    Collectable Minifigures/Series 5, 2011
    More details...

Looks like the Series 5 collectable figures are starting to roll out across Europe now - we've had reports of them in Poland (at E.Leclerk supermarkets) and in the Czech Republic. We're assuming they'll be appearing across the rest of Europe very soon - why not post your sightings here or on the forums and help out your fellow collectors? Or add them to the Google tracker map that 'kylejohnson11' has setup here.

Thanks to 'Pawel Kaminski HWS' and 'Zelyonii-Zaktan' for the news. And thanks to 'kylejohnson11' for picking up after 'Ugly Duckling at Bricklink finished with the tracker maps.

And we in the US have to wait until September. We usually get them first, but I suppose fair is fair... Not that I'm happy about it.

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 26 Jul 2011 13:05

I wonder if these will be in the Halloween section at Target again??

Posted by Matthew in United Kingdom, 26 Jul 2011 13:28

Any news for France anyone, I'm not back in the UK until 8th August.....

Posted by ytjedi in United States, 26 Jul 2011 13:31

Re @starfire2: What's left of them by then maybe. If Europe is getting them now then they should be hitting the US in the next week or so. They'll have been out a good month before Halloween stuff starts coming out. But it could time things nicely for a Series 6 release around Christmas!

Actually to be honest I haven't heard anything about a Series 6. Usually once the new wave is coming we already catch wind or previews of the next wave, so I don't know.

Posted by beefygrefe in United States, 26 Jul 2011 13:57

@ ytjedi: There was an article in Brickjournal calling out that Lego will be doing through series 8 and it also mentioned that series 6 was being wrapped up about the time that series 3 was released. But I would have to agree that we should see series 5 in the states soon along pics of series 6...I mean, geez, we had pics of series 5 when series 3 came out.

I wouldn't be surprised if Target gets Series 5 in their next holiday section. Collectible minis have been far more prevalent since series 3 came out and you can still get series 3 and 4 at Lego brand retail stores (even our local TRU still has series 4 on the shelves). I'm actually wondering when series 3 is going to be discontinued...?

Posted by K-nut in United States, 26 Jul 2011 14:02

@jarom_moroni - I believe TRU is ready to ship them on August 16th or something.

@ytjedi - Last year we didn't get pics until around October or November, but we did get the list of figs around middle of August.

@beefygrefe - I've seen series 3 on shelves! I'm glad because I still only have three elves. Target will probably have these from October to December.

Posted by Redbullgivesuwind in United Kingdom, 26 Jul 2011 14:03

they are out in WH Smiths in England at the moment as i picked up 3 the other day

Posted by Aurelius in Czech Republic, 26 Jul 2011 14:43

Could I ask where in Czech republic they are available?

Posted by brickzone in Ireland, 26 Jul 2011 16:38

Smyth's Toys online catalogue (www.toys.ie) shows them as due to be in stock on 1st August here in Ireland.

Posted by m8anU1 in Australia, 27 Jul 2011 00:38

Its says in the latest lego club magazine catalog for australia that they will be available in september series 5

Posted by aplbomr79 in United States, 27 Jul 2011 01:17

I can still find S3 at my local Walmart. Not sure what LEGO is doing, but they are truly missing the mark on the 'buy now' euphoria.

I lost interest after I discovered the quality in these 'Series Minifigs' were sub-par. I love the characters, but they are just cheap. Especially at nearly $4usd a pop.

Sorry to be such a curmudgeon.

Posted by legopants in Germany, 27 Jul 2011 05:29

Popped into my local toyshop this morning (in Winnenden, SW Germany) and asked when Series 5 would be in stock. The shop assistant looked in the LEGO Catalogue (2011 July-December) and told me September. I'm pretty sure the new minifigures will be available before then, if Series 3&4 are anything to go by.
Also called in at Müller Markt - the remaining Series 2+3+4 figures have been reduced to €1.00 (no doubt to make space for Series 5).

Posted by teabox in Sweden, 27 Jul 2011 05:40

They have been available in Sweden since Monday at least (in a hardware store called Clas Ohlson of all places).

Posted by didgeboy in United States, 27 Jul 2011 10:33

Any sitings in the US yet??

Posted by TimothySRossi in United States, 27 Jul 2011 10:48

No sightings yet. Toys R Us says shipping on 8/16/11. I know for the last two series Toys R Us had them almost 2 weeks before our Lego store here in North Carolina.

Posted by Ad the brickmaster in United Kingdom, 27 Jul 2011 11:18

WHSmith Guildford had them in yesterday (the 26th)

Posted by kylejohnson11 in United States, 27 Jul 2011 11:49

I'm chomping at the bit. I'm hopping Fred Meyer gets them this week (10% off coupon)!! They were the first to get Series 3 in the states :)

Posted by yys4u in United States, 27 Jul 2011 13:11

This may not be the right place to post this, but since @ytjedi and @beefygrefe mention series 6, I found these pictures on eurobricks. They are POTENTIALLY the first pics of series 6, its two figures that haven't been seen before, and don't know what they're for, but they certainly look high quality, and if its an imitation, or custom, its the best I've ever seen.

http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=54898&st=105

Check it out about half way down the page.
Thanks eurobricks member @Alywin if you happen to be on brickset as well.

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 27 Jul 2011 13:44

Thanks for the great pictures, yys4u! They definitely look like they could be Series 6 minifigs.

Posted by beefygrefe in United States, 27 Jul 2011 13:58

@yys4u: Interesting...I agree that they look fairly legit, but I don't know if I'm a fan of 'em...kind of weird choices for figs. But then again, the Collectible Figs line is for unique figures.

I'll be looking forward to the official pics...then I'll be able to figure out if I still need a box or not.

Posted by K-nut in United States, 27 Jul 2011 14:00

What color do you think they'll be? I just was about to send that in!

Posted by Zander in United Kingdom, 27 Jul 2011 14:08

Just bought 10 packs of S5 at WH Smiths, Oxford St, London.

Don't know what I got yet!

Posted by skipper1011 in United States, 27 Jul 2011 17:27

@yys4u That Statue of Liberty is pretty neat. Lets hope these are both real.

Posted by GeluNumber1 in United States, 27 Jul 2011 18:17

I'll call TRU and see if they're in across the pond--they got a new truck in today, after all

Also--those new minifigures look awesome.

Posted by Zordboy in Australia, 27 Jul 2011 19:38

Oh darn it. I was hoping to have until September to save up for the next set.

Posted by voypro in United States, 27 Jul 2011 22:36

You know what... I am glad my AFOL brothers & sisters across the pond got series 5 first. We in the USA have gotten the last two series a bit faster, so what is fair is fair. Congratulations! It seems the cost of legos is cheapest by far here in the states, and what they do to our northern brothers in Canada regarding US$ vs CA$ is awful. So good for you guys.

Australia / New Zealand should get series 6 first.

Posted by af.riem in Netherlands, 28 Jul 2011 04:45

I have not seen them in the netherlands, but on ebay they are only available in the uk. So not on the mainland of europe, but on the island.

Posted by Ravenhook in Australia, 28 Jul 2011 04:50

@voypro I've spoken to The LEGO Group and they told me they're going to cancel distribution of Series 5 in the USA! The reason is the use of the word "legos" which is apparently a criminal offence... ;)

Posted by ensign_dave in United Kingdom, 28 Jul 2011 07:22

I've gone through my box of UK series 5 figs and can confirm you get:

5 x Boxers, Grenadier Guards & Zookeepers.
4 x Cavewomen, Detectives, Dinosaur Suit Men, Fitness Dancers, Lumberjacks & Small Clowns
3 x Ancient Egyptian Women, Dwarfs, Eskimos, Gangsters, Male Snowboarders, Murmillos & Graduates

A lot fairer than the previous series that contained only 2 scientists.

Posted by xcrossx in United Kingdom, 28 Jul 2011 07:40

@Ravenhook

Hahahahaha, very good!

Posted by eiker86 in Germany, 28 Jul 2011 10:00

Ive bought them all but i miss them here on Brickset. When are they coming to the site?

oh, and i also got 5 grenadier guards in the box i checked

Posted by Jayr17 in United States, 28 Jul 2011 12:44

Any identifiable markings on the packaging? al le Barcode? Or will we just have to feel for the different pieces?

Posted by Zander in United Kingdom, 28 Jul 2011 17:48

Spots like the last few series, not barcodes. I have been using the feel method and so far have done OK. Most aren't too hard to identify by touch if you take the time. Some but not all of the spot patterns are easy to ID. Between the two methods it shouldn't be too challenging to tell them apart.

Posted by Markey in Belgium, 29 Jul 2011 07:00

I got 5 at my local WHSmith this morning. They keep them behind the counter, which is good, so nobody can feel out the good ones!

The cheap plastic looks awfull though. You don't notice it so much on the dwarf, as there's a lot of detail, but the lizard guy looks very tacky and cheap! :S

Posted by Zander in United Kingdom, 29 Jul 2011 08:27

@Markey They keep them behind the counter to reduce theft. If they're not too busy and you ask nicely, they will generally hand over the box. At least they did at WHS Nottinghill last night and have done at other branches in the past.

Posted by K-nut in United States, 29 Jul 2011 10:24

@Zander - I'll be happy to take some of those off of you're hands if you'd like :P

What's weird is that though I like this series, I'm not as hiped up for it if you know what I mean.

Posted by JDLego in Canada, 29 Jul 2011 10:46

@ Zander & Markey, same here, most stores keep there Box`s of Minifigures either behind counter or in view of the employes, like Toys R Us, Chapters, Turtle Pond, etc. Some though, on the other hand keep them in the Lego Section, for example Walmart. One day I was going there to pick up the last Box of Series 3 they had, only to find out when I got there, the employe told me that someone had opened the box, and opened all the packets and stole all the pieces to the Minifigures!!!, what a shame, I was looking so forward to it, and mad at that person. Anyways so now they dont carry them anymore. I do hope when this Series comes around They`ll have them in stock. By the way, anyone seen them in the States, Or Canada???(Yeah Right!) :)

Posted by Matt mason in United Kingdom, 29 Jul 2011 12:38

I have 13 of them now only need the detective, dwaft and small clown which shall be easy to feel for. Got them at wh smiths in the Trafford centre (8) and wh smith in Middleton (5) both stores had them on the counter and were happy for me to stand there and poke around in the boxes. Hopefully get my last 3 this weekend.

Posted by nadnerb112 in United States, 29 Jul 2011 23:14

That pic of the 2 series 6 figs already made series 6 my fave.

Posted by Com161 in United States, 29 Jul 2011 23:36

Does anyone have a dot code translator for series 5 yet? It would really be appreciated.

Posted by Matt mason in United Kingdom, 30 Jul 2011 09:10

Got my last 3 on the way home from work woohoo. Pity you can't put pics up here would love to show off my display case I have just finished. Got all 80 figures in.

Posted by LukeSkywalker in Ireland, 30 Jul 2011 13:55

They're out in Ireland now too, they put them out on the shelves in Smyths today. Got most of them, spent ages feeling the packets but couldn't find a dino-guy or a boxer. Hope the bump codes are revealed soon. There's definitely at least 2 bump variants, got two gladiators from different boxes and each packet had very different bump patterns, the batch numbers were different but the fact that the same shop is selling two batch number sets makes things a bit more complicated.

Posted by JDLego in Canada, 31 Jul 2011 12:47

@LukeSkywalker- Where in Ireland did you find them at? My sister just went there and I want her to stop at a local Smyths to see if they have them, let me know so I can tell her, really looking forward to them!

Posted by spency13 in United States, 31 Jul 2011 14:23

Seriously?! Not in the US yet?! I mean, that's nice that the UK gets them first for once, but I want them now!! ;)

Posted by Captain Blockbeard in United States, 31 Jul 2011 16:40

I wonder if it's coincidence that Series 1 and 2 arrived in Europe first, then Series 3 and 4 came to North America first, and now Series 5 has arrived in Europe first again. Or has Lego intended this back and forth of which regions receive the earliest shipments?

Anyway, I'm patient. I can wait until the approximated mid-August US TRU release. Hopefully, by then there will be dot code sheets.

Posted by LukeSkywalker in Ireland, 31 Jul 2011 18:10

@JDLego Sorry only just saw your message, was away today, climbing Croagh Patrick! :) I saw them in the Smyths Toys store in Galway, and I assume they're available nationwide by now. They had about 6 boxes out, most of them were away from the tills so I stood there for a good while feeling the packets and finally managed to complete my collection today.

Posted by burrellbloke in United Kingdom, 01 Aug 2011 08:29

Is anyone selling Series 5 minifigures "by the box" on Bricklink yet? I was able to pick up a box of Series 4 minifigures a few months ago.

Posted by mo123567 in United States, 01 Aug 2011 14:19

I ordered a box from klodsland.dk on bricklink but it looks like they are sold out of full boxes. They still have 65 random bags sold seperately.

Posted by Mr_Le_Pook in United Kingdom, 02 Aug 2011 09:46

I got an unopened box of Series 5 minifigs from WHSmith in Cheshire Oaks at the weekend.
They were in a "3 for 2" offer so it only cost £79.40.
There were 3 complete sets plus 12 spares!
