I got the postcard for the same offer in the US a day or so ago. The offers are the same to my recollection except the price points obviously. I think it was $50 but will check when I get home (but someone will probably have posted it by then).

Posted by wb74160 in France, 26 Apr 2011 16:07

Happy to see that for once, we, french people, will have access to those promotions. I will pick my shadow ARF from TLC, and not wait a few weeks to pay loads of money on eBay or Bricklink for it.....

Posted by hleonffu in United States, 26 Apr 2011 16:07

Yellowcastle already posted the US Lego Store calendar for May in an earlier posting. It states $75 for the free Shadow ARF Trooper.

Posted by gunoz in United States, 26 Apr 2011 16:17

Based on prior years are there different offers each day, or does everything run both days while supplies last?

Posted by avacadoturban in United Kingdom, 26 Apr 2011 16:20

The TRU 3-for-2 deal was better (I'm not a fan of the ARF Clone, or of the prequel sets in general). I might have to take a look at the poster though ;)

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 26 Apr 2011 16:26

That promotion would have been better if the new sets were out! Can't wait for the pod racer and sith infiltrator sets!

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 26 Apr 2011 17:00

Gotta love the title for the article! :)

Posted by Snickerdoodle han solo12 in United States, 26 Apr 2011 17:03

Nice.I agree with starfire2,it be MUCH better with the new sets.

Posted by clowndiscus in United States, 26 Apr 2011 17:12

does the $75 purchase have to be star wars? or can it been anything? like their normal $75 runs?

Posted by mysterygoo in United States, 26 Apr 2011 17:15

Is the Shadow ARF Trooper an exclusive minifigure like the white Boba Fett?

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 26 Apr 2011 17:16

It has to be $75 in Star Wars purchases.

Posted by Ypres in Canada, 26 Apr 2011 17:27

Well if there are any super deals expect them to go fast. There are always those idiots who add 100 of something to their cart when everyone else knows Lego will just limit it before shipping. Lego doesn't always post limits, but last year it was 2 per order (which was not posted on their website).

Buy what you intend to build... otherwise you're an enemy of the people!

Posted by yys4u in United States, 26 Apr 2011 17:40

I want the trooper (hopefully he's exclusive like the white boba fett) because I'm a big fan of exclusive figs, but I HATE the starwars sets. I wish it were 75 bucks on any order. Oh well, high prices on ebay/bricklink is my only option...

Posted by surfboy100 in United States, 26 Apr 2011 17:42

I just brought a clone turbo tank at amazon.com for $96.47 with free shipping. So I still get the better deal

Posted by mrloony in United States, 26 Apr 2011 18:16

I kinda want the Shadow ARF, but I'm not spending 75$ on poor quality sets. Lego's quality in general is going down.. (I mean, I bought a megabloks set that stuck together better that a new POTC one)

Posted by joelmama29 in United States, 26 Apr 2011 18:21

This is what the U.S. promotion is offering
1. Free Lego Star Wars Shadow ARF Trooper with any $75.00 or more Lego Star Wars purchase
2. Free Lego Star Wars poster with all purchases
3. Automatic entry to win a First-edition Lego Star Wars UCS Falcon
4. Exclusive sales and deals, including Free standard shipping with all order of $75 or more, only at Lego shop at home.

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 26 Apr 2011 18:31

I'm crossing my fingers....reduced Death Star? Imperial Shuttle? AT-OT? Tantive IV? :o)

Posted by teal93mr2 in United States, 26 Apr 2011 18:31

I do not think I could find $75 worth of anything right now that I do not already have.

Posted by DrDaveWatford in United Kingdom, 26 Apr 2011 18:33

^ Same with me, but let's see what deals LEGO can come up with to tempt me into buying multiples !

Posted by TBOC in United States, 26 Apr 2011 19:33

Hmm, if I can find a good deal on Grievous's fighter or the Battle of Endor, I'm buying.

Posted by Jarod98 in United Kingdom, 26 Apr 2011 20:03

Wow, all I have to do is spend $75 and I get all the promos for the week! Free Shadow ARF, free poster, drawing for UCS Millennium Falcon, and free standard shipping! For once it's not all that bad to live 1 hour away from a Lego Store! So with this Shadow ARF I wonder if it will come out in any sets in 2012 or 2013...

Also, does anyone know what deals for what sets there are?

Posted by TBOC in United States, 26 Apr 2011 20:05

^ Not yet, it said we'll see on May 3rd.

Posted by rainstorm26 in United States, 26 Apr 2011 21:21

I am hoping that the awesome deal isn't on the Death Star as I just did the BOGO 50% off on two of them from TRU on Easter.

I am betting the Imperial Shuttle. I think they need to move a few of them. I have seen the Death Star on the most popular list at Lego.com, but never the Shuttle. this leads me to believe they will have a bargain on this.

There's a photo of the postcards front and back on The LEGO Bin, on Facebook.

Posted by war44lock in New Zealand, 26 Apr 2011 22:26

Will this be available in New Zealand? How do I find out?

Posted by cjg in United States, 26 Apr 2011 22:32

I hope the endor bunker set will be deeply discounted! :D

Posted by d00dz in Australia, 27 Apr 2011 00:33

75% off all LEGO - Price error! Like last time! Dooooooo it Lego! :P

Posted by fff in Spain, 27 Apr 2011 05:57

I highly doubt they'll make a nice reduction, but a big reduction (like last year in Dropship) in IS would make me happy :-)

Posted by Radiak in United States, 27 Apr 2011 07:24

Can someone tell me if it is available in store or online (or both)? Thanks.

Posted by LukeSkywalker in Ireland, 27 Apr 2011 08:55

^the offer will definitely be available online from shop@home, and probably in-store from Lego stores. hope that helps! :)

Posted by pyrokld in United States, 27 Apr 2011 09:25

Can anyone tell me if using VIP Rewards reduced the order amount? I know they won't count tax and shipping towards the $75, but curious if I can use my points.

Posted by vamproe in United States, 27 Apr 2011 09:41

it the past, the deals have been for the price of the product ..................how you paid (credit card or points didn't matter).

Posted by mkoesel in United States, 27 Apr 2011 09:53

Thanks for posting the details JoeMamma. My memory failed me on the dollar amount and the Falcon offer. :(

BTW, does anyone know what they mean by "First Edition"? Does this mean that the one they are giving away was one of the first manufactured? Or are they perhaps suggesting that there may be a new "Second Edition" UCS Falcon sometime in the future?

Posted by vpustote in United States, 27 Apr 2011 10:35

Do you think they will still have the free Creator Lizard gift by the time May 3rd gets here. Because we would get even more sweet deals!

Posted by flump in United Kingdom, 27 Apr 2011 12:06

@mkoesel - 'First Edition'refers to the first 10,000 units out of production in 2007. They came with a thank you letter from LEGO and cerificate to prove as such. All subsequent units were identical to the 'First Edition' other than the omittance of the certificate and letter. Same price, same box (albeit loss of the Rebel badge). In answer to your question, yes they are giving away one of those first 10,000 units.

Posted by mkoesel in United States, 27 Apr 2011 13:46

Thanks flump6523. I do remember that special first run of sets and the certificate now that you mention it. I wonder what percetage of the total production that that first 10,000 ended up being. Whatever it is, I suppose that those will command some premium in the collector market. Someone is going to get a very nice giveaway prize indeed.

Posted by atkinsar in United Kingdom, 27 Apr 2011 14:02

I'm hoping for a nice discount on the UCS Shuttle and Mace Windu's Jedi SF, the only two current SW sets I don't yet have.

Posted by Jarod98 in United Kingdom, 27 Apr 2011 15:02

My brother and I are planning on buying the 7929: The Battle of Naboo and 7931: T-6 Jedi Shuttle. That will make the 7930: Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship the only set available on shop.LEGO.com that we don't have. Does anyone know when the 7868: Mace Windu's Jedi Starfighter will be available at shop.LEGO.com for the US?

Posted by flump in United Kingdom, 27 Apr 2011 15:12

I'm struggling to see anything I want that I don't already have. I'm desperate to get hold of that poster though!

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 27 Apr 2011 15:30

@jarod98: I heard that Mace Windu's Jedi star fighter will be out around September/October. I want that set too unfortunately I don't know anyone in the UK.

Posted by CaptainJonnyBoy in United States, 27 Apr 2011 15:46

Thank you for the heads up, Last year I went to TRU and got the ATT and Swamp Speeder, then came home and found out about their sales, after I had bought my quarterly quota.

Yeah, my birthday isn't too far away so I'll try to make my siblings get me 7869 Battle for Geonosis, too bad the Geonosian starfighter won't be out yet. If they had a discount on the AT-OT like last year, I'd get it, If I had the dough.

I believe the first edition MF had a certificate of authenticity signed by Harrison Ford himself, but I could be wrong...

Posted by CaptainJonnyBoy in United States, 27 Apr 2011 15:50

I want Mace's starfighter too, so if it does come here in Sept/Oct maybe I can nab it for Christmas, now that
Indianapolis is FINALLY getting a Lego store...

Posted by rolomolo12345 in United Kingdom, 27 Apr 2011 16:40

OMG only got all the new sets last month and now im broke!!!!!

Posted by pedrocastro2005 in Brazil, 27 Apr 2011 18:08

Starfire2: mace windu starfighter is available in Bluewater legostore since 2 months ago...
I am waiting to buy it and something else.....

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 27 Apr 2011 18:17

But that is in the UK. In the US it is listed as not available.

Posted by TBOC in United States, 27 Apr 2011 19:28

Did somone say 75% off? I'll buy the Endor Bunker right there and then if so...

Posted by PocasNuckie in Portugal, 28 Apr 2011 07:19

For all those more experienced in this promos than myself, I have a question :
- At what time of the day should I expect for the promo to start? Midnight? Early Morning? Some stupid hour where I have no option but to be sleeping?

On another note :
- What kind of discounts should I and we all expect? Is it acceptable to expect minimum of say 30%?

Posted by xopher in United States, 28 Apr 2011 11:17

Last years sale had the ucs falcon, mon calamari cruiser and the dropship on sale. Plus free stickers and a contest. Everything else was full price. I would expect a few markdowns this year like last year. Maybe the death star, imperial shuttle or obi-wan starfighter would be my guess.

Posted by PocasNuckie in Portugal, 28 Apr 2011 11:23

Aren't the discounts going to be on the 8 sets shown on the promo page? ARC, Slave I, Palpy's Shuttle, Wampa Cave, Imperial V-Wing, Battle of Naboo, T-6 Shuttle and BHG.

Posted by Jarod98 in United Kingdom, 28 Apr 2011 13:10

@PocasNuckie - Hopefully, because I still need 5 of those sets and I was planning on getting the T-6 and Naboo Battle to get up to $75.

Posted by avacadoturban in United Kingdom, 28 Apr 2011 14:01

I was thinking the discounts will be on some of the older sets, specifically the Venator and the ARC fighter. If memory serves when the leaked retailer's catalogue images of the 2011 SW sets surfaced the ARC was slated to be discontinued in June/July 2011, and there was something similar to that with regard to the Venator (which will be replaced by the CW Republic Frigate due this summer).

Personally, I'm hoping for a discount on the UCS Imperial Shuttle of anywhere between 33-50% off. Fingers-crossed that we can all find something of interest during the sale :)

Posted by Jarod98 in United Kingdom, 28 Apr 2011 14:47

This may mean an end to the '6212: X-wing Fighter' as it may go at 20-40% off. The '10188: Death Star' may get finished through this sale as well along with the '8038: The Battle of Endor', '10195: Republic Dropship with AT-OT Walker', and '10198: Tantive IV'. I'd expect to see some of them go out of stock (possibly forever) in this sale.

Posted by Matthew in United Kingdom, 28 Apr 2011 15:04

If the reduce the Death Star to under £200 I know what my Christmas present is going to be...

Posted by Yellow in Hungary, 29 Apr 2011 14:33

Gotta have Tantive IV. And maybe one more Endor Bunker. A third X-wing would look nice in my rebel squadron as well. I haven't plan on Death Star, but if there will be a ridiculous sale, who knows...
I don't really like Clone Wars sets, but my son would be very happy to get an AT-OT-Dropship combo...
So whatever will be on sale, I might end up buying one (or two :))

Posted by db99 in United Kingdom, 29 Apr 2011 17:35

The new summer sets are now available for pre order on amazon. Search lego star wars play set and most are up there.

Posted by Pulpdiction in United Kingdom, 30 Apr 2011 18:15

Prices are off the chart, Ewok Attack - £25.99 on Amazon, listed as 166 pieces. Pod Racers set - £82 for just over 800 pieces, new Millenium falcon is £132 (looking good value compared to the others). Wowsers!!

Posted by db99 in United Kingdom, 30 Apr 2011 19:31

Yeah i know. Crazy prices

Posted by flump in United Kingdom, 01 May 2011 08:39

Currently at AFOLCon. Having asked the LEGO reps. specifically this morning, although they didn't tell me which sets would be on sale, they did tell me they wouldn't include any of the UCS range. :-(. Hopefully, they're bluffing.

Posted by blazetrooper501 in United States, 01 May 2011 08:52

Im going to get boba fetts slave 1 I have been waiting to get it incase of something like this.

Posted by fff in Spain, 01 May 2011 12:13

any UCS on the sale? ... hope they're bluffing too, since they shouldnt know...

Posted by avacadoturban in United Kingdom, 01 May 2011 12:46

Seems odd that the free poster will feature UCS sets only, and yet we're told that no UCS sets will be on sale?

Posted by iabstract in United States, 01 May 2011 15:21

Hmm. Hope they launch some new sets on that date, too, since I have all the current sets to date. :/

@avacadoturban:
I believe the poster features the UCS sets; they're not a required purchase to get it.

Posted by lukehankenobi in United Kingdom, 02 May 2011 19:13

Not much of a reduction. Tantive is back to last years price. Cad Banes silly thing was expensive at £35 in Argos. Obi Wans Starfighter more than last years reduction. Drophip £140something. I think i'll save my dosh for the new stuff. Might as well have been a sticker sheet like last years "big" secret suprise. Absolute rubbish. Boo!!!

The following Lego Starwars sets will have a 20% discount tomorrow:

AT-AT Walker™
Cad Bane’s Speeder™
Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter™
Republic Dropship with AT-OT Walker™
Tantive IV™
Republic Swamp Speeder™

Dont ask me how I know, but I suspec this will be 20% discount

Posted by gunslinger69 in United States, 03 May 2011 00:12

lego star wars sale is up the poster look's cool but is it me or is the ucs yoda set missing?

Posted by BrickerBricker in United States, 03 May 2011 01:05

The sales is on now. I guess d00dz has the crystal ball (as in 17 hours ahead of Calif US) and pretty much got everything right on. Still not enough to get me to jump in though. I am waiting for 50% off! :P

Posted by erbse2000 in Germany, 03 May 2011 01:53

This is very disappointing.. (I am talking about the German shop, all prices are in €)

AT-AT Walker™ 119,99 -> 107,99 -> Amazon.de sold it almost same price

Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter™ 99,99 -> 79,99, was on sale last year for 69,99 at Lego Shop

Republic Dropship with AT-OT Walker™ 249,99 -> 199,99 was on sale in a convenience store in Germany around Christmas for 209,99 and even then nobody bought this set...

Tantive IV™ 149,99 -> 119,99 only fair deal that I've found

Cad Bane’s Speeder™ 54,99 -> 49,49 -> Amazon.de sold it for far less than that

Republic Swamp Speeder™ 36,99 -> 33,29 -> Amazon.de sold it for far less than that

So all in all it seems to be just a sell out of all the old stuff. It's a good chance to get a set that you've missed (the mentioned sets are not directly availabe through amazon.de anymore) but the attractive items for collectors have been excluded (Imperial Shuttle, Death Star).

PS: Regarding the poster: where is the X-Wing 7191 and the Tie Interceptor 7181???

Posted by shaverofsheep in United Kingdom, 03 May 2011 02:04

Well since they (Lego) released the info regarding the offers that were going to be on today I have been waiting in anticipation to buy some goodies and was willing to spend a little bit of cash ... certainly more than £50.

I must admit that the offers are very disappointing, even though I did fancy the Tantive IV and therefore would have qualified for the free shipping and mini figure I'm afraid that I could not bite the bullet and purchase it.

Toys R Us (the 3 for 2 offer) was much better.

I'll just wait and see what the X-mas sale brings.

Posted by LegomanDK in Denmark, 03 May 2011 02:13

I think that the Lego company could do a lot better.... Do they think that we a fools ???
With the profit they made last year, they should be able to make a much better offer than this!

In Denmark we pay the highest price in the world for Lego and its even a Danish company!

They can keep there so called offer for them selves!

Shame on you Lego:-(

Posted by Pulpdiction in United Kingdom, 03 May 2011 02:50

Poor effort lego.

Posted by CommanderRaab in United Kingdom, 03 May 2011 03:18

I hope you are reading this LEGO.

Shame on you! We are loyal fans of your product, but dont mistake us for idiots! Remember that the decadence of Rome led to its downfall, never forget it is us the customer that keeps your business going.

A Star Wars sale should be really that, not just reducing a few prices to those which we have seen elsewhere already previously. REALLY DISAPPOINTED!

Posted by Rich69 in United Kingdom, 03 May 2011 09:53

As other comments.

Shame on you Lego. I looked last night and the offers were there at 10pm UK time. I thought wait until 3rd May and lots of offers will be up there. Looked this lunchtime, No the same as last night.

However they have messed up in one aspect. The free Shadow ARF Trooper is on any Lego sale over £50.

I bought non star wars items and got the the free Shadow ARF Trooper in my basket. So that is the only positive of this in my eyes. Buy items from pick a brick or other items and if over £50, then free shipping and you get the free star wars gift, result.

I have all the items in the star wars offers from better sales at Argos, TRU etc. But wanted to get the Winter village Bakery and some other bricks, so bought those and still qualified for the free gift.

Commenting has ended on this article.
