Just a reminder that Brickworld Chicago starts next week; Wednesday 15th through Friday 17th are the 'conference' days, open to pre-registered attendees only, whilst Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th are the 'public' exhibition days, with tickets available at the door.

You can get the full info on the website here, including the very full looking program of events - http://www.brickworld.us/chicago/

Are you planning to attend, either for the full AFOL experience, or just for the public days? Let us know!

I'll be there with my family for Saturday and Sunday. I went last year with just my oldest (4½ at the time) and they are both excited about it this year.

This year will be my third consecutive trip to Brickworld. (The convention has been going on for five years now.) It's always a great weekend that draws a huge number of fans and visitors.

From the Brickworld website:
Brickworld is a convention created by Adult Fans of LEGO (AFOLs). The target groups for the full convention are AFOLs and Teen Fans of LEGO (TFOLs). There is a registration option geared toward family participation along with the public exposition hours on Saturday and Sunday.

Brickworld is a gathering of like minded hobby enthusiasts that want to share what they have created, what they know, games they play, and many other things. The fully registered attendees allow us to open the event hall to the public on Saturday and Sunday to share their creations with anyone.

Brickworld also has family friendly parts of the convention. These are covered by the Light Registration option. This allows families with kids to get many of the benefits while still keeping parts of the event more adult oriented. The registration options are described below.

We ask that all attending the event support our motto:

I'll be there for the entire time. This will be my first time to display a portion of my collection publicly. I'm really excited and nervous about this. I have to fill a space of 60 s.f. or 384 studs by 224 studs. I have made a master plan to reconfigure a portion of my LEG room into 48 X 48 stud base plate sections. This will allow me to set up and take down the display in an orderly fashion. I hope many of you will stop by www.LegoDT.com

As big of a Lego Fan as I am, I've never been to one... It live so close to Chicago that it would be a waste not to go. What part of the show do you recommend me going to? And can someone tell me what it is exactly? Im not quite sure...

I can't wait! See some of you there!

I'll be there the entire time as well and will be displaying as part of the Northern Illinois LEGO Train Club. If you are near Chicago this is an event you should not miss. If you are not a registered attendee then the only time open for you is public hours (Saturday and Sunday). I recommend coming early. There is the possibility of a line and the earlier you are the more freedom you have to see the MOCs before it gets crowded.

@Juwayyid: I would suggest coming on early on Saturday morning that way you have the chance to see all the rooms and still have time to go back to see things again.

I'll be there the whole time :) I'm not bringing any MOCs this year, but I will have a vendor booth that I'll be selling my custom LEGO keychains, necklaces, etc.

This will be my second year and I look forward to seeing all my fellow AFOLs and friends :)

It would be wonderful if someone would video tape and post online the videos of all the workshops, presentations, and roundtables! This would also be helpful for those who did not get a spot in some of the workshops that are currently showing as full. I'd even be willing to purchase these on DVD. Hint hint Brickworld organizers!

Unfortunately I'm unable to attend because of work obligations. I hope everyone has a safe trip and a great time. Can't wait for the photos of the displays to be posted to flickr!
