Zombie pirates sounds cheesy
glad it didnt stick

LEGO isn't really a place for Zombies... except for this set...
and, and that Zombie minifig...
and ALL those mummies...
uh...
I guess LEGO is actually the HOME for zombies!
Hooray for ZOMBIES!!!

Posted by TopperTwist in United States, 19 Apr 2011 22:47

I figured that much. I found it peculiar that the set was to be called Zombie Pirates instead of Captain's Cabin. My suspicion was correct. Either way, it's a phenomenal set with some spectacular new pecies!

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 19 Apr 2011 23:02

My box says Captains Cabin, so I don't see why it said Zombie Pirates at all. Maybe the name of the set in the UK? I noticed people are calling the Fountain of Youth set Aqua Vida?!?

Zombies? What zombies?

^ a line taken from a grand show xD

Posted by brix in United Kingdom, 20 Apr 2011 04:40

^ what show??

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 20 Apr 2011 05:03

I think the zombie name was used when the sets first appeared on shop.LEGO.com. it was obviously a mistake, perhaps a working title.

@brix pokemon I used to love it xD

I don't think the POTC sets are more expensive than other themes. Comparing City and POTC sets shows this. The new Bank and Money Transfer is 405 pieces and $64.99 while the London Escape is 462 pieces and $64.99. The Prisoner Transport is 173 pieces and $24.99. Likewise, the Fountain of Youth is 125 pieces and $24.99. The Police Helicopter is 237 pieces and $44.99 while the Cannibal Escape is 279 pieces and $39.99. It seems that POTC is similarly priced to other LEGO themes. LEGO sets in general are getting more expensive year after year though. Every year the prices seems to jump about $5 on average.

Just to let everyone in the UK know, my local TRU were selling London Escape for 46.99 which is saving you money as Amazon has it for preorder at 49.99

Posted by Jarod98 in United Kingdom, 20 Apr 2011 08:45

I really don't care what the name of the set is, I just can't wait to begin collecting the line! :D

@brixton - Another way Lego started charging us more money was with the Star Wars Battle Packs. At first they were $9.99, then $10.99, next $11.99, Wal*Mart started selling them for $12.99 and TRU started selling them at $14.99 and then the Clone Walker Battle Pack went up to $16.99. What a rip off!

UPDATE: Lego may also be releasing a Zombie Pirates set later this year or the next and someone got confused when they were posting the sets. I haven't seen any of the PotC movies so I'm not sure if a Zombie Pirates set would follow along with anything from the movies.

so.....i no this is kinda off-topic, but is it true that you can just go to ur local Toysrus and grab 'Zombie Pirates' off the shelves? b/c i've been too busy this week to go to my local TRU

Posted by Jarod98 in United Kingdom, 20 Apr 2011 09:01

@crazyawesomeyeah - Yeah, most TRUs have PotC out now, I haven't checked my local TRU (Southern PA), but I hope they're there.

Starfire2-Agua Vida would be Spanish for "Life Water". I suspect that is what the island is known as in the movie, as the Spanish were the first European power in the Carribean.

Somebody knows when Lego is going to upload the building instructions for POTC ¿? Thanks :d

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 20 Apr 2011 10:54

I know what Aqua Vida means, I just thought it was strange people were referring to the sets under different names.

Posted by natro220 in United States, 20 Apr 2011 10:56

@Jarod98 - In the first movie, all the "bad" pirates were technically "zombies", although they only show their undead form in the moonlight (like Barbosa in the Isla De Muerta set which can be switched between normal and skeleton forms). Perhaps it will be a battle pack of sorts to go with the Black Pearl when it comes out.

Posted by crazyawesomeyeah in United States, 20 Apr 2011 11:39

jarod98-oh yea, that's right! thx

natro220-the pirates in the set 'zombie pirates' goes along with the 4th movie.

Posted by natro220 in United States, 20 Apr 2011 12:27

Right, but read Jarod98's previous comment, they may come out with another set in the future titled Zombie Pirates, it would make sense to go along with the Black Pearl (assuming it is a 1st movie Black Pearl, which it probably won't be)

Just a heads up they are available now at TRU in plymouth on 3 for 2 offer just bought sets 4191,4192 and 4193

Posted by AETerry in United States, 20 Apr 2011 18:17

I don't care what they call it, that's a sweet looking little set and I want one.

Posted by legomaniac101 in United States, 20 Apr 2011 19:35

I didn't like that name eigther.

Posted by crazyawesomeyeah in United States, 20 Apr 2011 21:21

natro220-i hope they come out w/a future set titled 'zombie pirates' if they do, i'd b impressed. but if 'captain's cabin' was to be titled 'zombie pirates', ... i lost it. tell ya later if i remember it. but i think that the black pearl would be released as either movie#1 look or movie#2 look

Posted by spency13 in United States, 21 Apr 2011 00:21

I've decided to pre-order the sets at barnes & noble.com actually. kinda weird, I know. but, if you pre-oder, you get free shipping and the prices are very good. Also, I'll get %10 off each one because of my membership card!!

Posted by Frenzied-fox in United States, 21 Apr 2011 07:52
