Having a job keeping track of all the promotional polybag sets that are being released these days? That's why you come to Brickset, isn't it, where we do the hard work for you...

Member keithkram sent us images of four new ones today: Two Pharaoh's Quest (30090) and (30091), and two Pirates of the Caribbean: a ship (30130) (which one is it?) and the promotional Jack Sparrow minifig (30132) that I presume is the one being given away in the US with pre-orders of the PotC video game in some shops.

I think the polybag sets are most of the time really good but I rarely seem to be able to find them. Is there any store in particular that I should be checking? These sets look really cool!

the pharohs quest polybags remind me of the old advetures polybags with the plane and the car

Or the Shell sets from the late 90s.

Agree... the 30090 is pretty similar to http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=3022-1. Some nice impromements are done though!

@collectormom. They are often give-away with UK papers and after that www.ebay.co.uk are flooded with them.

That ship is probalby the Black Pearl..... but I don't know for sure. It seems to resemble the movie ship, as the Queen Anne's revenge has that large flameing lantern on the back, plus the three lanterns on the back of the mini ship are just like the Black Pearl. But it really is hard, as both ships are played by the real same ship in the movie, just dressed up diffrent.

Wow those are some nice poly bags! I love polys that come with a fig, don't really care for the small scale stuff. I only have 1 pharaohs quest set but I really like those two sets. I hope its not gonna be something like the ninjago polys. I like the new ninjago skeleton helicopter for the bone parts and the fig, but I hate the ninjago sets so I would never spend 20 bucks on ninjago just for the poly...

Why does jack have that face?

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 31 Mar 2011 12:51

im not too sure about the pirate ones but the pharaoh's quest ones look fantastic

Posted by ncbarrett in United States, 31 Mar 2011 13:26

@YYS4U the ninjago poly will be for sale after current promo, and some report they can buy them separately now.

I don't think anyone is supposed to have the Jack polybag yet. At Gamestop they said you get the figure when you pick up the game and so did TRU. I would like to know who has one already and where they got it from. Also where are people seeing the other polybags?

Posted by ncbarrett in United States, 31 Mar 2011 13:32

@starfire2 no one claims to have these yet, they simply obtained the images.

It's an almost completely black ship, so I'd say it's obviously the Black Pearl. The QAR has dark red sails as we know.

my TRU let me buy the ninjago copter for 3.49, I was not made to buy an extra 20$ of sets

Posted by keithkram in United Kingdom, 31 Mar 2011 15:17

@ncbarrett I have all these sets (I supplied the images) and as soon as bricklink approve their addition to the catalogue they will be up for sale.

Posted by ncbarrett in United States, 31 Mar 2011 15:23

@keithkram now someone claims to have these. :) How did you get them?

Any news about new PQ sets is good news to me. Will the Lego company continue the PQ series in the future?

Posted by keithkram in United Kingdom, 31 Mar 2011 15:39

@ncbarrett I can not reveal my source other than to say I know some very nice people
I dont know how and when everyone will be able to get these, I just supplied Huw with the images so you can all know what should be available.

What's up with Jacks face???

Posted by nadnerb112 in United States, 31 Mar 2011 18:20

That ship is a mini Black Pearl.

I think the April Lego Club build is Pharoh's Quest... Maybe they are for the club build...

Posted by legofanatic2414 in United States, 31 Mar 2011 19:52

Why does jack look like a wooden dummy?

Posted by brixton in Canada, 31 Mar 2011 21:06

The Pharaoh's Quest polybags look amazing. On top of that, the Jack Sparrow one looks awesome too.

Posted by The Green Brick Giant in United States, 31 Mar 2011 23:45

Target and TRU normally are the only stores that get the poly bags. I like the PQ ones are nice, have a classic feel to them.

The Jack minifig is based on the movie scene where he disguises himself as a tree.

Posted by LEGO_Lord in United States, 01 Apr 2011 17:36

/\ I think it is supposed to be a voodoo doll. /\

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 01 Apr 2011 18:47

@LEGO_Lord: Right, so we can torture Jack. ;)

Posted by Seoulman in United States, 02 Apr 2011 06:40

Jack minifig is from 3rd movie. When he is in brig of Flying Dutchman one of the Jacks becomes part of the ship. In the Pirates' movies, the sailors on the Dutchman become part of the ship after a while (part of the ship, part of the crew).

"Don't move ... has anyone seen me brain." Cap'n Jack Sparrow.

That Jack looks wierd

Posted by Brickman193 in Australia, 06 Apr 2011 08:00

It's a voodoo doll, used by another OST character on Jack. Nuff said.
