warehouse at Billund! It's an excellent model and a very interesting build, but probably not, if I'm honest, worth £95. But £66 is much nearer the mark and if you've been holding out for its price to drop, well, now you're in luck. It'll be at that price until the end of January.

Update: It being tomorrow now :-), the price has indeed been reduced by 30%...

Only UK? :-(

Only this set or are their likely to other sets in the "January" sale?

Posted by flash0222 in United States, 21 Dec 2010 14:52

Looks like it's down to $74.98 on shop.lego.com already. (at least for me in the US)
Much better looking price for this kit :)

I still say that had this have been an OT set they wouldn't have to do this. They could release a UCS twin-pod cloud car and it'd sell better.

Looks like a good offer, £66 is more reasonable but I still wont get it as I am saving towards the 2011 star wars stuff which looks fantastic.

On the US website, it is on sale, too; down from $99.99 to $74.98 in USD. Not a very great deal if uou ask me...
EDIT: FAIL! I posted this before I read flash0222's comment. Oops.

£66 = much better price per piece ratio. I think I'll buy this set in the next few days once I receive my pay for this month.

Posted by Huffy1968 in United Kingdom, 21 Dec 2010 18:57

The set was horribly overpriced to begin with. If I were TLC I would keep the price reduced.

Posted by rainstorm26 in United States, 21 Dec 2010 20:03

I was not excited about this set when it came out. I wouldn't buy it even if it came down to $30.

Posted by gruetzmacherd in United States, 21 Dec 2010 21:51

As a few have already noted, this set is already marked down to USD 74.98 on the US website.
For what it is worth, this set has been listed at this reduced price since the beginning of December.

The trouble is... when you see the set marked down to $75 US, which is roughly £50 UK... you still can't help but get the feeling UK customers are still being penalised somehow because it's ONLY 30% off. I'll wait to see if they end up doing what they had to do for the TIE Defender, and discount it 50% just to clear the stock.

69.99 E in France. Finally !

Posted by testman57 in Luxembourg, 22 Dec 2010 05:53

Interestingly, it is now 33,99 EUR in Luxembourg...

Posted by fff in Spain, 22 Dec 2010 08:24

Will It be at that price until the end of January? or December?

Posted by Sand Raider in United States, 22 Dec 2010 10:30

^^^^^^ On the contrary (howevere that is spelled), I might get it if it was $30. It has a little over 500 pieces, and I believe that would be a pretty good deal. If LEGO keeps it around for that long...

Posted by lukehankenobi in United Kingdom, 22 Dec 2010 11:46

It doesn't appear to be on sale yet in Brighton Lego Store, though i was hopeful

Nice to see it come down a bit. I always liked the set, but it is incredibly overpriced. At 30% off, I might get it, I guess we'll see. Thats crazy about Luxembourg - 66% off! A Real steal, I would be buying them up quickly at that rate!

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 23 Dec 2010 10:13

@lukehankenobi - did you ask them to check the price at the checkout? They may not have had chance to change the prices on the boxes yet. The staff in the UK stores are really over-worked at the moment; as well as coping with the xmas rush & setting up for the sale, they've got a lot of staff off sick so are really short-handed.
