    Just a quick reminder about the 'Grand Opening Event' for the Cardiff, Wales, store, which is taking place over 3 days next weekend - Saturday 19th, Sunday 20th & Monday 21st Feb. You can check out the store page on the LEGO.com website here, or check out page 2 of the on-line version of the in-store calendar here.

    Also, the following weekend is the 'Grand Opening Event' for the London Westfield store, running Friday 25th, Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th Feb, but we'll post again about that next week ...

I'd love to go, even if it's just to grab one of the exclusive sets which accompany the opening of a new store, but it won't be possible unfortunately.

I will however eagerly await news of what the exclusive set will be - a Welsh Dragon ? A daffodil ? A leek ?! We shall see.....

Myself, wifey and son will be going on the Sunday to try and grab an exclusive set as well as a White Fett from Smyths in Cardiff.

First 300 customers get them so will try and be within that number, thinking Sunday and all might be quiet.

@Hob - the 'exclusive grand opening set' is usually only available on one of the three event days ... but AFAIK they haven't said yet which day it will be for Cardiff. Good luck; I'm sure it will be fun!

For London Westfield they've said "The first 300 customers to shop for £20 on Sunday (27th) will receive a unique and exclusive LEGO London Bus mini model", so that's on the last of their 3 day grand opening event.

That first linked page includes "Plus the first 300 customers to shop for £20 on each of the 3 days will receive a 'limited edition' LEGO minifigure t-shirt with purchase exclusively designed for the opening days." Does that mean no exclusive set at Cardiff?!?

There are exclusive & unique 'grand opening' sets for both Cardiff & London Westfield. As stated above the Westfield model is a distinctive London 'Routemaster' bus; the model for Cardiff is ... something distinctively Welsh :-)
