A CHRISTMAS-EDITION SANTA YODA!!! :D That Advent Calendar is worth getting just to get THAT minifig! :D

Posted by mlavwilson in United States, 09 Feb 2011 11:39

Lame. I can put a Yoda head on the Santa I have.

Posted by Pepper in United States, 09 Feb 2011 11:42

HAHAHAHA! Must get that calendar!

Posted by MinifigureMan in United Kingdom, 09 Feb 2011 11:45

LOL That is awesome! I knew about the other figures and some of the vehicles but that is great! : D

Posted by Juno in United States, 09 Feb 2011 11:49

That is soooo cool! But, where's the guy who you said wasn't George Lucas? Just asking!

Posted by MinifigureMan in United Kingdom, 09 Feb 2011 11:50

Yoda ;)

Posted by bodybomb3 in United Kingdom, 09 Feb 2011 11:55

This yoda is awesome and so are the battle droid and clone pilot (to add to both armies), but I can't help notice how poor and small the vehicles look plus why are we getting more nute gunray's and chewbacca's, I already have two of both.

Posted by Juno in United States, 09 Feb 2011 11:58

bodybomb3-Maybe they ran out of ideas for it. And the vehicles are small because they have to be able to fit all the pieces in the little squares. The calender is going to be like all the city ones!

Posted by Be-Burger in Israel, 09 Feb 2011 12:00

@ Juno - if they're running out of ideas they should be asking me...
Santa Yoda isn't bad, but they should've included a hat :P

Posted by durins in United States, 09 Feb 2011 12:31

Excellent. And not the first time the little guy has worn the Big Guy's suit.

Posted by BrickBob09 in United Kingdom, 09 Feb 2011 12:34

@Be-Burger; I agree they should have put a santa hat on him.
That figure is still really cool! I bet he'll be on door 24

Posted by LeiaR2D2 in United States, 09 Feb 2011 12:35

Aw! That's cute! Santa-yoda! :) Is that all of the minifigs that come with it? It's cool but I was thinking it would be something a little bigger and more "exclusive". I mean, mostly it's just minisets and a few minifigs that alot of people have. It's cool, but not what I was expecting.

Posted by MinifigureMan in United Kingdom, 09 Feb 2011 12:51

@LeiaR2D2-Same, I wanted to get it, but now I don't really, it isn't really worth me buying.

Posted by LukeSkywalker in Ireland, 09 Feb 2011 12:54

@LeiaR2D2 Yeah I agree, was hoping that there would be something more original in it than a santa-suited yoda, not too pushed to get that advent calender now. I would have much preferred a George Lucas figure! :)

Posted by bluelion3 in United States, 09 Feb 2011 13:04

Is something missing? It looks like the Star Wars advent calendar has only 12 items--seven vehicles and five mini-figures. There must be more to it.

Posted by Trandoshan in Canada, 09 Feb 2011 13:17

Well that's... erm... lame and unexpected. Curse you, wild speculation.

Posted by PaulTR in United States, 09 Feb 2011 13:19

Hahha! Pretty funny! However, you could just give a Santa minifigure some green hands, a Yoda head, and a short, red pair of legs to get the same effect. Still pretty funny, though!

Posted by madforLEGO in United States, 09 Feb 2011 13:34

Sorry, for the money they will probably charge for this (i am guessing it will be 45-50 USD since it is the Star Wars license) it will not be worth it. I mean the sad thing it they will sell out of them because they are SW, but for one special figure? I mean they couldn't do a bunch of droids or little vignettes? They had to resort to mini ships? That is what they did for city and THAT was a rip off for 35 dollars....
I mean I hope I am wrong and the cover does not really show the whole calendar, but if that is what they did, uhh boy.

Posted by Darthblaker74744 in United Kingdom, 09 Feb 2011 13:43

hahaha i never expected that!!!

Posted by BrianOg in France, 09 Feb 2011 13:59

Chillax dudes, calm down on all the speculation on whats inside - the outside of the calender box only gives away half of the surprises on the inside. There may very well be über-cool intergalactic stuff in there yet. I'm hoping for a Palpatine minifig, and hmmm, oh yeah, also a bikini clad Leia :P

just sayin...

Posted by spacysmoke in United States, 09 Feb 2011 14:33

Why in the world is Nute Gunray in there?

Posted by voyanui8768 in United Kingdom, 09 Feb 2011 14:42

@spacysmoke: Why not? :D Just joking, I think it is very strange. I thought the figures would be like Anakin, Obi-wan, Luke, Han, Darth Vader, a clone, a droid and yoda. Guess not!

Posted by doodlebird in United States, 09 Feb 2011 14:43

i'm with LeiaR2D2 here. yoda is awesome. that torso is new, yes? but another clone and another battle droid? that's kinda like getting socks for christmas. (apologies to all you sock-givers out there.) i'm ok with the micro-sets. i understand it's a function of the calendar restraints. i kinda like them. can't wait to see what else is in there.

Posted by LukeSkywalker in Ireland, 09 Feb 2011 15:10

I already know too much about what's inside, the surprise element has been spoiled already, and it's only February - Christmas is ruined!

Posted by Orange Lemons in United States, 09 Feb 2011 15:20

I think we all wanted a George Lucas minifig. :P

Posted by Kobacca in United States, 09 Feb 2011 15:38

I'm just dying to know what exclusive minifigure will come with the Visual Dictionary.

Posted by Berrybrick in United States, 09 Feb 2011 15:40

^Maybe that is George Lucas?^

Posted by Weakbro in United States, 09 Feb 2011 15:41

The Yoda/Santa figure is pretty funny, but the whole calendar looks pretty lame. I think they should of had more new minifigures or actual things to go with the minifigures, like a tiny battle droid cart or hologram thing, ect.

Posted by jonbuddy in United States, 09 Feb 2011 15:49

LOL Santa Yoda. :P

Posted by boboloveslego2 in United States, 09 Feb 2011 15:55

lol ok yoda looks so lame. i think it would be better if we put the old head on the suit i hate the new yoda head

Posted by CaptainJonnyBoy in United States, 09 Feb 2011 16:13

Shoot! I was way too excited about this! Now that I know what it's like, I don't want it. Thanks durins, that was hilarious.

Posted by Nightshroud99 in Canada, 09 Feb 2011 17:14

That's awesome! A New Santa torso!! One that isn't just plain red XD

Posted by Phantom in United Kingdom, 09 Feb 2011 17:15

The Mini models in the calendar are horrible, i hope there is more to the calendar(such as minifig scale sets) or else im buying the santa yoda off ebay for probably 5% of the price of the actual calendar.
Who knows how much its gonna cost anyway

Posted by cjg in United States, 09 Feb 2011 17:15

That Yoda is awesome!

Posted by Tom_2772 in United States, 09 Feb 2011 17:36

How disappointing :P

Posted by jonbuddy in United States, 09 Feb 2011 17:59

@boboloveslego2, Just replace the head!
Sell the new one on Ebay for $10. :P

Posted by Nate the Great of LEGO in United States, 09 Feb 2011 18:23

Pass.

Posted by gardenom in United States, 09 Feb 2011 18:54

And I was thinking of skipping the advent calendars this year! i would probably get this one because my 4yo is really getting into starwars and we haven't delved into that theme much. It does take the surprise out of it to say it's got a Santa figure, but oh well. I think all the advent calendars we've gotten in the past few years have had the piece list on the side so if you really wanted to know you could look anyway.

Posted by Zordboy in Australia, 09 Feb 2011 19:51

Wow, that was a little ... underwhelming. Fair enough.

Posted by legostarwarsfreak in Canada, 09 Feb 2011 20:13

santa yoda AWESOME! i am soooooo getting!! in 25 years that one minifig will be worth a lot of money!!

Posted by Da_LegoBuilder in United States, 09 Feb 2011 20:51

I would buy it. And i think i'll get 2 cause it looks cool. However, i think its a major disappointment. I was expecting like a cool minifig, and there is only 1 cool minifig (santa yoda) haha. lesson is don't get your hopes up too high :)

haha, and santa yoda was sorta predictable :)

Posted by Orthobotrex in Philippines, 09 Feb 2011 22:08

Santa Yoda: "Naughty or nice, have you been?"

The ships would be a lot nicer if there were a few print designs here and there...but that's just me. I just wish they used other figs, like a Kashyyyk trooper. :-) That would be awesome! Or maybe like what Weakbro said, a few more accessories would dispel the lame factor. If Yoda can have a back pack (did I see it right?) why not something for the clone as well, a trooper with a jet pack instead, perhaps? But what to give Nute...Hmmmm.

I'm not a fan of the prequel trilogy that much (though it has Chewie with it), but since this is Star Wars, I might buy. And (wishful thinking) it would help if the price is not too steep.

Posted by AZFIREWOLF in United States, 09 Feb 2011 23:32

HUW!!! I felt this needs to be posted in here. If you are looking for a great deal on some Star Wars sets or any series you can head over to BN.com and use the code: N7K9R7V at check out. 30% off. This is a great way to get some great prices on some sets. The code even works for pre-order sets (well it did for me)

Posted by Corellian Engineering in Belgium, 10 Feb 2011 03:55

mmm, the micro spaceships look cute, and seem to be ideal for the concept of just a couple of bricks a day..
People asking for more detailed or minifig scale seem to be forgetting what these calenders are all about.
Unless of course they also have foreseen that using all the bricks you can build one or two minifig scale vehicles.

But I agree that, except Santa Yoda, the selection of minifigs seems to be underwhelming.. Especially considering the fig-candy galore we are receiving in 2011. Its easy to understand that many were expecting that the so much anticipated SW calender would be the cherry on the pie..

Posted by Okay in United States, 10 Feb 2011 04:56

I wouldn't rule the appearance of a Yoda Claus out. Perhaps if George runs out of ideas and makes another Christmas Special... :D

Anyway, HUW, can you remember what other figs there were besides the ones pictured? And was there anything else besides micro-scaled vehicles?

Posted by max&joey in United States, 10 Feb 2011 11:41

Santa Yoda can be used as the Grinch with a lightsaber!!!! Watch out Whoville, not a happy ending this time!

Posted by voypro in United States, 10 Feb 2011 11:53

2010 advent calander cost me $37 at tru. I am guessing with Lucas lisense fees and tru's knack for seeking the deepest fathoms of our collective wallet, expect this baby to have price tag of $47, (which will hike to $54 on tru's shelve on it second shipment.)

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 10 Feb 2011 17:01

I wish they would include some new accessories with the advent calendar (Z-6 Rotary Cannon anyone?)

Posted by TBOC in United States, 10 Feb 2011 19:14

Eh, I was hoping for something better, but it is an Advent calender anyways.

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 10 Feb 2011 21:06

To all my peeps in AZ: Go check your local Fry's food Marketplace store, lots of Lego sets on clearance. They had HP hogwarts express for $55.

Posted by AZFIREWOLF in United States, 10 Feb 2011 22:43

Starfire been there done them. Even used the $6 coupon from FNE

Posted by modena in Italy, 11 Feb 2011 09:13

Cool! I have no Advent calenders or Star Wars sets! Could this be my first?

Posted by Juno in United States, 11 Feb 2011 13:51

Just so everyone knows, the picture on the front isn't all of the things it comes with! Remember all the other Advent calenders for City? They have just half of what it really came with. Hope this helps! Sorry, kinda off topic!

Posted by skipper1011 in United States, 13 Feb 2011 19:11

NOT impressed at all.

Posted by supertails387 in United States, 13 Feb 2011 20:37

Hmmmmm...

Posted by LEGO_Lord in United States, 16 Feb 2011 20:30

It isn't lame at all... now we get bright red short legs, and a new printed torso. Although, the torso looks very similar to one I made a while back... http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Lego_lord/Stickers

Posted by ScarVader in United Kingdom, 17 Feb 2011 15:38

Thats lame. I was really hoping for a George Lucas minifigure. :(
