    ?

Here's the competition you've been waiting for, with the prize so cool I don't want to give it away!

We've teamed up with the Community, Engagement and Communication team at LEGO  to give you the chance to win these two ComicCon exclusive preview edition Super Heroes minifigs!

These Green Lantern and Batman figures won't be available anywhere else until 2012, so this is your chance to get hold of them before then!

The competition's aim is to raise awareness of the LEGO Super Heroes Challenge building contest, which offers a grand prize of a trip for 4 to Warner Bros. Studios, WB Animation, and LEGOLAND California Resort and the complete 2012 LEGO Super Heroes: DC Universe collection.

All you have to do is answer the question on the competition page. You can find the answer on the contest's website at LEGOSuperHeroes.com. Once you've done so, get building and enter the Challenge!

AND ANOTHER COMPETITION! :P Huw, Brickset wasn't created for competitions! :P It was created for new set news!! :P XD This is getting worse than the LEGO Club Magazine competitions... XD

EDIT: Huw, if you're replying to this, I'm going to bed. :P

Posted by bluemodern in United States, 20 Sep 2011 17:33

Awesome competition! That was an easy question.

Posted by orybloodmyre in United Kingdom, 20 Sep 2011 17:40

What is so bad about a free chance at winning minifigs? It costs nothing for goodness sakes! I for one would love a batman minifig, I was gutted the batman sets were only available in the USA!

Posted by historynut in United Kingdom, 20 Sep 2011 17:46

@orybloodmyre Batman sets were available in the UK for a year or two...I got the set with Robin & Penguin and the Arkham Asylum set before everything went crazy on ebay and prices went through the roof.

It would be cool to see more batman stuff and I can't wait for Capt America :-)

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 20 Sep 2011 17:49

There's no pleasing some people, is there...

Brickset has evolved beyond just being about new sets and is now a cornerstone of the online LEGO community with over 250,000 visitors a month and it's great that LEGO value it and our community enough to run competitions like this here.

Posted by Redbullgivesuwind in United Kingdom, 20 Sep 2011 18:05

not that bothered if you dont like Alemas one less person to beat

Posted by bricksan in United Kingdom, 20 Sep 2011 18:16

I think it is great and also this site is what all other LEGO sites aim to be as good as (well mine does anyway ), plus I have entered as never won anything but always a first time.

Posted by TooMuchLEGO in United States, 20 Sep 2011 18:16

@Alemas: Then why is there a forum? And a set database? And reviews? Eh?

As for me, I'm happy. I wasn't into LEGO Batman when I was younger. Here's a chance to save me money and get two awesome figs, and popularity points with the LEGO nerds I know. :)

Posted by TooMuchLEGO in United States, 20 Sep 2011 18:36

Hey Huw, for the section that says "Your name," should I reply with my username or my real name?

Posted by The Guy With The Bricks in United States, 20 Sep 2011 18:49

Wow. Crazy how someone lectures that site's creator on what he created the site for. Also quite sad that sometime thinks that whole site should revolve around their wishes without thought to what the 249,999 others who frequent it may want. I don't personally plan to enter the contest, but seeing a post on it certainly harms me not at all. I guess complainers will always find fault...

Posted by durins in United States, 20 Sep 2011 19:00

I'm gonna win!

Posted by Nightshroud99 in Canada, 20 Sep 2011 19:39

Oh wow I want that Green Lantern figure!!!! Must have now!

Posted by Dodge in Canada, 20 Sep 2011 19:45

I was a bit disappointed that the Super Heroes contest was only open to those in the US. I had all sorts of ideas, with no chance to win. If I'm wrong, somebody tell me quick! But otherwise it was a bit disheartening.

Thanks for this contest Huw. I think it's a great idea... and a GREAT prize!

Posted by johnnyvgoode in Guatemala, 20 Sep 2011 19:48

Thanks for the opportunity, Huw! "These Green Lantern and Batman figures won't be available anywhere else until 2012". Do you know for a fact that the figs are getting released next year? If so, I'd be extremely happy. :)

Posted by JDLego in Canada, 20 Sep 2011 20:09

@Dodge- It's open to everybody, from the US, Canada, and the UK. You can enter, if Im wrong let me know, because I entered anyways, Hope I win, I really want these, well im sure everybody does! I already have the batman Fig, but the Green Latern is the one I really want, great idea Huw!

Posted by Ypres in Canada, 20 Sep 2011 20:23

Well I entered... I'm not too upset about losing. As long as the winner treasures their prize and doesn't even think of re-selling it! *lol*

What a freaking-cool prize though!!!

Posted by eggsfooyoung in Canada, 20 Sep 2011 20:42

Aww...these contests aren't available in Canada!

Posted by Thomson & Thompson in Canada, 20 Sep 2011 22:01

So you win the minifigs by entering the Brickset competition, and you win the trip by entering a video or picture at LEGO.com, right?

And, from what I've heard the trip competition is not open in Canada, right?

EDIT: I've entered! I Hope I win!!

Posted by TooMuchLEGO in United States, 20 Sep 2011 23:18

@Ypres:

What about giving away a minifigure to a friend? :-P

Posted by sarlacc98 in United Kingdom, 20 Sep 2011 23:48

Yeah or trading with a friend? xD

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 21 Sep 2011 02:42

Anyone can enter, wherever they are in the world.

Posted by Sam Butcher in New Zealand, 21 Sep 2011 03:05

Huw, Does that go for both this Brickset competition and the Lego Superharoes competition? I couldn't find any infomation on their page about who it's open to.. Cheers for another shot at an awesome prize!

EDIT: Nevermind, I see the superheroes compitition is only open to residents of the US or the District of Columbia. Ah well.

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 21 Sep 2011 03:14

^ I couldn't see anything that excludes anyone either, so I assume it's opene to everyone.

Posted by atkinsar in United Kingdom, 21 Sep 2011 05:16

Huw, there's nothing I can see in the T&Cs about Brickset employees/staff being excluded, should I assume this is an omission, or can I enter?

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 21 Sep 2011 05:47

^ I decided that everyone, except me, can enter: it would look really bad if I won!

Posted by DrDaveWatford in United Kingdom, 21 Sep 2011 06:10

This'll attract a few entries I suspect....!

Awesome prize, and the tiny minority of moaners really need to get a grip.....

Why not double the chances of a win by splitting the prize and letting the first out of the hat choose which fig they want ?

Posted by grandbuilder2001 in United Kingdom, 21 Sep 2011 07:49

What day in October does it finish?

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 21 Sep 2011 08:01

Monday, 3rd

Posted by Thomson & Thompson in Canada, 21 Sep 2011 09:02

^^Good idea.

So the LEGO competition is only open to the US?

Posted by bionicle212 in United States, 21 Sep 2011 12:14

that's a good idea dave! I just want batman. :D

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 21 Sep 2011 12:27

The Brickset competition is open to everyone.

Lego's competition (the super heroes build challenge) is "Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia only. Participants under the age of 18 must obtain permission of a parent or legal guardian in order to enter. Offer void where prohibited or restricted by law." (copied and pasted from the competition website).

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 21 Sep 2011 13:57

@Huw's reply to me: So... it has become kinda like The Brothers Brick? :P It was a humble blog before, now look where it is... :P

Posted by Nerd in United States, 21 Sep 2011 14:41

Easy question. Please keep doing contests for us in the USA!

Posted by LukeSkywalker in Ireland, 21 Sep 2011 15:22

Thanks for the heads-up @Huw, I love Lego competitions - the more the merrier! Would love to get my hands on Green Lantern, I think he's a brilliant character, and the possibilities of Lego constructs that he will be imagine-up and create from his ring are endless. :)

Posted by johnnyvgoode in Guatemala, 21 Sep 2011 17:32

@Huw Are these figs going to be released next year? Of course I'm participating on this, but just on the very likely case that I don't win, I'd like to know if I'll be able to get them
next year. On your post it seemed like you were suggesting that they are indeed going to be released. :)

Posted by Cligra in United States, 21 Sep 2011 21:32

Do we submit our usernames or real names?

Posted by Juno in United States, 22 Sep 2011 12:31

I just entered! That question was easy! :D

Posted by Jonny 2 Scarves in United Kingdom, 22 Sep 2011 12:54

Huw, is there a limit to how many times someone can enter? Is it just one entry per email address? Thanks very much.

Posted by Berrybrick in United States, 22 Sep 2011 14:42

/\ During the last constest, he deleted all repeat entries (except for the first of course) /\

Posted by Hello_World! in United States, 22 Sep 2011 14:50

^^There should be one because otherwise one could just enter four (4) times knowing one would be right.

Posted by Thomson & Thompson in Canada, 22 Sep 2011 21:39

^^^Good question.

@bluemoose - thanks.

Posted by nodnarb162 in United States, 23 Sep 2011 08:13

uh...im a little confused :P are we just supposed to answer the question on the compitition page? or is there anything else we need to do? because it said

"All you have to do is answer the question below. You can find the answer on the contest's website at LEGOSuperHeroes.com. Once you've done so, get building and enter the Challenge!"

so whats this building its talking about? or does it have nothing to do with the contest on brickset?

Posted by atkinsar in United Kingdom, 23 Sep 2011 10:25

^ The two competitions are separate. To enter the Brickset competition, all you need to do is answer the question on the competition page. The reason that Brickset is asking a question about the LEGO Superheroes Challenge Building Contest is to make you aware of/encourage you to enter that competition as well, hence the part in the news story:

"The competition's aim is to raise awareness of the LEGO Super Heroes Challenge building contest, which offers a grand prize of a trip for 4 to Warner Bros. Studios, WB Animation, and LEGOLAND California Resort and the complete 2012 LEGO Super Heroes: DC Universe collection."

Hope that clears it up for you.

Posted by nodnarb162 in United States, 23 Sep 2011 15:03

ok thx :) i cant enter the lego contest though because im in canada :( .

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 24 Sep 2011 05:41

^ Yes you can, anyone, anywhere can enter.

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 24 Sep 2011 13:01

I guess it's my turn to try and explain. :o)

BRICKSET CONTEST= Open to Every Brickset User
- To win, visit the LEGO Superhero Challenge page (via link above) and read about that promotion; then go to the Brickset Competition page (via different link above) and answer one question here based on what you read there. The competition here closes at midnight, Oct 3.

LEGO SUPERHERO CHALLENGE = Open to U.S. Residents Only
- To win, visit the LEGO Superhero Challenge page (via link above), read the directions, and then create and submit your entry prior to Nov 15, 2011.

Posted by sarlacc98 in United Kingdom, 24 Sep 2011 14:37

It seems no one realizes that anyone can enter!

Posted by tomchiverton in United Kingdom, 24 Sep 2011 16:08

The submission form appears to have the same broken email validation as the site account creation form, namely it doesn't believe in plus signs in the part to the left of the @.
I bet it doesn't like non-ASCII characters either, you should fix this before IDNs get more widespread, or just remove the complicated validation entirely and just insist on an '@' with one '.' to it's right.

Posted by nodnarb162 in United States, 24 Sep 2011 19:24

@huw, i know we can enter the brickset contest :P i was talking about the contest that lego is doing

Posted by sarlacc98 in United Kingdom, 25 Sep 2011 19:13

@yellowcastle wow I guess alot of people are going to win the Lego contest =p
