Although the first set has been up for order for a few weeks, today (1st June 2011) marks the official launch of the Master Builder Academy (MBA). You can read the official product announcement here.

Through the Ambassador programme, we've been told that although the MBA is currently US-only, if it is successful it will be rolled out across Europe as well; no word on timescales or other regions at this time, sorry.

Cool! This looks much better than Brickmaster.

Gotta wait til I've the "surplus" funds to look into this.

Definitely want in on this. Looks fun for the family...learn some techniques and get a couple of exclusive figs!

I ordered mine the day it was avaliable. So hopefully mine should show up soon. Was hoping it might be here today, sometimes they show up the day of release even though they say they ship on the 1st.

The program looks cool, but not available in Canada!!!!!!!

Just received automated notification from Shop LEGO that my pre-order shipped today.

Posted by vpustote in United States, 01 Jun 2011 19:19

I hope it's successful. I can't wait to get it in the mail. Depending on how cool it is will determine whether or not I get the other sets.

@wiredforsound, did the notification have the actual set in it? I got a message that said mine shipped, but it's only the free pick a brick box that comes with it.

I'm gonna have to see if I want to put some money forward for this. With the initial subscription being $39.99 and the extra kits being $69.99, that adds up to a grand total of about $110.00.

@vpustote - I received notification that my set shipped along with the free PAB box. Matter of fact, I bought four of the sets because of the free PAB box it comes with. Those boxes are great and you can store so many more pieces than the standard cups they use in the store.

The sets do come with 'exclusive' astronaut figs. pretty much what you see on the box. Its nothing too cool looking but if your a collector you're definitely going to want to get in on this.

@vpustote - I got 2 separate e-mails, sent about 1 hour apart. 1 notifying me of the shipment of the MBA kit, the 2nd one notifying of the shipment of the PAB box.
I'm surprised they would ship them separately.

I'm starting to post pics and will hopefully do a review soon (if time permits):

@SarahIsabella,
@1265.... I got a second email today. Apparently, they did the same thing as your's Sarah, shipped them separately. They probably could have saved a buck and sent them together. I wouldn't have minded if they waited an extra day to ship them together.

I sure hope this comes to the UK!

Hmm. I was interested in this when they first mentioned it, but now after reading how it works and the sets being offered my interest has wanted.

Hi.
I ended up buying and subscribing to this even though I am outside of the US using a dispatcher/forwarder.
Costs a little more but I think it is worth it-anyone gone to the Member's area yet?

I'm going to be updating my page as the kits arrive:
