THANK YOU! At last, the long awaited Diagon Alley has come to the world! Now all I need is Shop At Home to sell it, me somehow to get $150, and then my LEGO Town wil be complete... at least for now.

AAAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!! You U.K.-ians always get the good stuff!
EDIT: The picture looks great, and so does the set. :)

Westfield brand store has it on the shelf as well.

jonbuddy - we get LOTS of stuff here in the states before anywhere else...(S3 minifigures for instance)...glad to see the UK get something first. Looks awesome, can't wait to get it! : )

Nice - that'll be my first LEGO purchase of 2011. Probably. :-)

$150 for this set is a good price. I will buy at least one.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

Urgh!! I want it sooooo baaadd!!

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 24 Dec 2010 11:48

I'm suffering buyer's remorse over this set ... I didn't pick one up & now I'm regretting it ;-)
I did buy a load of other sets, so it isn't all bad.

@natro, Well, I'm still jealous of all the Daily Mirror promos.

^BLUEMOOSE! How dare you! :P

we didn't need the pic to prove it i would take your word for it.

i still can not understand why they can not give the 'go' for everybody everywhere...

Posted by meccanotwitch in United Kingdom, 24 Dec 2010 14:41

I am looking forward to buying this set, but holding back with my cash for the shop @ home sales. Anyone know when this will be, apart from whats already listed.

Posted by JP82 in United Kingdom, 24 Dec 2010 14:51

@fff LEGO is one of the worlds biggest toy manufacturers. Selling their products through multiple channels, and millions of individual retailers. It would be impossible for them to just give one single 'go' order and have everywhere in the world be aware of that at the same time. That's why new launches like this are given a set date. In this case January. But inevitably people will have them hit their shelves early. January is more of a guideline.

@meccanotwitch, given the exclusivity of this set, I wouldn't hold out for it going into the sale. The LEGO d2c sales will only be old or exiting lines of stock.

Posted by meccanotwitch in United Kingdom, 24 Dec 2010 15:16

@JP82, I meant old stock, then buy the 10217 later on in January.
I think Lego have got the price about right for this set.

The Lego Diagon Alley is almost identical to the one in the Harry Potter Years 1-4 videogame :-)
Also, why does the picture only show the heads of Hagrid and Lucius Malfoy?

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 24 Dec 2010 16:57

Wow! I just can't wait to buy all the new Star Wars sets. I'll wait till I can get some kind of deal on them in stores or even get free shipping. on S@H. But I'm still backed up with tons of HP at home. I am really looking to getting Diagon Alley in the U.S. as well - it looks like one of the best and most unique UCS specials ever released!

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 24 Dec 2010 17:45

Now they just need to make Hogsmeade.

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 24 Dec 2010 17:46

Exactly! I don't think if anyone remembers the Harry Potter online game from Prisoner of Azkaban, but it should be like that, except bigger.

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 24 Dec 2010 18:15

@Huw - Are you aware that only the hairpiece of Lucius and the head of Hagrid are in the shot you have as the main picture of Diagon Alley? It's a preliminary shot, and a box picture might represent the set better. You don't have to change this, but it has kind of bothered me for a long time.

Up to now (10.51 CET, Dec. 25th), price for Italy is an outstanding 47,99 Euros, 100 Euros off/wrong.

Zacherano It's like that for all the HP sets at S@H: The prelims are default so Brickset copied :-)

It was being put on the shelves in the Chandler store this morning. They also went through 2 boxes of series 3 within the first 45 mins of the store opening. Glad I got mine.
