Looks like a nice set. I don't know why many TFOL's don't like Technic. I, for one, love it.

Ooh, I like it, if its not too expensive I'm planning on getting it...

Looks quite nice, just that door looks a bit out of place IMO.

Nice to see a greater use of panels in the newer technics. I can only see this trend increasing, which is a good thing - I think a lot of people's objection to technics is the look of the models, so more panelling is the way to go.

It is already listed as available in Germany. The price shows up with 49,99€, so with 590 parts I would call the price rather "normal" than "expensive"!

"Limited Edition" has, I have come to realise for Technic at least, come to mean "sub-par set". The last one to have it was 8041 Race Truck from 1h 2010... it had nothing more than steering and an engine. This one is pretty much the same, with a cheap suspension set-up too. I think they stick it on sets that they seem to have put less effort into, to fill the quota.

However, if people who don't normally buy Technic get turned on to buying more of it from this one, then that's good. I will wait for the Unimog later on however... allegedly, it's going to have over 2000 pieces, making it the largest Technic set yet.

And while more panels is definitely a good thing, part of the point of Technic is to see the complex mechanisms driving them :)

I totally agree with Wiseman about the sub-par comment. Why had the race truck even a tilting cab? The engine is located on the back... the tilting cab just shows a gaping hole underneath. What a disapointment! :(

First post on here so please be gentle!!! Good to see some Technic chat on here for a start. I would also agree with Wiseman with regard to both the poor 8041 set and the comment about waiting for the Unimog. This looks a fantastic set and I can't wait for it. Having been away from LEGO and Technic for the last 25 years or so, I have really got the bug again and looking forward to buying Technic models old and new.

@Markey, "Engine in the back"??? I thought we were talking about 'Extreme Cruisers' not Ford Pintos! XD
