This year's Christmas special is a Post Office

This is slighly old news but peter1975 reminded me yesterday that the next in the Christmas toy shop / bakery series will be a post office. No details or photos have emerged yet, but it's listed on a Dutch toy shop's website, and if like the others, it's a Jamie Berard design, it's sure to be excellent.

Old news? This is New News to me! :) Can't wait, I love the Christmas sets, they're a little expensive but there's something really special about them.

Same as LukeSkywalker, this is news to me to! Hopefully I'll be able to get it this year as I barely bought any Star Wars sets before Christmas so I had to go with all SW. Now I own almost all the sets that are out right now for 2011, and hopefully a summer job will pop up, so I can get the Wave 2 Star Wars sets. A post office would just be so exciting, I don't think I've ever seen one (in Lego form) since I got into Lego.

@kai28 - I hope you're right!

Thanks for the heads up! Definitely I will get this as my 3rd set. Building up my Christmas theme so that we can display it during the season instead of those ceramic ones.

Finally a post office! :)

Posted by Zackula in United States, 29 May 2011 13:37

Awesome! I got the toy shop and my sis got the bakery last year, maybe we could get this to complete the theme.

Cool! I got the Bakery last year, and I hope to make these Christmas specials a tradition. I'd be great if every year Lego brought out the previous specials, as I missed out on the Toy Shop :(
P.S. I heard that there was going to be a Star Wars Advent Calender this year, is that true? (If it is, I can't even imagine what the price might be)

Great, a post office.

Yey! So excited, that I actually (finally) had to create an account instead of just reading others posts!
Great news - I have my birthday in the end of November, so the last two years my boyfriend has given my toy store and the bakery - now he knows what to get my this year!

I can't remember - when do these holiday sets usually get released?

I remember buying the Toy Shop in early October, and I think it had just come out around then.

This will be interesting, wonder if TLG will include any new minifig parts and/or elements and what the name of the post company will be (if there is one) - LEGO Post?

Posted by JDLego in Canada, 29 May 2011 23:25

Wow I was not expecting for the holiday set to be a post office, I was waiting for one when Lego released the city mail van and mail plane, but no post office, I do hope it matches the city look, but if not I will get it anyways, does anybody have a release date? Price? or picture?

Posted by romdam in United States, 30 May 2011 00:10

I'm going to say that pic is not the set. The figs look older and not fitting. The US flag I don't think would be part of a set like this either. The set just looks to plain to be a special.

Glad to see I am not the only one with these thoughts. When I first saw it that is what came to my mind ...This of cousre is means nothing (the pic that is) as it was just something in the BL forum.

bluemoose,legoDad- Thanks! Oh wow! It really is true! Maybe we will see a darth vader snowman!

@Jarod98 LEGO has previously released one or two post office sets in the past. They are rare.

Posted by brixton in Canada, 30 May 2011 19:16

I still have to get the Winter Village Bakery and the Winter Village Toy Shop. So many sets and no place to put them all.

Posted by georgebjones in United States, 30 May 2011 20:51

I love these holiday special sets. Yes, I will be buying one and more at the end if the season when they go on sale.

Posted by AETerry in United States, 31 May 2011 13:21

I think a Post Office I'd go for.

Posted by commodorelegolas in United States, 31 May 2011 22:39

I might buy this set, it just depends on its price and looks.....

Posted by kai28 in United Kingdom, 01 Jun 2011 06:20

If they are already talking about Christmas, does that mean that PotC's Black Pearl won't come out until next year? :(
