This morning's trawl for new instructions at LEGO Customer Services revealed this cute teddy bear Creator set which, if I am not mistaken, is Pudsey from the BBC Children in Need appeal, which this year is on November 18th.

If so, then I think it's safe to assume it'll be available in the UK sometime soon. However, a quick Google hasn't revealed anything to suggest that LEGO is involved in the appeal in any way. Hopefully more news will be forthcoming soon...

Incidentally, the trawl for instructions is now automated and runs every night, so keep an eye out on the new instructions list to find out what's been added recently.

A bit dissapointing that the eye patch thing isnt lego but oh well

That's cool, I like it. Any chance of setting up an auto news post with the new instructions found, or perhaps just those where it reveals new sets e.g. polys?

I did wonder about doing that. Any new sets found have to be added to the database manually, but I do get email notification which prompts me to do it, then of course it appears in the 'new sets' list above.

That is just the cutest thing, though it's a bit of a shame they didn't try to make the bandage fit tighter around its head; as it is it looks kind of awkward. If LEGO really is involved in the appeal, that'd be nothing short of fantastic on their part.

I'm glad LEGO is (hopefully) going to help children in need. I think the bear is ok, but could have been better designed (including that bandanna).
However, I believe LEGO may charge higher than normal for this to a) cover the production costs (as with all LEGO) and b) for the donation costs- I'm presuming a certain percentage of this will go to children in need (as with most fundraising products) and LEGO will charge for the 'extra percentage', if this makes sense.

@Huw/atkinsar; I like the sound of this 'auto instruction adding', it will ensure the all the latest instructions will be added immediately, keeping the database as up to-date as possible.

^Instructions are added automatically overnight, the bit atkinsar has asked for is notification that some have been added, by way of an automated news article on the home page. That's certainly possible and given they are not added every day -- usually only once or twice a month -- it probably wouldn't be too intrusive.

@Huw: NO! :( I want humans to post articles, not automated robots! :( I hate robots posting automated articles... :(

Kind of an interesting design, except for that paper-looking bandanna thing. D:

@Alemas: You sound as though this has been done before.

Kinda cute, I thought it was a lampshade on his head lol

It is ironic that LEGO will not allow pictures of the Brandenburg Gate out in the public domain, but the instructions are on their website. :)

according to the lego.com website (if you look for the new october calender) lego is donating all profits made to children in need. bear cost £4 and is out on 3rd of october. there is also some free christmas gift when you spend over £50 & the date for the VW camper in store.
