A Eurobricks member has posted a huge image of the new Batcave set in the Eurobricks Forums. I'm not sure about the set itself, which seems to be heavily reliant on stickers for its look, but the figs look great.

(Thanks to adello25 for the news.)

They have finished the set ALREADY?!? :P IT'S ONLY OCTOBER, FOR MINIFIG'S SAKE!!! XD

Really disappointed. I was looking forward too these sets. It looks like a 6 year old created this set. Looks really plain, small and "juniorized." The vehicle pieces are like duplo pieces! :( LEGO really wanted to finish this set before Christmas!

I think huge is a bit of an understatement- it's enormous. Like the size of an elephant. I can see the detail, yay!

Edit: @Alemas: They finish the sets a long time before release... and there's only 3 more months dude.

@LegoCity: According to the Eurobricks members, the set seems to be based on the 60s TV show, which was cartoony. I got to say, the original Batman sets did look a little "dark" in mood...

@TooMuchLEGO: I should be saying those things, not you. XD I'm the senior reporter at the MBs. XD Oh well, the leader can learn from his inferiors... XD

I can easily say that I prefer this iteration to the older. It's less of a gloomy cave and more of a base. The yellow and blue is nice, and the phone is also cool. It seems to be oddly positioned, though.

But I don't like Bane's mole-mobile. It's too garish.

Meh. Except for Robin, it's a bit lame, for lack of a better word.

Their are some connector pins in the pictures, so maybe this could be a chance of a extension :) or it could be just for the jail cell :(

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 14 Oct 2011 17:51

@TheCahleySlash: I bet they're used for the jail cell. :P

@huw I think the eurobricks link links back to fbtb.net that had sourced the image from the NYCC.

@alemas I don't think they are based on the 60's tv Batman, though they it does seem lighter in tone than the previous dc sets. This robin is all red (and with a black version of the clone wars obi wan hair?) which I think makes him Tim Drake rather than Dick Grayson? Probably meaning we'll see another version of Dick as Nightwing at some point.

@Andhe: The hair seems to be new. Not sure, though. Let me check...

EDIT: Nope, I was wrong, it's a recoloured Clone Wars Obi Wan hairpiece. Oh well. :P

Off-topic: Huw, why don't you introduce "fuelbreak"?... ;) You said you would introduce him today. :)

Some 2012 set pictures have been revealed! Check FBTB for more info.

^Why not, Huw?

Speaking of 2012 sets, CMF Series 7 pics are now up at Flickr. Sorry, I know that was off topic! But anyway, I also think this set is immature. I just wish Poison Ivy could be in a cheaper and nicer set.

It looks OK, its a great starting point for a Batman MOC. The figures look great, but if its over £50, I will wait till a sale like most of the wave.
@spency13, Series 7, are you sure? I know Series 6 pictures are out, thats quite a shock.

slightly disappointing for me, but might just be the pic. It looks targetted at the younger end of the buying scale.

Dread to think how much this will be after seeing the new 2012 city set prices, got to be £80 at least.

I really can't wait to see the other sets... did anyone else google what a HeliCarrier was? *Tee-hee*

6868 better be good!

I would have preferred something darker to go along with new movie but they do need to appeal to little ones (my six year old will love these sets).

I don't think it is based on the 60 TV series (ideas like the red bat phone, yes). Looks more like they are basing it on the actual Lego Batman game. I would imagine they plan to do another Batman video game or a "DC Heroes" game (one for Marvel too probably). This collaboration was a huge ip and win for them. I bet they go full throttle.

If they do a series of superhero minifigs collectors sets (for maybe some lesser know heroes and villains or harder to mold ones like clay face)...
