Nice addition (think you got the measurements the wrong way round).

I havent collected any Modular sets yet, but I will definalty get this one, there so much detail and pieces in it, and the animals are a good addition. Hope this first one will be the best. Cant wait to get it!

Posted by ncbarrett in United States, 06 May 2011 16:07

he just mistyped 11" it is 10" wide, standard 32X32 plates size

Posted by LukeSkywalker in Ireland, 06 May 2011 16:48

Great, this looks too good! The interior is really detailed too. Gonna have to get this! I kinda wish the cat came in a different colour though, it's that really cool new brown, but the cat with Hogwart's Castle is the same (correct me if I'm wrong), kinda makes that kitty seem less special. And it should have a couple of rabbits, every pet shop has them! But other than those little gripes, it's a must-have for me.
P.S. Is that guy frying the goldfish in one of the pictures??!

Posted by alexfig8 in United States, 06 May 2011 16:58

@LukeSkywalker yah I think he is frying the goldfish!

If there are any typos, they are LEGO's, I just copied what they sent me.

Jamie Berard never fails to deliver mind blowing sets.... This one left me speechless

Posted by Firox 5000 in United Kingdom, 06 May 2011 17:26

The price is a bit stepp but is a little bit cheaper than I expected. I thought it would be £132.99 [thats £13 saved luckilly].

I like the set but It seems like the modular series is starting to head the same way as the creator house range(5771 & 5766). Less pieces, smaller size(nearly 10cm shorter than the GG) and higher prices. Less bang for you buck all round.

Posted by Nesquik in United Kingdom, 06 May 2011 17:51

Exactly JonBoy. The Fire Brigade costs £20 less, yet contains more bricks pieces. Hmmm...

Posted by Dodge in Canada, 06 May 2011 17:52

Not that the $199.99 CAN price is a steal, but I was worried it would be more.
This should be a nice addition to the line and I look forward to putting it together!
Also, just a little too stoked about an orange fish! I really shouldn't be but... IT'S AN ORANGE FISH!!!

@Huw: I figured because it looks like you got it from a Lego Release...

I like the new pet shop.. I know there are people out there that do not, but I like it. There is nothing wrong with having a 'two' building set, as long as they do not keep it up :-)

I do wish they'd 'release' it this weekend though instead of Mondays or Tuesdays

are the gold fish a new mold, or are they the standard ones like in the fisherman, PoP market scene, and medieval market village? The standard size seems a bit too big to me

shop.lego.com current says it will be available on 2011 May 10.

So $269.99 in Australia. It's almost 50% cheaper in the US. Hope some of you Americans will sell these to us on bricklink and ebay.

These two buildings could easily fit in a Sesame Street themed layout.

I am getting this as soon as it arrives at the Mall of America Lego store.

"Limit 5 to customer" They must think we're very wealthy.

Thanks for the good picture updates Huw,
Plus why is there no fridge? The fire station has one right? I'd like to have a fridge in there...

Posted by Be-Burger in Israel, 07 May 2011 03:36

On the LEGO shop site it says 10" wide

Posted by brixton in Canada, 07 May 2011 07:59

Originally, I wasn't too impressed with this set but I was wrong. After seeing the high-resolution photos this looks amazing. Why does LEGO keep doing this to me? I want to buy this set now too!

Posted by TheKingOfBuilding in United Kingdom, 07 May 2011 09:06

@StormSworder: lol

Posted by Legoluch in United Kingdom, 07 May 2011 11:28

The long wait is finally over! We have been waiting more than a year for this!

Posted by bodybomb3 in United Kingdom, 07 May 2011 11:50

Finally the modular and what a great job they've done. The price is great 'cause if you think about it each building is £60 with around 1000 pieces for each one plus if you have VIP membership then you get 119 points! I'm glad they bought back the green sweater aswell.

Posted by Pulpdiction in United Kingdom, 07 May 2011 18:20

So does thie mean the fire station (10197) will be discontinued soon? It's coming up 2 years old now.

Posted by jonboy2000 in United States, 07 May 2011 18:46

bodybomb3 what are you talking about?????????

Posted by duilim in Australia, 08 May 2011 03:28

Got to have it. Much better than the Fire Station, but probably not as impressive as the Green Grocer (which is by far the best of the lot IMO) or the Grand Emporium. The only thing I really hate is that these modular buildings tend to only ever appear in 1 department store here in Australia, and they only get about 4-5 sets in each time so you have to be quick or miss out (or alternatively, order from the Lego site and pay a ridiculous postage fee on top of buying the set - as if we Australians aren't ripped off enough already!).

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 08 May 2011 07:24

Picking up this the next time I head over to the LEGO Store! Anything Jamie does is worth picking up. He uses harder to find colors and you always learn new techniques when building his sets!

Just ordered from Shop at Home. Yah!
