I think this set is a waste of time it didn't even appear in the film. The only 'new' minifig is the piolt (which is bruce wayne wit a hat). Lego could have did a better exclusive set, maybe the tank from the last crusade.

Any links? I can't seem to find it on there. Anyhow, thanks for the news Grahame!

http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=7628 - US site says not available. UK has it as backorder.

Aw come on, We need it here in the US.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 11 Jun 2008 09:54

It's possible that LEGO received news, Ultimate Brickmaster, of a rescue plane scene that was originaly going to be in the movie, but then Lucasfilms decided to take it out. I really think that LEGO jumped into kingdom of the crystal a little too fast. I mean, look at the Jungle Duel set; Irina didn't split the table in half, it was Mutt who flipped it over. Anyways, I guess this is LEGO's way of showing what could have been. hehehehe :D I don't think I'll be getting this set, unless it's inexpensive.

Posted by legomanspencer in United Kingdom, 11 Jun 2008 10:52

The plane looks nice in its own way. Yet too expensive for me. Should have been around half the price.

Posted by Sky-guardian in United States, 11 Jun 2008 10:55

looks nice but it's probably to expensive

Posted by indyjones in United Kingdom, 11 Jun 2008 11:07

i dont see why lego are not selling this on there site for immidiate order, just pop round to your local tru and it will most likely be there i got mine at tru

Posted by lego12 in United States, 11 Jun 2008 11:28

The temple isn't even accurate to the set! Neither is River chase, except for the car! And this airplane actually appeared in the movie. It was in the scene where they were flying to Peru.... :D

I guess your right leggodt, at least the plane had a 2 second cameo. I won't pick this set up unless its 1/2 price or somthing too.

Posted by hustla187 in United States, 11 Jun 2008 17:38

The plane did have a cameo, but I don't think it deserves to have its own set.

Posted by Carl Sagan in United States, 11 Jun 2008 19:38

come on, practically none of the new IJ sets have anything to do with the fourth movie anyway. this set seems like a good take on the whole lego IJ movie-style though. looks like we'll have to wait and see; I can't find it on U.S. shop at home anyway.

-Carl Sagan

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 11 Jun 2008 21:22

Carl Sagan, the majority of the new IJ sets are from the fourth movie. I don't know what your complaining about.

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 11 Jun 2008 21:29

how much in canada

Posted by Carl Sagan in United States, 11 Jun 2008 23:35

Sorry to leggodt and everyone else who misunderstood my previous comment...

By "none" I meant that the sets shown, while being very cool, are not reliable as depictions of the movie (I DID see the entire movie). True, the jungle cutter and amphibious car are all accurate... but they were not major parts of the movie, for example there was no chase as suggested by the set with the car, and the jungle cutter had very little screen time before it was blown to pieces. As for this new set, there were various planes that were shown in the movie but again, they were not a major part of the movie. I certainly cannot fault lego for making the sets more enjoyable, with additional vehicles etc.

At the end of the day, I don't really care how movie-accurate the sets are (but I would really love an Adventurers-theme revival)

Posted by Legobuilderguy in United States, 12 Jun 2008 01:56

This should be only about 60.00 USD. And either way I am going to get it because I like the way the plane looks and it gives me another Russian guard and a nice looking car as well.

Posted by indyjones in United Kingdom, 12 Jun 2008 02:47

i saw the movie twice and are seeing it again today (3 times a charm)and this set is in the movie when they are at the airport there is one with cargo being loaded on and another flying over irinas head in the sky but apparently, this was in the movie as a rescue plane but they replaced it with something else.

Posted by hustla187 in United States, 12 Jun 2008 17:09

I do remember that scene though Indy Jones. It was silver, not yellow.

Posted by AngryBullDisease, 12 Jun 2008 18:59

I saw the movie, and this part isnt really that important.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 12 Jun 2008 19:30

Well, Carl Sagan, I guess your right about the Jungle Cutter. I guess that LEGO was looking for unique vehicles to make sets out of even though they might not have had much screen time. I still think that LEGO should make a cut-out model of Barnett College for a set. Me and my big ideas. hehehehehe :D

Posted by bountyhunter29, 12 Jun 2008 20:55

I'll probably get it. Not for the figs, but the plane looks really nice and would be a nice addition to the collection. The Russian truck looks like a good sort of vehicle for its size, nothing like the stupid tracked thing that came w/ the temple. And I've been watching the trailers and saw the accessories released for the new film, and the Jungle Cutter was quite a popular subject. To tell the truth, it is my favorite indy set (apart from race for the stolen treasure). It is an awesome vehicle! The KCS line is certainly turning out good vehicles. I think the KCS sets would be much better if they just stood alone, though.

the rocket sled i think would have made a worthy $15 set in my opinion ;)

Posted by moloko in United States, 13 Jun 2008 10:01

I love the jungle cutter set. That is the only set I really want. Im a tread guy though. I do wish they would make the IJ tank from the third one.

Posted by lego12 in United States, 13 Jun 2008 10:41

You have to actually build the tread moloko. It is a cool set, but the only downside is that you have to build the tread with little pieces....

Posted by SillyQuack in United States, 14 Jun 2008 11:20

This set is not really in the movie, but if you watch the new film on lego.com it shows it as the plane that Indy travles on to get to his places. I think I will get anyways, after all, it is 1 day after my birthday... I haven't checked, but what is the $? Like 50 or so... I think it may be worth it if it is....

Posted by lego12 in United States, 14 Jun 2008 22:44

I think $50-$60. It is a very nice plane with good design, and it comes with good minifigures and another crystal skull, so I think it would be worth it SillyQuack!

Posted by GreatBear in Canada, 15 Jun 2008 17:17

I'm a bit surprised by some of the scenes/vehicles from Indiana Jones that have NOT been done as LEGO sets. This DC-3 plane is nice but surely many more Indy fans would be interested in the Flying Wing seen in Raiders.

Posted by train_nut in United Arab Emirates, 16 Jun 2008 12:34

Posted by lego vally in Australia, 17 Jun 2008 06:31

Posted by Rayquaza100196 in United States, 18 Jun 2008 10:16

Will it be available for the U.S.?

Posted by SillyQuack in United States, 18 Jun 2008 15:24

Hello,
I'm a new member to Brickset.com. I'm a HUGE LEGO fan and Indiana Jones fan! I have mostaly STAR WARS LEGO sets and I don't just let my LEGO's sit around, I play with them and make up stories. I used to have a big story with my STAR WARS LEGOs. It was based after episode 6 with Luke Skywalker's Jedi Academy and so on. I have alot of STAR WARS information due to my cousins. I'm a STAR WARS geek. I'm also an Indy fan, as I said before. I have an Indy story too!

My LEGO Indiana Jones sets (In order how I bought them) are:
- Indiana Jones and the Lost Tomb
- Indiana Jones Motorcycle Chase
- Temple Escape
- Race for the Stolen Treasure
- Jungle Duel
- Temple of the Crystal Skull
- MUESEM (custom model)
AND NOW...
- Peril in Peru
I just ordered it!
I think it is great!
