Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 12 May 2008 18:03

Doesn't it make a nice change for us to get something before the USA :-)

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 12 May 2008 18:08

That makes me sad!!! I really want the Mars Mission for the US!!!

Posted by AngryBullDisease, 12 May 2008 18:13

I cant belive this! omg this stinks. WHy did uk get it first.NOOOOOOO!!!!!

Posted by water jedi 17 in United States, 12 May 2008 18:55

Noooooooo!!!!!As for the sets, they are awsome!!Huw,do you happen to know when th batman sets come out in the US?And where are the other batman sets? The mars mission sets look pretty cool but there needs to be a set at least $20.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 12 May 2008 19:05

I see that many of us Americans are complaining about the fact that the UK got the sets first. I for one would like to congradulate them. You finally beat us at something, United Kingdom! :P

Posted by lego12 in United States, 12 May 2008 19:13

I agree with you Leggodt (sorry for double post)!

Posted by water jedi 17 in United States, 12 May 2008 19:16

Does anybody know where to get the agents sets, seeing that 3 people already own swamp hunt?

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 12 May 2008 19:24

huw this is off topic but the quality of some lego has gone down terribly for the 10 time, I had a lego pieice break comparing the same peice to one made in 2000 i also notice a slightley diferent colour ,mainly this problem is in the u-shaped joints ,what should i do because this is all from the 2007-now line and i cant make mocs with broken peices please give me some advice

Posted by water jedi 17 in United States, 12 May 2008 19:26

doctorwho/ have you tried ordering replacement parts on lego.com?

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 12 May 2008 19:28

do they cost money and do you have to show them the broken parts along with proof of purchese

Posted by water jedi 17 in United States, 12 May 2008 19:36

It depends according to what it says,"We may requestthat broken part be returned to our quality assurance and I don't know if it costs but i think it's free. Here's the page www.lego/eng/service/replacementparts.asp
On topic, the batbuggy really sucks though I might buy it for the minifigures

Posted by mtow~255000 in United States, 12 May 2008 19:40

UK gets it first because its nice for a change. I wouldn't have bought them yet anyway if they came to the us.

Posted by hustla187 in United States, 12 May 2008 20:18

The tumbler looks gooooooodd!

Posted by Carl Sagan in United States, 12 May 2008 20:52

the new sets were not released in the U.S. yet because TLC would make less $$ if they released all of these new themes in a wave. I would actually be surprised if they released it before the end of may, considering that the new indiana jones movie comes out in just over a week. TLC has undoubtedly invested a lot in their development and marketing of IJ sets, they definitely do not want that money to go to waste.

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 12 May 2008 21:28

ill take my lego indi to see the movie with me, how much is 30 euros in canadian

Posted by silverdagger7, 12 May 2008 21:40

Hey Doctorwho/, 30 euros is approximately 46.7804 canadian dollars. Oh, and congratulations UK for getting cool LEGOS before the Americans!! Have fun!

Posted by The_Best_Fighter, 12 May 2008 23:57

I don't know where this agruement "Well it's about time the UK gets things first" comes from, almost all LEGO sets have been on LS@H UK first the last few years. LEGO UK has ALL the known 2008 besides 2 Mars Mission sets and the Agents sets. The USA is getting screwed, no new Castle, no Coast Guard, no new Mars Mission, no new Batman, hardly any of the Impulse sets.

So end the complaining about releasing things so late in Europe, you are getting sets 3 months in advance.

Posted by Imperial13 in United States, 13 May 2008 00:04

Huw, can you please add that there only for sale in the UK, as you worded it as if everyone had the new sets.
Thanks~

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 13 May 2008 00:13

i compleatley agree with you The_Best_Fighter,and us in canada have next to nothing in the sales and deals thing on lego. com all we get is halloween costumes and duplo 8(

Posted by Luke Skytalker in New Zealand, 13 May 2008 03:02

I agree with your comment Huw, and to be honest now I prefer the United Kingdom to the United States. It seems that the UK has done more than the US, no offence Americans. I still enjoy talking to everyone equally but the British have just got that humour that I love.

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 13 May 2008 03:06

Cant wait for the coast guard sets to come out in NZ next month. A bit pricey on LEGO.com tho.

Posted by Luke Skytalker in New Zealand, 13 May 2008 03:11

I only care about star wars. I hope that there will be larger sets in my local store this time. Did lego do well selling Batman last year?

Posted by bsmarthen in United States, 13 May 2008 08:07

Done More???? Anyway. cant wait for these sets to come out here. Lego never seems to have good reasons why some sets come out in certain countries first. I just wish they would make sets world wide and not just have some that are just U.S. and some that are just U.K.

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 13 May 2008 10:47

When will they be available in the US? I want the Mars Mission sets!!!!

Posted by legoguysw in United Kingdom, 13 May 2008 11:55

Yay! We beat US! Star Wars is not on there yet, Leggodt, so get ready...

Posted by legoguysw in United Kingdom, 13 May 2008 11:58

No offesnse meant by that, its just US do seem to get some pretty cheap prices. It just seems nice that we got the sets first!

Posted by legoguysw in United Kingdom, 13 May 2008 12:02

I'll take that as a complement SkyTalker! (your comment about us British being funny, that is). I suppose we get the sets quicker this time because we are nearer Denmark, or maybe they've just uploaded the UK ones first and are getting onto the US now. SkyTalker, what do you mean you prefer the UK to US? Not that i dislike it, actually... :D

Posted by The_Best_Fighter, 13 May 2008 12:57

The USA get things cheaper because we are a bigger LEGO market. The USA and Germany are huge LEGO markets. In the USA LEGOs have to have a cheaper price because there is more competition. Plus the Europe has insane taxes and such that don't help the price either.

Posted by Sky-guardian in United States, 13 May 2008 13:37

i just saw that Australia got the batman and mars mission sets too

Posted by TinyHippo in United Kingdom, 13 May 2008 14:35

Is it me or is 7886 (Harley Quinn) not available at S@H yet?

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 13 May 2008 14:41

At first, I didn't want to agree with you, the best fighter, but now I'm starting to. And no offense taken, legoguysw.

Posted by Sky-guardian in United States, 13 May 2008 15:13

Yeah your right TinyHippo I saw that the 7886 and the penguin's sub is not out yet.

Posted by legoville410 in United States, 13 May 2008 15:15

will U.s. get them at all????!!!

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 13 May 2008 17:40

There's every reason to expect them to be released in the US (and Canada, and anywhere else) in due time, most likely in the next few weeks.

For info, the last time I saw figures from LEGO in detail, the UK was their largest market, if you measured it in terms of sets sold per household. 8o)

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 13 May 2008 18:12

actually thats true in europe they actually have lego displays and a good selection

Posted by Shdwadventurer, 13 May 2008 23:28

i went to legoland ca last sunday they had agents and coast guard but no batman i picked up some of the agents got the laptop hehe

Posted by Shdwadventurer, 13 May 2008 23:31

srry for the double post but i remember the new castles at legoland also had no money left for the warship ='(

Posted by darthmaul7 in United States, 14 May 2008 11:50

i heard that the usa release will be in june! Can't wait!

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 14 May 2008 12:43

You did?!?! YAY!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by BrickManiac, 14 May 2008 14:00

I live in US but I like UK better because kuz they got the new LEGO stuff. And they got a cool flag. GO COASTGUARD!!!

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 14 May 2008 15:08

Leggodt you stole my joke! hehe :) Will the Ultra Drill Walker also be released with all of these new sets?

Posted by KH3D in United States, 14 May 2008 15:17

If you're in the US, try Wal-Mart. In the last week, I've found all four new Batman sets at Southeast Houston/Friendswood TX area Wal-Marts.

Posted by lego12 in United States, 14 May 2008 17:17

I went to my local walmart and they didn't have any new sets!

Posted by bsmarthen in United States, 14 May 2008 21:52

I Agree with you Leggodt. But back on topic in Michigan in the U.S.A. Thank you too KH3D I went to the walmart and found Batman sets 7884, 7885, and 7886. I picked them all up and they are great. Still no Coast Guard, Which is a American Service only isnt it? Or do other countries have Coast Guard?

Posted by KH3D in United States, 14 May 2008 23:05

I agree. The Brits get Dr. Who and Battlestar Galactica first, and now they get The Good Wizard, Dwarve's Mine Defender and Coast Guard first too. It's just not fair. ;)

bsmarthen,
Glad you found them.

For those still looking, for what it's worth, they didn't all show up at once, or all at the same store. It took three separate stores on three separate days to find all four.

Posted by ngclarkiv in United States, 16 May 2008 00:11

Dude I don't know about any of you but I'm excited for the freakin Bat Tumbler. The Dark Knight in July is going to be for sure way sick!!

Posted by legoguysw in United Kingdom, 16 May 2008 10:58

KH3D, firstly you seem new so WELCOME!(I can only hope you are really new!) and secondly you seem to be suggesting if the USA got the sets first it would be fine. Is that what you are saying? And i really bet USA will get SW sets first.

Posted by bsmarthen in United States, 16 May 2008 17:04

Well if you think about it. Batman and The Coast Guard are American! So is Star Wars! So if they were coming out in one country first why would it not be the U.S.A.? It wouldnt be A big deal if there werent so many sets that are only sold in one country or the next. Browse the 2008 sets and see just how many you can buy over there compared to us. Think about that before you start asking if were complaining about just one Theme.

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 16 May 2008 17:49

Can we please stop the whinging ? Please ?

There are very few sets that don't get released in the US *eventually*; it's usually the other way around. Have a little bit of patience & give it time.

LEGO are a European company; some sets get released in Europe first, some get released in the US, or elsewhere, first. They will often phase the release as they ramp up production of a new set (so that they don't have to store *all* the sets somewhere, at great expense, before releasing them).

Also I don't think the US can claim sovereign right the term "Coast Guard"; most countries with a sea border have a coast guard service ...

Ian.

Posted by Hitomi@Goldentower in United States, 16 May 2008 18:00

the sets in question are suposed to be released around August 15 in the US, and bluemoose is right about not complaining. If they get to the United States later, that gives us more time to save up and get more of them.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 16 May 2008 18:36

Yes, bluemoose, I know that LEGO is a European company, and that's the problem. I've always thought that the LEGO World Headquaters should be centered in the US. If it was, then LEGO would stop with some of its financial trouble. Europe just doesn't have the money and has been dependent on the US for years.

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 16 May 2008 18:50

I think you need to go check your facts before making claims like that.

Now back on topic ... OK ?

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 16 May 2008 19:01

If you want to carry on this discussion, please take it to email; you can email me though my profile, and I am more than happy to continue.

FYI, using 'FYI' is usually considered to be a very aggressive and confrontational way to start a post ... is that really where you want to go with this ;-)

Like I said, "back on topic" ...

Ian

Off-topic posts have been & will be deleted.

Leggodt - I would like to talk to you via email to resolve this misunderstanding, but I have no way of contacting you; would you please email me through my profile. Thank you. Ian

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 16 May 2008 19:47

Well, it would be nice to e-mail if I could. You dimwits don't allow me to change my e-mail address which responds to an e-mail address that I don't use anymore.

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 16 May 2008 19:56

Contact the admins from here:
http://www.brickset.com/misc/contact.aspx
and I'm sure they'll be able to reset your contact details to your preferred provider.
Ian

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 16 May 2008 20:04

Yes, but how will they be able to contact me to let me know that I contacted them? Can't you just do it right now?

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 16 May 2008 20:12

You can enter any contact email address you like at the link above; you can then add any message you like. I don't know for sure but it'll probably work something like this - only the Admins (Huw & Graeme) can see your original email address; if you tell them what your email address *was* & your account name, they should be able to confirm your identity & change it to the new email address you give them.

Posted by Luke Skytalker in New Zealand, 18 May 2008 03:15

Well, at the moment I could only buy an AT-AP, but I will be selling a car in the next few weeks and if I earn profit from that I may buy the gunship by August. But I want some emergency 4504 Falcon money that shall only be used for the falcon. I think that will be sure to avoid future bankruptancy when I come to buy it.

Posted by BrickManiac, 19 May 2008 14:36

I want the new Batman sets becase it has a lot of cool pieces. And the Coastguard kuz its just plain awsome.

( sorry for going off topic bluemoose :( )

Posted by Martin in United Kingdom, 20 May 2008 18:19

Guys, we are not here to discuss why LEGO choose to release different sets in different countries at different times. Take it as a fact of life and get used to it. Europe frequently has to wait for hollywood movies to be released here. We accept it because that's how that particular industry works.

Dr S, Bluemoose and myself are here to ensure we make sure all comments to the original news article are relevant and appropriate. This is not a discussion forum, so please do not treat it as one. IMO, we have been lenient so far...do not bank on this continuing...
