I'm hoping that the have some pics of the star wars sets out of their boxes.
Are lego not doing anymore modular houses as there hasn't been any rumors or prelim pics :(

Posted by MinifigureMan in United Kingdom, 12 Feb 2011 06:26

Awesome! But I really wish I could go to one of these events!

Posted by Weakbro in United States, 12 Feb 2011 07:04

This is all so cool, but what about a new modular building? I'm really hoping that there will be news on that coming soon.

Posted by Berrybrick in United States, 12 Feb 2011 08:06

I really hope for new images of sets we haven't seen yet like-
*The Naboo Starfigher
*Battle for Hogwarts (built, and other side)
*Both Spongebob sets
*A pile of Cars sets
*About three Alien Conquest sets
*The Forrbidden Forest (all that we have seen is a black cloak and white hand (Voldemort!) on the side of a box)
*The Knight Bus
*Most of the new Harbor sets
*A few CREATOR and Technic sets
*Most STAR WARS sets in brick form
NOTE: I don't necassarily like all of these themes/sets I was just compiling a list of what we have yet to see

Did I miss anything?

Posted by Legocityfanatic in United States, 12 Feb 2011 08:15

O man! It was in New York, I could've so been there! Also I can't wait for official images to emerge.

Posted by Nightshroud99 in Canada, 12 Feb 2011 08:36

@ Legocityfanatic, I believe you need an invitation.. :(

Posted by Orange Lemons in United States, 12 Feb 2011 08:55

When they say new collection, do they mean new themes? If so, we've already seen pretty much every new theme coming this year (with the exception of a few sets from each theme), that is, unless LEGO has a few suprise ones coming.

Posted by TooMuchLEGO in United States, 12 Feb 2011 09:15

Cool, too bad I'm a Missourian. :-( Bring some Harry Potter pics back please!

Posted by TooMuchLEGO in United States, 12 Feb 2011 09:15

Orange Lemons, I hope you are right. Anyone up for surprises?

'Toy Fair' is all about getting the buyers for toy stores to order sets to go on their shelves later in the year. Since the modular buildings are 'LEGO exclusives' in most countries, they are unlikely to be on show, as LEGO won't be trying to sell them to retailers. There will be specific sets from other themes that won't be on show either - anything that's a "retailer exclusive" will likely be missing too.

"Building adventure returns to Hogwarts™ with best-selling LEGO HARRY POTTER™ as favorite characters meet three more constructible locations, available in June ($11.99 - $49.99), to support the final film's premiere."

Fascinating press release... I can't wait for HP pics from FBTB tomorrow! The press release tells us a number of interesting things... That they'll be available in June, not August, and that the Forbidden Forest will be $11.99 and that Battle for Hogwarts will be $49.99

Posted by Lego Lova 25 in United States, 12 Feb 2011 09:53

I agree i could make it but my dad probably doesn't want to drive 4 hours and be there for like 2 hrs so bring me some HP pics!!!!!

Posted by The Green Brick Giant in United States, 12 Feb 2011 09:54

Lego shows almost every regular set. So let's all wait a few days for the pictures to come out. The only time I remember LEGO not showing a theme in NYC was last years trains.

Posted by Greyface in United States, 12 Feb 2011 10:02

@Lego Lova 25 - You have to get an invite to go. Its for members of the toy industry and members of the press only.
@The Green Brick Giant - Ace on FBTB posted saying he'll begin updating around noon tomorrow. So hopefully we won't have to wait long at all!

CANNOT wait for Star Wars!

Posted by refriedbeans in United States, 12 Feb 2011 11:00

Please take pictures of EVERYTHING.

Posted by durins in United States, 12 Feb 2011 11:03

Please, sirs, may we see Hoth, please?

Posted by Huffy1968 in United Kingdom, 12 Feb 2011 11:15

Hopefully we will be able to have a look at the Technic 8081 Extreme Cruiser...

Got to admit, I am pretty excited to see the Lighthouse. The Log Cabin is one of my fave sets ever, I am hoping the lighthouse follows suit.

Posted by rainstorm26 in United States, 12 Feb 2011 12:54

Wow I was excpecting battle for Hogwarts to be at least $80. I will expect to see the made in china on the side of the box.

Posted by Berrybrick in United States, 12 Feb 2011 13:46

^Did you see the photo? It's actually not much larger than Hagrid's Hut.^

Posted by CharlieTheFunEngine in Australia, 12 Feb 2011 22:40

We've only seen four out of fourteen Cars sets. I hope we'll see the rest from this event.

Posted by Brickfinger in New Zealand, 12 Feb 2011 22:50

48 new collectibles ... That's 3 sets by my calculations. we've seen the first 32 (series 4 & 5) but series 6 is still an undiscovered country.
Pics of 6 anyone?

Posted by duilim in Australia, 13 Feb 2011 00:22

@Brickfinger - I think you'll find that Series 3 is also included in that total of 48 since technically, it is a 2011 release and from the minifigure video from the German Toy fair last week, the series 3 figures were included with series 4 and 5. I'd be surprise if series 6 is released this year, if at all. The novelty of these minifigs has definitely worn off in Australia - most stores have them in abundance and looks like they're having trouble selling them.

Series 3 is definitely more widely available than series 1 and 2, but I think that the price hike might also have something to do with the slower sales. I for one, am sick of the theme - it's a major rip off and a real pain in the behind to try and collect all 16 of a series.

On another note, I'm really looking forward to the pics from the NY toy fair. I still remember the 2010 Toy Fair pics from fbtb and seeing the HP, Kingdoms and Space Police sets for the first time. Am hoping for further HP pics, as well as Ninjago of which there have been very few to date.

I pretty much know what I want from Star Wars, City and PotC, so I'm not as interested in pictures from these themes than I otherwise would have been. I only hope that I don't see more pictures of other sets that I'm impressed with (such as Flo's V8Cafe, which is now a must have) - my expenditure this year is going to be high enough as it is!

Why hasn't Ace from FBTB posted yet?

Posted by Berrybrick in United States, 13 Feb 2011 17:43

They have some pictures of Atlantis, CREATOR, Duplo, and Hero Factory up on their Flickr stream now.
