SpongeBob figs added to gallery

  • SpongeBob figs added to gallery

Posted by Huw, 24 Feb 2011 15:19. Filed under Brickset.

I'm sure this SpongeBob SquarePants gallery will be popular, and I have to confess I have a soft-spot for these figs, even though I've never watched an episode of the cartoon in my life. I guess it's the bright colours and cool character designs that does it...

So, what next: Vikings, collectables, Space Police 3, Atlantis, or should I start on Star Wars?

My kids love the Spongebob sets, can't wait for the 2 new ones in August. Nice job on the gallery too :)

Posted by Orange_Juice in United Kingdom, 24 Feb 2011 15:27

I say Space Police for the next one as it has some very interesting figures Eg the aliens. However star wars would be very interesting, Hmmm... Oh and I didn't realize that there were that many versions of spongbob

Posted by lemaskdemasque in United Kingdom, 24 Feb 2011 15:28

COLLECTABLES!!!!!!........please?...

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 24 Feb 2011 15:30

Start on Star Wars, that should keep you occupied for several years!

Posted by lemaskdemasque in United Kingdom, 24 Feb 2011 15:31

Huw, you've put two doctors on the minifig page? why?

Posted by MinifigureMan in United Kingdom, 24 Feb 2011 15:38

First, sorry but you put 2 doctors in by mistake, one apparently has no sets on the list. Anyway, I would say start on Star Wars, and maybe do another theme. I would go for Atlantis or Space Police, as SW will take a long time to do. In fact it will take a long, long time ago in a galaxy far away. ;)

Posted by The_Habuskian in United Kingdom, 24 Feb 2011 15:39

Collectables.

Posted by DrathMaul1997 in United Kingdom, 24 Feb 2011 15:43

Very nice indeed, though one doctor doesn't seem to be in any sets...

Vikings next please!

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 24 Feb 2011 15:49

According to BrickLink, the Emergency Room set came with both variations of torso for the doctor: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=3832-1. I had one and BrickLinked the other so I could photograph both versions.

Posted by Tervlon in United States, 24 Feb 2011 15:52

Awesome update. I vote for Atlantis next.

Posted by r2d2333 in United States, 24 Feb 2011 15:53

Collectible minifigs should be next. Might as well get a head start; there will be at least 32 more just this year.

Posted by legobagel in United Kingdom, 24 Feb 2011 16:00

hey huw can you put up the details for the westflied store grand opening tomorrow please? nice gallery BTW

Posted by TheKingOfBuilding in United Kingdom, 24 Feb 2011 16:03

@Huw: I've just checked on Bricklink and the "Build-A-Bob" set's Plankton is classed as a minifig! Were you aware of that? Anyway, keep up the good work for the minifig galleries!

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 24 Feb 2011 16:06

Vikings! :o)

Posted by Da_LegoBuilder in United States, 24 Feb 2011 16:10

starwars. please do starwars! :)

Posted by Brickmatic in United States, 24 Feb 2011 16:10

Vikings! It brought me out of my dark ages. I have the entire collection.

Posted by sharpleaf in Brazil, 24 Feb 2011 16:12

I think you should start Star Wars.
Is my favorite licensed theme, and one of the most populars ever.

Posted by natro220 in United States, 24 Feb 2011 16:18

I vote for Star Wars. Love the Spongebob gallery! I'm in the process of getting some of the older sets I didn't get right now, and I can't wait for the two new sets (and a proper Sandy not in her space uniform).

Posted by durins in United States, 24 Feb 2011 16:18

I just picked up Spongebob and Patrick figures last month, they instantly became the favorites of my kids. Thanks for the pics.

Vikings next, please.

Posted by legoDad42 in United States, 24 Feb 2011 16:24

Wah?...no Plankton?....;)

I know, I know...he's evil....oh, and Gary and Sharon too....:)

I'd put my vote for Space Police 3. The aliens are great minifigs.

Posted by legoguy2805 in United Kingdom, 24 Feb 2011 16:24

A proper Star Wars minifig gallery would be awesome! That's what Lego Star Wars fans and the good people of FBTB have been waiting for for years!

So yeah, my vote goes to Star Wars. But if not, a Collectable Minifigure gallery would be nice too. :)

Posted by Camo Hat in United States, 24 Feb 2011 16:27

i would say sp3 or atlantis next because they have some nice figs and are out at the moment plus star wars will take a REALLY long time

Posted by Legocityfanatic in United States, 24 Feb 2011 16:31

collectables

Posted by legoguy 3000 in United Kingdom, 24 Feb 2011 16:32

I really think you should do star wars next! That would be great!!

Posted by MinifigureMan in United Kingdom, 24 Feb 2011 16:43

@Huw, oh yeah! Never noticed that!

Posted by natro220 in United States, 24 Feb 2011 16:44

how about a Doctor Who gallery...oh, wait...

Posted by C-Fish in United States, 24 Feb 2011 16:46

Do the small themes next, then they'll be out of the way when you start of Star Wars.

Posted by TooMuchLEGO in United States, 24 Feb 2011 16:49

Very good gallery!

There was just a couple of things that I noticed weren't in there- Plankton, the Crabby Patty Robot customer, and the Robo-sponge, all of which appeared in the Chum Bucket set.

Posted by lemaskdemasque in United Kingdom, 24 Feb 2011 17:00

@Huw I think that other torso on the doctor was made by someone who couldn't find the official one and replaced with the common doctor torso. It's not the official one.

Posted by jrach190 in United States, 24 Feb 2011 17:14

Star Wars!

Posted by Ha876 in United States, 24 Feb 2011 17:16

star wars. no doubt about it

Posted by Doctor Leg O'Brick in United Kingdom, 24 Feb 2011 17:33

I would go for Star Wars if you have the time and money, but would be happy with any others you have posted there.

Posted by Lego Minifig Man in Canada, 24 Feb 2011 17:40

Collectible minifigs, then Star Wars.

Posted by Starwarsgeek500 in United States, 24 Feb 2011 17:40

Go with Star Wars, though if you don't have the cash or patience, Vikings or SP3.

Posted by Sam19 in United States, 24 Feb 2011 17:42

STAR WARS !!!!!

Posted by Darren Coppinger in Ireland, 24 Feb 2011 18:06

Collectibles!!!

Posted by Orange Lemons in United States, 24 Feb 2011 18:09

I vote Vikings! That was one of my favorite themes, and I think it was prematurely discontinued. Who doesn't like full auto LEGO missile firing with VIKINGS!

Posted by youngtom in United States, 24 Feb 2011 18:22

I vote Vikings. By the way, when are you going to do Power Miners?

Posted by jones545 in United States, 24 Feb 2011 18:46

I vote Star Wars!

Posted by aragorn_10 in United States, 24 Feb 2011 19:06

Hmm so hard to choose between all the ones you mentioned... all sound interesting. I say go for whatever. We'll be please with whatever you give us. :)

Posted by gordi99 in United States, 24 Feb 2011 19:12

VIKINGS! even though I don't own a single set, yet.

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 24 Feb 2011 19:14

Starwars or vikings please, I really like to visit this site and check out the new pictures :-)

Posted by Scoutjo5 in Canada, 24 Feb 2011 19:17

Please do Vikings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by PaulTR in United States, 24 Feb 2011 19:49

Great gallery Huw! You're doing a great job!

Posted by MCLegoboy in United States, 24 Feb 2011 19:54

I say start on Star Wars. I suggest doing year by year because there are probably twenty versions of Luke and ten of Han and Leia, and all those Stormtroopers. O_o So start with 1999, then 2000, then 2001 and on. I would say make a new addition to Star Wars every other week or so just so that we aren't bombarded with a new addition of really common figures everyone has seen, and then throw in Vikings, Space Police, Atlantis, and collectables, and such in between just for some variety(Even though I love Lego Star Wars.). Eventually you were going to get around to them, why not just start Star Wars and do some multi tasking.

Posted by Sword2211 in United States, 24 Feb 2011 20:15

Collectable Minifigures! (sw can wait...)

Posted by withinfourwalls in United States, 24 Feb 2011 20:37

FABULAND!!!!!

Posted by Blade in Australia, 24 Feb 2011 20:55

Collectables, please! it sounds the most interesting. If not then Vikings. SW can totally wait.....

Posted by K-nut in United States, 24 Feb 2011 21:10

Do star wars and get it out of the way

Posted by blaksamu12 in United States, 24 Feb 2011 21:13

i would do vikings or space police. dont do Star Wars unless you are SURE you have all he minifigures (which would be epic). good spongebob gallery too. the figs are pretty neat, the sets weerent great, though

Posted by mackrel in United States, 24 Feb 2011 22:09

You have never seen an episode of SpongeBob??? That's a crime. It's a great show for adults. Thanks for the gallery.

Posted by rainstorm26 in United States, 24 Feb 2011 23:23

Vikings. Please. I think it is a manageable number of figs and you don't have any Castle/Fantasy figs in your picture database yet.

Posted by M-Tron Hero Kodiak in United States, 25 Feb 2011 00:35

I place my vote for Vikings Huw, please?

Posted by oldtodd33 in United States, 25 Feb 2011 01:46

I vote you watch one episode of SpongeBob before you take any more pictures!!

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 25 Feb 2011 03:01

^MCLegoboy, great minds think alike :-) That is exactly how I will do Star Wars: start at 1999 and work year by year. There are too many to do all at once, and releasing them one year a week or so will maintain your interest over a longer period of time.

Posted by max villano in Greece, 25 Feb 2011 03:01

Hmmm what about star wars?

Posted by BIONICLEGuy in United Kingdom, 25 Feb 2011 03:18

Collectables. Simply because the whole theme is based on minifigures.
Space Police 3 has nice figures too so do that as well.

Posted by dafish in United Kingdom, 25 Feb 2011 03:33

Vikings vikings vikings!!!

Posted by Snowhive in Germany, 25 Feb 2011 03:40

Collecteblas or Vikings!

Posted by mission_zed in United Kingdom, 25 Feb 2011 03:54

Another great gallery, as usual. I avoided the Sponge Bob sets when they came out, as my son was a little too young and I didn't want him getting into the whole Cartoon Network genre. But the minifig are insanely cute. What to do next ? Everything ! If you are mad enough to attempt Star Wars, then I think you should alternate with other themes: Collectables 1, SW 1999, Vikings, Collectables 2, SW 2000, Atlantis, etc. But you HAVE to do the Collectables with and without accessories. Please !

Posted by SapmiSatan in Norway, 25 Feb 2011 04:28

Star Wars(Original Trilogy, if you want to split it up) or Collectable Minifigures.

Posted by romdam in United States, 25 Feb 2011 05:07

Is there a way to "checklist" the galleries like there is a way for sets? A way to mark them as "have"? I only collect city sets but want to collect any and all minifigs but find it hard to keep track of what I have. If there was a way I could go to say "Space" gallery, I could see by the marked picture who I have and need.

Posted by raydent in Indonesia, 25 Feb 2011 06:42

STARWARS of course!!! I like most of LEGO character but lately I thinks SW minifigs is the most interesting and very dynamic in style(renewable again and again) :)

Posted by TheCahleySlash in United Kingdom, 25 Feb 2011 06:58

I would have to say vikings and once you've done all the small gallerys, then do star wars.

Posted by brickmonkey13 in Canada, 25 Feb 2011 07:03

Vikings!

Posted by Alex66 in Denmark, 25 Feb 2011 07:19

I thought you would take Star Wars first but do it next the plz.

Posted by Stardusty in Croatia, 25 Feb 2011 08:16

Good job on the gallery. I really like the pictures.
Although, I thionk that little bad guy from Sponge Bob (1x1 sand green with printed face in LEGO)
should be included to the gallery to.

For next gallery I would like to see SW since for few years it will be hard to keep track on figs.
I know that there is a lot of figs, but I think that it is better to start with that theme now.

Posted by Jarod98 in United Kingdom, 25 Feb 2011 08:55

@oldtodd33 - I agree, Huw should watch at least one SpongeBob episode before taking anymore photos, all it takes is one episode to find a love for The Little Sponge.

@mission_zed - SpongeBob is Nickelodeon, but wanting to avoid Cartoon Network (exept Star Wars: The Clone Wars) is a good idea.

The pics are great Huw, thanks again for the effort. As for the next theme I suggest you do either Vikings or Space Police 3 since both are retired and won't be coming out with more in the near future. I can't wait to see the Star Wars theme though...

@Stardusty - The "little bid guy" is Plankton (that's his name and type).

Posted by Legocityfanatic in United States, 25 Feb 2011 09:20

@Huw, great way to put it in order, very logical

Posted by Stardusty in Croatia, 25 Feb 2011 09:21

Plankton, really? That is exactly the same way it's written in Croatian language, but since my english
isn't really good I've just named him 'little bad guy'.

Posted by carding in United Kingdom, 25 Feb 2011 09:50

space police 3

Posted by Jarod98 in United Kingdom, 25 Feb 2011 10:04

@Stardusty - Lol! Actually his computer wife (Karen) calls him Sheldon, but everyone else calls him Plankton.

Posted by Orthobotrex in Philippines, 25 Feb 2011 10:44

Feel the Force, sir! There's a lot of star wars figs, and they keep adding more...Catch up with them, we must! Herculean, the task is... but great, the reward is! And please do justice and be kind to the animals (boga, dewback, taun-taun, wampa, etc... :-)

Posted by pop3465 in United States, 25 Feb 2011 14:30

I would not do star wars for a while unless you do it year by year. Huw-You have too Have too watch at least one episode! Guys Sheldon Is not realy considerd a fig unless its from Build a bob. Karon,Robo sponge, and Rodo custormer should be in the gallery. My vote is Atlantis,But The next option should be POWERMINERS! The collectable figs alredy show h-res imagis of the fig so why do them?

Posted by Roketah in Australia, 25 Feb 2011 16:51

star wars

Posted by Starwarsgeek500 in United States, 25 Feb 2011 17:02

Go with the retired themes, they'll be harder to do and only get more costly yearly.

Posted by Pepper in United States, 25 Feb 2011 18:20

Another great gallery, Huw! Thanks!

I would vote for alternating as you talked about with SW and other themes. The "other theme" that I think you should do first is Vikings.

Posted by wolfgang514 in United States, 25 Feb 2011 18:32

I vote for Star Wars!

Posted by legos in United States, 25 Feb 2011 20:01

DONT DO STAR WARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by brickmatt in United States, 25 Feb 2011 20:45

I vote for vikings.

Posted by clone commander trainrex in United States, 25 Feb 2011 21:04

At least start to gather the minifigs for Star Wars from Bricklink.

Posted by IlovePowerMiners in United Kingdom, 25 Feb 2011 21:27

Collectibles! (P.S. are you planning on doing animal galleries? :)

Posted by CharlieTheFunEngine in Australia, 25 Feb 2011 22:29

You know what would be great? To do a gallery when the Cars sets are released. Yeah, I know they're not minifigs, but the character cars nevertheless have very minifig-like appeal, with many fans wanting just one particular car out of a set when they aren't even Cars fans. Which item, other than minifigs, brings out out that kind of desire for just one item from a LEGO set?

Posted by Combusti49 in Australia, 26 Feb 2011 06:19

Star Wars! Star wars! Star Wars! Start on Star Wars! If not, maybe try Space Police III.

Posted by MinifigureMan in United Kingdom, 26 Feb 2011 09:43

The only thing is SW is still going, and also Spongebob has another 2 upcoming sets whereas the other lists have finished I believe.

Posted by LeiaR2D2 in United States, 26 Feb 2011 12:05

Please do Star Wars next! By the way, congrats on the spongebob gallery- it looks great! :)
Please do Star Wars!

Posted by Indy1 in United States, 26 Feb 2011 16:35

The collectible minifigures would be nice.

Posted by Jarod98 in United Kingdom, 26 Feb 2011 16:51

@MinifigureMan - Vikings and Space Police III are both done (at least for now), but Collectable Minifigures and Atlantis may still be coming out.

Posted by kc14 in United States, 26 Feb 2011 20:08

get starwars! it's awesome!!!!!!

Posted by LEGO_Lord in United States, 26 Feb 2011 21:04

I'd like collectable minifigures to be next, there isn't very clear photographs of them elsewhere.

Posted by LEGO_Lord in United States, 26 Feb 2011 21:05

Maybe Star Wars as well, there are many photographs that are very blurry for older minifigures. Perhaps you could split between the films since there are so many minifigures from this theme.

Posted by Legocityfanatic in United States, 27 Feb 2011 09:24

If you do start Star Wars, and you do every year week by week, perhaps you can join them together when you're all done.

Posted by princeofpersia in United Kingdom, 27 Feb 2011 13:58

i love the spongebob figs there so cartoon like which makes them funny.
