Valid Friday 2/18 through Monday 2/21, Toys R Us will be discounting several sets.  The following sets will be 30% off the regular Toys R Us price: Bionicle Piraka (7137), Bionicle Gresh (7117), Bionicle Rahkshi (7138), Bionicle Skrall (7136), City Garage (7642), Power Miners Titanium Command Rig (8964) and Space Police 3 Hyperspeed Pursuit (5973).  Additionally, they're knocking $20 off their price for the AT-AT (8129) and Turbo Tank (8098) but that just brings the sets only slightly under MSRP.  You can see the Toys R Us flyer here.

I like how you said "Toys R Us price"

Yea I just can't bring myself to support that store.

Posted by kipper147 in United States, 17 Feb 2011 19:59

so things are going to be regular price compaired to what lego issued?

Great to see that more then a few of us realize what's going on over there at TRU! ))

Hyperspeed Pursuit is tempting, but I was hoping for another 30% off sale on Lunar Limo since I didn't pick it up the last time.

toys r us is one of the last large toy store chains around, being that kb toys went under a while back, toys r us is gann run them selves out of business. I love that they always have the sets ahead of time, but who cares it not worth 5, or 10+ dollars more just to get it before anyone else, but if its the minifigures, then thats a different story, becayuse those are extrememly rare and sell really fast and are hard to find. but anyways, toys r us is fun to go to, but they need to lower their prices

Hyperspeed Pursuit = 35 in walmart.com

Legocityfanatic: I too like how Yellowcastle stated "Toys R Us price". TRU inflates prices after a week of having a new product and then when they place stuff on sale it isn't much of a sale at all.

Wow! Sets that came out in 2009 are 30, scratch that, 20 percent off? No deal at all considering these sets were clearanced out of Target ages ago at 30-75% off LEGO retail prices.

Rather than all these random sales maybe the US TRU should just stop the stupid markups.

Posted by ShatteredGnome in United States, 18 Feb 2011 00:27

The TRU ad shows 7 sets in the picture, but there are 8 product codes. Is there another set that they have on sale as well? Seems mysterious...

UPDATE: It appears the 8th code is a tiny Atlantis set, 8072 Sea Jet. At 30% off, it would be about 2.79, from 3.99 normally.

ANY ADMIN-REALLY SORRY FOR THIS, BUT MY E-MAIL ISN'T WORKING RIGHT- http://brickset.com/information/ look at the info on Ninjago sets by i_am_in_high_school. Can we have some way to flag it as inappropriate or unhelpful now?

I hate to say it, but on some of the sets TRU is offering them at the same price as everywhere else. Including Lego. Now keep in mind that there are a lot of sets that are overprices at TRU, but if they are charging some of the same prices as Lego, Target, and Wal-Mart (Yes WM always takes .03 of a set) it could mean that Lego has decided to raise the price point for the sets to help everyone out and then TRU raises their prices.

The City Garage (7642) does not appear to be available from TRU online. Tried searching for it by name and by code, but it isn't there.

Posted by TooMuchLEGO in United States, 18 Feb 2011 08:38

@LEGOcityfanatic: Well, you know that Toys R' Us always boots the price up by like 20%, right? Besides that, the fact that an SP set is off is nice- I never happened to get one.

@ Berrybrick - Thanks for the headsup.

If you have a Target credit card you can always get 5% off your Lego sets. I usually wait until they have a sale and get that extra 5% off. It's not much, but better than nothing.

That's TRU's second sale on the AT-AT in the last month or two. I wonder if that's because it's not selling well. Then again, if that were the case they would've discounted or clearanced out the old Power Miners, Prince of Persia and Indiana Jones sets a long time ago.

Posted by legoDad42 in United States, 18 Feb 2011 13:20

Someone might've mentioned it above but it's good to compare with Walmart dot com's prices(but looks like it's 'sold in stores' sales.
If anyone's looking for a Turbo Tank they have it for $99.80(they've had this on sale for awhile), Slave I $61.54, Brickmaster Star Wars book 45% off...etc....worth a look before shopping at TRU.

Posted by super12 in United States, 18 Feb 2011 15:55

the best deal should be the small 3.99 sets... now it's 2.79.. which is a good price for a mini figure

Posted by didgeboy in United States, 19 Feb 2011 10:37

Can someone please explain why they would offer the City Garage, when it has been discontinued and is no longer available in any stores??

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 19 Feb 2011 13:10

@ didgeboy - Because they still have stock at their stores or distribution centers.

Posted by Zrath in United States, 19 Feb 2011 23:02

So I went to TRU today to try and get the Power Miners Titanium Rig. Oh yeah, it's discounted alright! It's on clearance for $69!! Down from $75! That's, like, not even 30% at all. And the box had a corner smashed in and ripped. Yeah, no thanks TRU. TRU Clearance = $5 off a $75 item.
