Yay!!! I bought him, can't wait for him to get here!

Posted by Luke Skytalker in New Zealand, 01 May 2008 17:53

Yeah, as I said before, it's the same price as the sailbarge was, in NZD. Really quite expensive when you think about it.

Posted by lego12 in United States, 01 May 2008 18:33

That is so COOL! I am going to Lego Shop at Home RIGHT now to buy him after this comment even though it is a tad expensive. It looks REALLY detailed! I can't wait until I get to build this set!

"Eagerly"? hahahaha, no one wants this set, uless they have extra $!

$90!? Too much for a lego set, when it is just a person made out of lego.

I might get it, depends how tall it really is.

Posted by lego12 in United States, 01 May 2008 18:43

I just bought it at Lego Shop at Home! I am so EXCITED!! It is also really tall Da_Legobuilder!
Lego12

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 01 May 2008 19:00

It's 18 inches tall, and has 1085 pieces. It's definately worth 90 dollars!

Posted by lego12 in United States, 01 May 2008 19:02

That's exactly what I thought Fighter95 and thats why I bought the AWESOME set!

Lego12

Posted by Imperial13 in United States, 01 May 2008 19:12

Actually, there is a really expensive lego minifig sculpture. Um, Lego12, it sounds like your screaming with all those caps...

Posted by lego12 in United States, 01 May 2008 19:30

Oh sorry...I just like to use caps when i'm excited...because I am getting this AWESOME SET! See there I go again! well anyway this set is really cool and I am glad I just bought it!

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 01 May 2008 19:55

hahahahaha no of corse not if i were 90 i wouldnt even be able to use a calculator, the jungle cutter is way too overpriced ,and the new sw set is pretty xpensive here in canada 119.99 if it were 80 than i would buy it

Posted by water jedi 17 in United States, 01 May 2008 19:57

I can't wait to get this set!I am very excited with this set!!

Posted by hustla187 in United States, 01 May 2008 20:44

Looks good to me.

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 01 May 2008 20:50

from looking at other images i think the face could have beeb done better

Posted by AngryBullDisease, 01 May 2008 21:21

Holy crud even though its expensive it looks sick iwanna get it :):):)

Posted by rockdog3, 01 May 2008 21:36

:O! Who ever gets it is lucky, very detailed too. I could only get something like that if it was Christmas day or something like that. I wish I could get it, maybe if it was $10... :P

Posted by Luke Skytalker in New Zealand, 02 May 2008 04:28

I dunno, the droid gunship looks pretty cool I think, but really lego made it look like a front and a back. Kinda like the made the AT-ST look like a head and a pair of legs.

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 02 May 2008 14:19

I do wish he was tan though, he's suppost to be tan. But white is okay too :D

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 02 May 2008 17:37

This set looks great, and I am more than happy that it is out! However, it is a little overpriced, but if it is as big as you say it is fighter, than I agree with you. Also, I think the color you are looking for is cream not white, and I'm pretty sure it's the lighting. I will be getting this set even though I said otherwise because I just remembered that I have been waiting for TLC to make this set, and I can't miss it.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 02 May 2008 17:47

Also, I expect to see some good reviews of this set soon.
(Apologies for the 'double post')

Posted by fredthefish03 in United States, 02 May 2008 20:09

This set looks awesome, but I'm really bummed about the price. I'm still probably going to buy it... :D

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 03 May 2008 02:55

YAY!!!! Mine is going to come on thursday!!!! Ouch, haha I jumped up with excitment and fell out of my chair. That really hurt hehe :D:D:D:D

Posted by AngryBullDisease, 03 May 2008 10:46

im gettin this set josh u numbskull

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 03 May 2008 13:38

i just realised lego is pretty darn expensive for a few peices of plastic and the quality has gone down ,what are they doing it used to be made in sweeden now they are making it in contrys where the wages are lower, this set looks like a better choce than the mars mission base

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 03 May 2008 18:09

I'm going to wait until it comes to NZ. Then i am going to buy it. It looks awesome!!

Posted by Luke Skytalker in New Zealand, 03 May 2008 18:50

You must have a pretty good Toyworld, mine never sells UCS sets or anything like that. And to get exclusive sets I have to go to town. Although I see a cafe corner for the price of the sailbarge is being auctioned on trademe, quite cheap but I don't want it.

Posted by Exo-ForceFan in N/A, 03 May 2008 20:01

Wow, looks awesome and good deal for a USC set! Might pick it up!

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 04 May 2008 04:19

Yea our toyworlds getting heaps. I'm going to get this one first tho.

Posted by Luke Skytalker in New Zealand, 04 May 2008 14:23

It doesn't come with a cape Leggodt. I suggest that you make one yourself, and I suggest you use fabric material to make it like Grevious in the movies. There are a couple of reasons why Grevious wouldn't have a cape. Firstly, he never fights with his lightsabers with his cape on. Secondly, have you ever seen a picture of lego on a box or something that doesn't include some of the lego? Of course aside from the transparent pieces, which lego were so modest to edit out of the box. I just suggest you gather some navy material, so it can drape around Grievous. That would be better than paper. :D

Posted by Luke Skytalker in New Zealand, 04 May 2008 14:29

lol sorry for the double post but look what S@H have to say for one of their descriptions:
"Split-apart chestplate opens to reveal Grievous' organs!"
Thats quite funny, but they need an Obi-Wan to do that.

Posted by Luke Skytalker in New Zealand, 04 May 2008 16:58

"Mind what you have learned. Save you it can." (Yoda)

If I were you guys I wouldn't be posting comments on why the previous were being deleted. I suggest you keep on topic.

May The Forth Be With You

Posted by Ultimate Brickmaster in Ireland, 04 May 2008 20:34

I really like this great detail and is quite cheap for UCS Set, lots of of nice pieces too.

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 04 May 2008 22:03

funny thing is i was watching tv when i sunnedly flicked throuh a channel that had episode three on ,and also it was the scene where obi wan kills gevirous

Posted by Luke Skytalker in New Zealand, 04 May 2008 23:07

"So uncivilized." (Obi-wan)

This probably would be a cheap set for UCS, especially compared to the latest Falcon. I do hope that his arms can connect together.

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 04 May 2008 23:50

but seriosly legos getting really expensive for plastic blocks so it isnt cheap.also you seem happy luke skytalker , do you think starwars bionicles would be cool ,though if thre were i hope they wouldnt be like knights kingdom guys

Posted by Luke Skytalker in New Zealand, 05 May 2008 00:15

"You can't stop the change any more than you can stop the suns from setting." (Shmi Skywalker)

Lego is probably getting more expensive, mostly because of the contract with star wars etc. I reckon that this Grevious is kinda like a star wars bionicle figure. In fact I reckon it'll be better. Knights Kingdom guys contain a diminuative number of really large pieces. I would rather have a bionicle than a knights kingdom guy, and I would rather have a figure like this than bionicle, but I like sets for minifigs best.

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 05 May 2008 10:55

"there is a do and a do not there is no try" yoda i think

well a geverious bionicle along with droids would be perfect for bionicle form, lego has been having finacail trobles and that is why they moved thre production to odd countrys ,and this is why the price is high too, also would the contract for starwars be cheaper if thre was a new movie,,,,, lego needs less contracts i.e. avatar ,that duplo tomas the tank engine, but sponge bob is okay i.e. krusty krab

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 05 May 2008 11:25

Why is everyone doing quotes? yes that was yoda, and he said "Do or do not, there is no try. :D lets see, my turn! Um... lets quote a whole scene of episode III.

"Hello there"

"General Kenobi, you are a bold one, kill him.

"Back away! I will deal with this jedi slime, myself"

"Your move."

"You fool! I've been trained in your jedi arts by Count Dooku."

"Attack, Kenobi."

5 minutes later...

"Army or not, you must realize, you are doomed."

"Oh I dont think so"

Again, 5 minutes later...

"So uncivilized."

And grievous is gone, but luckily he is coming to my house! 3 days until mine gets here, I'm so excited! Who else ordered one? He looks so awesome. :D:D:D:D

Posted by Luke Skytalker in New Zealand, 05 May 2008 14:34

"Heh, heh, heh. Time to abandon ship." (General Grievous)

I wonder how many of him are being sold. I reckon they were designed for AFOLs and boosted up the age reccommendation a little bit more than regular star wars sets. I wonder how they do the ages. I don't think Grievous will last long, I wouldn't buy him, but I do wonder how he is built up of so many pieces.

Posted by Rayquaza100196 in United States, 05 May 2008 16:03

I don't really know to say this cause this should be important news that should be here. The new Indiana Jones Video Game is out,I found it on Toysrus.com.

Posted by lego12 in United States, 05 May 2008 16:07

I also ordered one and I am getting him tommorow!!!:D I am going to build him as soon as I get him!!!

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 05 May 2008 16:35

"You are lucky they want you alive"(General Grievous from Clone Wars)

That reminds me. Skytalker, in an earlier comment you mentioned that Grievous NEVER fights using his lightsabers while he's wairing a cape. Actually, that's not true. He does fight with a cape in the Clone Wars series, and isn't that the theme?

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 05 May 2008 17:01

Your getting him tomorrow? Lucky...I still have 3 days...when did you order him? What shipping did you use? Where do you live? hehe I want to know how its getting to your house so soon. :D

Posted by lego12 in United States, 05 May 2008 17:39

I ordered him May 1st. I used the fastest way of shipping. I did that because I REALLY wanted to build him!:D Look at my profile to see where I live...... The shipping is pricey but I managed to pay for it....it's not that expensive, though. Considering the fact I am getting him TOMMOROW!!!

Posted by lego12 in United States, 05 May 2008 17:41

I have only used the fastest way of shipping with this item...it's my first time with fast shipping on any lego item. :D hehehehehehehehe

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 05 May 2008 21:56

i would perfer him with a cape ,and articulations

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 05 May 2008 23:33

Hey if we're getting the 10186 and the 10187 sets and pics this early, then why aren't we getting the 10188? Skytalker?

Posted by orukaia in United States, 05 May 2008 23:41

This set looks really cool, but the hips only move forward and back, so the legs are always parallel to each other... horrible for posing... I'd get him if he were cheaper, but I have higher priorities right now :)

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 06 May 2008 00:10

i wouldnt waste my money just yet , because thre are tons of new sets coming in a month and you might be in trouble if you have no money bu theres a set you want , in my opinion wait

Posted by Luke Skytalker in New Zealand, 06 May 2008 01:30

"This is my apprentice, Darth Maul. He will find your lost ship." (Darth Sideous)

I don't think that lego has even made the box for the death star, remember that the preliminary pics were of the boxes? Of course this was different, though, because Grievous was found in an instruction manual. I don't think that that has happened before. I do have a link to some pretty good pics of the Droid Gunship and T-130 and it says the pic for the death star is coming soon. So I will keep an eye on that.

Posted by silverdagger7, 06 May 2008 16:07

Skytalker, can you give us the link you mentioned with the cool pics? I tried asking this earlier, but my comment was deleted. I don't know why, sorry if there was a misunderstanding. I just wanted to see the TX-130. :D

P:S Does Grievous come with a cape?

Posted by Exo-ForceFan in N/A, 06 May 2008 22:42

I looked at S@H and it did say,"Split-apart chestplate opens to reveal Grievous' organs!" That is funny! The organs aren't really anything, I think it was this red round piece.

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 06 May 2008 23:42

um whys your name exo force fan when on your profile it says a little bit right after exo force,, the model looks rather brittle and volitile there might be to much weight on top so when you guys get yours you should take that into account

Posted by Luke Skytalker in New Zealand, 07 May 2008 00:10

Exo-forcefan, I commented on that four days ago, just scroll up and you will see what I said about them.

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 07 May 2008 10:15

it would almost be better without the base underneath ,, then you could make your own and it would be cheaper , but i have no problem with a few more peices

Posted by Exo-ForceFan in N/A, 07 May 2008 18:36

doctorwho/, I used to like Exo-Force and that was the time I came up with the idea of Exo-ForceFan as a name. Now Exo-Force is boring. Anyway Luke Skytalker I know, I read your comment. That is why I put "It did say!"

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 07 May 2008 18:46

exo force has gotten boring ,the best ones were the first ones , ,is there any reinforcement for the light sabers and i really doubt theres a cape

Posted by Commander Bacara, 07 May 2008 23:25

*walks in* *looks around*

Well, back from my Dark Age. :D

Finally this came out! I've seen pics of it and thought it was fake until my friend who has a friend who works for LEGO that said this was real. A little spendy though, don't you think?

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 08 May 2008 00:36

Wow, like I said, I am very impressed :D Greivous tomorrow!!!!! im so excited, how's yours lego12? :D:D:D:D

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 08 May 2008 10:04

huw deleated those comments Fighter95 and tell us about this set once you get it ,i.e. how long it took to build ,new peices , strength ,ect

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 08 May 2008 11:09

I will. Im so excited it should be coming any minute now!!!!!!!

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 08 May 2008 12:29

Make sure to write a good review of it once you get it, fighter. :) Well, since huw deleted my comment THAT CONTAINED ON-TOPIC INFORMATION, I will say this again: I think that I will, once again, skip this set in accordince with what doctorwho said earlier, but I'm kind of a wishy-washy person when it comes to this so don't be surprised if I change my mind again. Happy V-E Day! :D

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 08 May 2008 15:22

I GOT IT AND IT IS SO AWESOME!!!!!!!! ITS HUGE!!!!!

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 08 May 2008 17:19

I posted a review too ;) It hasnt appeared yet, but it should soon.

Posted by lego12 in United States, 08 May 2008 18:27

I got it yesterday and it RULES!!! It is HUGE! It took me about 4 hours and 30 minutes to build, I think.... It has some pretty cool peices, you'll have to buy it to see them....just kidding....hehehehehe!

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 08 May 2008 18:29

im rather quick when it comes to building

Posted by lego12 in United States, 08 May 2008 18:35

Me too! Considering the fact its a $90 set!

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 08 May 2008 18:35

My review appeared now! Yay!!! Grievous is the best Star Wars character ever!!!!!!!!

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 08 May 2008 18:39

It took me 3 hours and 30 minutes to build!

Posted by lego12 in United States, 08 May 2008 18:47

Well it depends how old you are! If your older than me then you will build it faster. If you are younger than me than i will be embarrased! Hehehehehehe!

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 08 May 2008 20:35

Hey, fighter, I read your review of the set, and I liked it and voted it a "Yes". It was pretty long, but very informative and easy to understand, but YOU STOLE MY IDEA FOR A TITLE!!! Punk! Just kidding! :D

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 09 May 2008 00:06

i could build it in 2 hr s or less ( im quick because im a gamer)

Posted by Luke Skytalker in New Zealand, 09 May 2008 00:26

Yeah, cool reveiw Fighter, nice title as well, might I add. Leggodt has really cool ideas for titles and i enjoy reading his reveiws, I remember the one he made for his Sith Infiltrator reveiw; "This is my apprentice, Darth Maul. He can find you lost ship, if only he could find his own..." That was one of your best I reckon.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 09 May 2008 00:30

Thanks, skytalker! I like your reviews too! Did I really misspell "your".

Posted by Luke Skytalker in New Zealand, 09 May 2008 00:33

No, sorry Leggodt, I was just writing that from memory. Fighter, does Grievous's arms connect together?

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 09 May 2008 00:36

It's okay, skytalker, and no they do not.

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 09 May 2008 10:19

Yeah, I really like your reviews too Leggodt :D

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 09 May 2008 10:51

How old are you lego12? hehe

P.S. Leggodt and lego12 do you like talking to me? I feel lonely on my Instant messanger and I want to know some more people :D just saying I would like to talk to you both :D

ANYWAY...General grievous is so cool!!!! They should make more things like him, do some other figures :D like a giant magna guard would be cool too

Posted by lego12 in United States, 09 May 2008 16:45

I like talking to you Fighter95 its exciting to talk to people who LOVE Lego's as much as I do! i 100% agree with Fighter95 about them making more things like hime! I like the idea of a giant Magna Guard Fighter95. By the way how old are YOU, Fighter95?? Hehehehehehehehehehe.......

Posted by lego12 in United States, 09 May 2008 16:47

By the way doctorwho/ not to be rude or anything but you kind of don't know how long it will take you to build it unless you actually built it like me and Fighter95 did.

Posted by lego12 in United States, 09 May 2008 16:56

See thats why it took me longer to build him because I am younger than you and you are 2 years older than me!

Posted by lego12 in United States, 09 May 2008 16:56

P.S. I was talking about General Grevious.

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 09 May 2008 16:57

I gathered that :) hehehehehe

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 09 May 2008 17:30

I'm sure there are a lot of people you met, like friends, even family. They were strangers at first too. The only way I wont be a stranger is if you get to know me. Your friends were strangers too, but you had to trust them a little bit to get to know them and become friends. If everyone was a stranger and you couldn't talk to them at all, the world would be a pretty sad place...

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 09 May 2008 18:14

By the way doctorwho/ not to be rude or anything but you kind of don't know how long it will take you to build it unless you actually built it like me and Fighter95 did.

, im pretty fast at building though it might take me 3 hrs depending if its flimsy or odd instructions .

Posted by lego12 in United States, 09 May 2008 19:59

I am always fast at building but I ALWAYS double check what I do so I don't mess up on the instructions.

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 09 May 2008 20:10

your welcome for the advice its just not that safe meeting people through the internet ,so does this set come with a cape

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 09 May 2008 22:23

I trust you, fighter, but I can't email you cause there is something wrong with my emailing system that I am having a hard time fixing, and I don't have instant messanger. Sorry. Besides, if you did anything bad to me, I'd probably beat the living daylights out of you. I'm huge, by the way!(sorry for being violent. I didn't scare you did I?) WELL! Since there's no chance of that happening, never mind!

Posted by Luke Skytalker in New Zealand, 10 May 2008 02:28

They have the same job as a paleantologist, they dig through dirt until they find treasure, metaphoracally. Anyway, i reccommend that we get back to topic, cause we are far from it.

Fighter, does he come with a cape? (I'll bet you'll say no)

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 10 May 2008 09:10

Nope :(

Posted by Doctor Sinister in United Kingdom, 14 May 2008 18:35

Gents, I've deleted a lot of the comments in here as they weren't pertinent to discussion of the set.

Posted by Sam Butcher in New Zealand, 24 May 2008 21:00

Hmmm, this really looks an awsome set, just not sure how i'll get it.I normally get my sets from ebay but the NZ$ not looking good to the US$ at the moment. if any kiwis here know where i can get this beast cheeper than RRP please, give me a yell :-).it seem a good price for the size if it flip, almost 60cm!!! Ya just gotta love big sets.
