Mkoesel tells us that "Target stores are selling NinjaGo as of today. I picked up the 2257 Starter Set and was pleasantly surprised. It turns out that spinning minifigs at a very high RPM for no other reason than to bash them together is more fun than expected."

hey, slightly off topic but my local toys r us in uk now has all the ninjago sets. im not really interested in them but they are here.

Posted by The Green Brick Giant in United States, 27 Dec 2010 07:51

I worked at TRU until Friday. We stuck them out two weeks ago but had to take them down. They are rather strict. The non game sets look better than people think. However ninjas shouldn't be fighting skellies, it's weird. They should fight pirates!

Posted by Takeshi in Canada, 27 Dec 2010 08:57

@ The Green Brick Giant: Yeah, that would be a better idea.
Does anyone know of the availability in Canada?

Posted by Thrund in United Kingdom, 27 Dec 2010 09:23

@burakki62 - yes, I also found them in a UK TRU. I bought the Ninja Ambush which was actually £1 cheaper than listed on the Lego website.

@The Green Brick Giant - You just know that whoever came up with the idea was thinking Ninjas vs Zombies, and then someone else decided Skellies would work better!

Posted by herolegoman in United Kingdom, 27 Dec 2010 09:33

They have them at tescos
thrund could idea about ninjas vs zombies

Posted by phaser blast in Canada, 27 Dec 2010 09:48

takeshi they are at toysrus in canada i got one so they are hear

Posted by jlegofan in United States, 27 Dec 2010 10:09

Does this include the building sets or just the card game sets?

Posted by mkoesel in United States, 27 Dec 2010 11:04

@jlegofan - They had both game sets and building sets. I recall seeing the chopper, the "tank", the bad guy fortress among others. As for the game sets, they had all six of the current release plus the starter set which is the one I bought.

I am curious if this release is sanctioned and happening nationwide or if some locations are perhaps breaking some apparent January 1st embargo...

Posted by Doctor Leg O'Brick in United Kingdom, 27 Dec 2010 12:03

Tip for you Brickseters that have Meg?b>;@s, make a crude spiner and lunch it at a moving cars wheel.....

Now that i have got that out the way, NinjaGo is more money than i am willing to pay for. One minifigure costs £2-£3 here, with some minifigures with a bike or a trolly £4-£5. This is the money i was willing to pay for one of them. Are well...

Posted by Ypres in Canada, 27 Dec 2010 13:17

I just love the higher prices in Canada! If I wanted to buy a guy with a top and cards it would cost around $15! Sorry, but I could buy a Starwars battlepack for that. Seriously though, someone in the US should just flip over to the Canadian side of Lego.com and get a good laugh about what the suckers up north have to pay. Of course they too would remember just how close our dollars have been.

A little off topic... but while looking through the Lego.com (US,Can) I noticed in the Themes section, over the creator, instead of saying 'new!' in English it's in some weird Asian looking text!

Got into Target.com and found this:

http://www.target.com/Lego-LEGO-Mars-Exploration-Rover/dp/B00008WFWM/ref=sr_1_21?ie=UTF8&searchView=grid5&keywords=lego&fromGsearch=true&sr=1-21&qid=1293474297&rh=&searchRank=target104545&id=Lego%20LEGO%20Mars%20Exploration%20Rover&node=1038576|1287991011&searchSize=90&searchPage=3&searchNodeID=1038576|1287991011&searchBinNameList=subject

Is it the most insane find ever?

Too bad its stores only. Otherwise I would've bought one already.

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 27 Dec 2010 13:58

i can also confurm that they are in canada, yesterday i got, the skeliten bike, the ice dragon, the turbo shreader, and garmodons dark fortress, and my brother got all of the spinners, and the two cheapest sets. they had all normal sets execpt for the dojo.

Posted by cjg in United States, 27 Dec 2010 13:59

^That is AWESOME. About half the store close to me say 'limited availability', the others say 'out of stock' and one actually says 'available'. I wonder if it actually is available? :P

Does anyone know if they have Ninjago and Pharaohs quest in the Lego Stores?

Posted by BrickManBrick in United States, 27 Dec 2010 14:40

I'm very suprised that Tatget is getting these sets at this time of year. It takes them forever to get new themes and, they always have a bad seliction of old sets that I already have. Does anybody know if Lego Ningago is availble anywhere else than Target?

Posted by BooMakuta! in United States, 27 Dec 2010 14:54

It's not just NinjaGo. Target also has the 2011 City, Hero Factory, Pharaoh's Quest, Star Wars and Atlantis sets. They probably also have more, I just didn't have time to see.

Posted by Carnigee77 in United States, 27 Dec 2010 15:15

Hmm... this would be a good time fo rTarget to put out the collectable minifigures......

Posted by mkoesel in United States, 27 Dec 2010 16:08

@BrickManBrick - As far as I know, no other retail chain in the US is selling these yet. This is why I felt it was newsworthy enough to send into Brickset.

@BooMakuta - True, but those themes are also found at Lego stores, lego.com, and TRU. NinjaGo won't be found at those places until January 1st, or so we've been told.

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 27 Dec 2010 16:14

@ Unknown User2596 - Wow! That's a crazy discount. Even better, the set is from 2003!

Posted by Orange Lemons in United States, 27 Dec 2010 16:52

Aww, I was just at Target yesterday, but they didn't have any and they weren't really cleared out from Christmas like TRU and Wal Mart. Maybe they need to empty those shelves faster than the rate they usually go dry from holidays by having a huge clearance blowout sale. :)

Posted by teal93mr2 in United States, 27 Dec 2010 17:32

I went to 2 local targets today and neither had ninjago. However they did have a ton of various sets on clearance, ended up picking up atlantis octopus for only 1.99 and clone walker battle pack for 8.00. Toys R us also did not have any ninjago.

Posted by yys4u in United States, 27 Dec 2010 18:13

@ Unknown User2596 I checked the target and a couple stores near me had it as available, but when i went to the nearest store they were no where to be found

Posted by jjfan in United States, 27 Dec 2010 18:21

I'm still on the fence about Ninjago. And the free Ninjago Sensei keychain offer from LEGO makes it even harder to decide.

One quick side note: the Clone Walker Battle Pack (8014) is half price at Meijer. The reason for this is because it was considered a Christmas stocking stuffer. You can also find them in the regular LEGO aisle but when scanned they ring up at the sale prcie. So it makes it $4.99 for 4 minifigs.

Posted by dotnetters in United States, 27 Dec 2010 18:57

If anyone is from Denver I just found series 3 figs at Walmart on Arapahoe and Chambers in Southeast Aurora. 4 Boxes!

Posted by Unknown User2596 in United States, 27 Dec 2010 19:17

Not all Targets are selling Ninjago; mine (Stevens Creek) has none in the store floor yet.
However, there are some sets on clearance (prices are approx.):
-8078 Portal of Atlantis ($84)
-7570 The Ostrich Race ($11)
-09 battlebacks for $11
-5969 Squidman Escape ($5)
-5982 Smash 'n' Grab ($11)
-8057 Wreck Raider ($10) (still overpriced!)
That's all I remember...

Posted by r3s6714 in United States, 27 Dec 2010 19:34

what states are they in?

Posted by LEGOCollector2504 in United States, 27 Dec 2010 21:20

@yys4u- same thing here. I checked at a local Target, only to (obviously), not find the Mars Rover. I checked with customer service, who, after finding the item code on the website, typed it into their computers. It somehow registered as Kingdoms Outpost Attack. Wasn't expecting to find the Rover anyways. No NinjaGo either. Battle of Alamut and Sands of Time were on clearance.

Posted by Uno Brick in United States, 28 Dec 2010 00:31

Wow, at Target already? That's nice, looks we can still get NinjaGo a few days early without having to go to TRU.

Posted by yys4u in United States, 28 Dec 2010 00:42

@LEGOCollector2504 yea i didn't expect to find it either, mainly looking for ninjago

@jjfan Im with you too, I'm on the fence about it too, the last ninja sets were legit but these...i dont understand why they are fighting skeletons wit big smiles, and why do the skeletons have giant vehicles...doesn't fit the time era at all i think its too much of a stretch. I checked out Target to get a closer look at both of them but they didn't have either

Posted by mkoesel in United States, 28 Dec 2010 08:44

@r3s6714 - I am in Michigan.

Based on the the otherr reports above, it sounds like not all Targets have them yet. This leads me to believe that the Target store I went to may very well have put them out on the shelf before they were supposed to. I will try to swing by the store again today and see if they still have them for sale, or if they've returned them to the stock room.

Posted by BrickManBrick in United States, 28 Dec 2010 10:41

People, I think Target is not selling these sets yet. They were probebly put out by mistake at some targets. I checked the website, they don't have it.

Posted by IlovePowerMiners in United Kingdom, 28 Dec 2010 10:47

Checked my local store, none. They were actually sold out of all LEGO because of Christmas!!! :C

Posted by voypro in United States, 28 Dec 2010 11:14

No Ninjago at my local Target. But while you are there checking for them, Go by their marked down Christmas section. Many polybags were in their stocking stuffer section, I picked up a few polybags for 50% off, making them $1.99 instead of $3.99.

When they hit 75% off (which will be anytime between now and the next few days) that would make $3.99 polys $.99 cents. (or $2.99 polys, $.75 cents)

Posted by MisterGeolix814 in United States, 28 Dec 2010 13:27

I better hit Target soon.

Posted by Duraz in United States, 28 Dec 2010 14:03

They don't have them at my target yet.

Posted by goshe7 in United States, 28 Dec 2010 14:13

@LEGOCollector2504 - When they checked the The Mars Rover inventory code at my target, it came up as some Science Lab kit, out of stock at all area Targets (central Ohio). Online check prior to visit showed it in stock at many. So based on comments here I think it conclusively some weird website posting and not real.

The one target I visited did have all the Ninjago sets. Small packs look nice. My draw dropped when I saw the price for the minifig + card blister packs: $10 or $20.

Posted by goshe7 in United States, 28 Dec 2010 14:26

@voypro - Was it all polybags or just the World Racers? TS3 (mini jeep) was still $3.99 at my Target. Wouldn't mind getting some of those at $1.99.

Posted by voypro in United States, 28 Dec 2010 20:02

@goshe7 and all - It was the 30002 police boat
http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=30002-1
my store must have 100 left. No other polybag set though. I am checking my other store for Ninjago tonight and will advise.

Posted by voypro in United States, 28 Dec 2010 23:05

Hey all, just hit my other local Target, no Ninjago. I checked the Christmas section and they did have one polybag Atlantis 30042. Although, it was smack dab in the middle of the 50% off clearance section; it did not scan as 50% off. I went to the service desk and they let me have them at 50% off. So check them at the price checker before you head to the register, you may have to stop at the service desk like I did.

Then I hit Wal-Mart. a bunch of pallets had Legos on them... MANY boxes of Ninjago. All of them had don't shelve til 1/1/11 date on the case. A stock dude was real cool and he even open some cases for me. I did not want to get him in trouble, so I mentioned the release date. Price on the single Ninjago dude was $9.84. Also, they had Star Wars Battle on Naboo. Also, Pretty much the entire line of Pharoahs Quest.

Posted by yys4u in United States, 29 Dec 2010 02:33

I went to two targets and called another, they didn't have ninjago and i checked for minifigures but none either. Maybe lego is making places uphold the release date to give people a more fair chance.

DId however see a Castle set, it was the Troll Mountain Fortress. I never wanted this set, but now that its discontinued and was on sale for 85 bucks i was really tempted...Didn't end up buying it but may go be tomorrow. This does anyone have an opinion on whether its a good deal?

Posted by BrickManBrick in United States, 29 Dec 2010 10:47

@yys4u - That is a great deal. The set is discontinued and it;s only 85 bucks! People Can sell that for like 150 bucks on eBay! I say you should go buy that set! :D

Posted by mkoesel in United States, 29 Dec 2010 15:57

I swung by the store yesterday and the NinjaGo sets are indeed still on the shelf. It was interesting (and not surprising, I have to admit, given the price-points) that the boxed play sets seem to have sold well while there were still lots of the spinner/card sets available.

And speaking of the Troll Mountain Fortress, this Target also happens to have one of those (or did as of yesterday evening, anyway) and if I am not mistaken it was marked won to $59. So that's a great deal on a discontinued set for someone. In case anyone reading happens to live in the area, the Target is located in Livonia, Michigan on the corner of Plymouth Rd. and Middlebelt Rd.

Posted by yys4u in United States, 29 Dec 2010 18:44

Yea I went back to buy the troll mountain fortress and I found another one there too, so i was bummed it was as rare as i suspected. Then later I went to the Target in Buena Park and they had at least 10 troll mountain fortresses.... didn't check the price though, if anyone can confirm the price let us know, If i payed too much im returning

And no ninjago at the two targets I checked...again

Posted by es09 in Australia, 30 Dec 2010 02:56

they are in australia :)

Posted by Squicman in Finland, 30 Dec 2010 15:09

they aren't in finland yet, but I won starterpacks with my little brother from denmark. And ninjas vs. piretes is better than ninjas vs. zombies!

Posted by Unknown User2596 in United States, 30 Dec 2010 20:11

Spotted more sets on clearance, ranging from 15%-30% or even 50% [PoP]. Still no Ninjago but they put out a huge display box. The spinners are really small [12 x 12 studs], but are fun to spin. Also saw a SW display.

Posted by FlameBlast in United States, 30 Dec 2010 20:19

lego ninjago is awsome i bought 4 sets at target i got the ice dragon, the training outpost, ninja ambush, and skull motor bike at target in college point yesterday next to pc richards, waldbaums fresh, tj max, and stapeles. go to that target you can find those sets, gardomon's palace, and many of the other sets that were released recently;)

Posted by FlameBlast in United States, 30 Dec 2010 20:24

Posted by grendelscott in United States, 30 Dec 2010 23:35

AZ people...Target at Indian Bend and 101 had Ninjago and some of the new SW sets as of this afternoon.

Posted by Mathtrains in United States, 01 Jan 2011 16:19

Target has the 3661 Bank and Money Transfer set for $49.99. They also had the rest of the new police sets, Pharaoh's quest, and a huge NinjaGo area.

Posted by BrickManBrick in United States, 03 Jan 2011 22:25

They are available in the Target at college point, NY. I met FlameBlast there and i got the same sets he got. They have most 2011 sets.

Posted by Brock the Builder in United States, 04 Jan 2011 21:43

Has anyone else noticed that the Spinjitzu Dojo set is only $39.99 at Target vs. $49.99 at Lego, TRU, and Wal-Mart? I wonder if Target has special pricing on this set? If not, someone messed up internally and they will surely realize it soon. This is probably the reason that the Spinjitzu Dojo is out-of-stock online and at most Target stores. Glad I scooped one when I did-- it is a VERY cool set but is over-priced at $50 in my opinion-- but $40 is reasonable. Too bad CA tax is 9%
