Greetings from Colorado! I'm bored to death at work so I decided to check out your blog on my iphone during lunch break. I love the info you provide here and can't wait to take a look when I get home. I'm shocked at how fast your blog loaded on my cell phone .. I'm not even using WIFI, just 3G .. Anyhow, awesome blog!

Brill, been waiting for clearer Dino images, especially of the HQ, for ages.

I do like the look of the HQ, and could be great if modded with more bricks for a bigger set. Only slight downside is that the Dino sets look loaded with stickers.

Some of these CITY sets are simply excellent. I like the fact the Lego has chosen to go back to authentic/life-like situations, and the garbage trucks are a sign of this. Alongside the modular buildings, they'll look amazing!

Yeah, the Dino series look quite wonderful. Very JP-ish. And the actual dinosaurs are really gorgeous, the best dinosaur-pieces we've ever had.

I also quite like the forest-theme of the new city sets. The gold mine, and cabin, look really great. Plus, the forestry plantation fire fighting sets are nice too. With more car doors! I thought we'd seen the end of car doors several years ago, but they seem to be making a resurgence, bless them.

I have to say, I simply love the Dinosaur sets... The new dinosaurs are brilliant, a big step up from the Dino Attack sets a few years ago. They were very stylized and huuuge. These new ones are much more realistic and minifig scale.

I can already see the explosion of Jurassic Park MOCs to come from these sets. (Myself included)

I can't wait to get my hands on as many of these sets as possible :-)

Friends: *Pukes* :P Well, it's a girls' theme anyway... Still, the... friendfigs could have been worse. :P
Cars: Eh, more scenes from Cars 2. Finn McMissile now has a printed 1X1 round tile as a headlight. Oddly enough, it's in different positions in Oil Rig Escape and his stand-alone set. :P And who is Jeff Gorvette anyway?! :P
Dino: Jurassic Park, anyone? :P They seem to be trying to catch escaped dinos. A bit like JP, then. :P
Star Wars: The minifigs are the selling point, really... :P Yellow-eyed Anakin, anyone? :P
City: Forest rangers, and civilian jobs, yay! :P There's even a caravan! Oddly, there are three sets related to rubbish collection. :P
Technic: Apart from the logger and wrecker, not much. The usual gimmicks...
Games: The criminal and policeman in the City Alarm box art are the same ones in the City mini-movies! There's even a mini version of the Minotauros game! And I have no idea what the face on the dice in Kokoriko represents, either. :P
Racers: Oh dear. :P Crashable monster truck cheesiness galore. :P They have ran out of ideas...

EDIT: The Friends boxes look weird. They have curved sides. Hmmm...

I'm not a big fan of cars but the Fransesco Bernouli and Jeff Gorvette sets look pretty good.

The entire Dino theme looks amazing. I hope it's more than one year though. Alien Conquest was equally amazing but I don't think LEGO will be continuing that theme. With Dino, I like how each set comes with a different dinosaur. While every set in this theme looks great, the exceptional sets for me are Ambush Attack, Tower Takedown, T-Rex Hunter and Dino Defense HQ. Seeing these sets makes me very excited for the mystery set that hasn't been revealed yet. Keep in mind when this theme was first announced I expressed no interest whatsoever in it. After seeing the images I am pleasantly surprised.

One of my favorite themes is the City theme. While I won't be getting the forest fire sets, the Fire Plane looks amazing. I've seen images of the Ambulance and it looks great. I will definitely pick up that set. The Garbage Truck looks great but I already have the orange Recycle Truck released 6 years ago. I prefer the new Garbage Truck as I think it looks better. The Car & Caravan and Patrol Car look great too. Two more sets I'll consider picking up. The maroon SUV in Police Pursuit looks good too. I don't think I've seen that colour used in a city vehicle before. So far the best of the police sets for 2012 looks like it'll be the Heavy Lift Chopper.

For the Friends set, Stephanie's Cool Convertible looks good.

Series 6 of the Collectible Minifigures looks good but series 7 looks even better. It's going to be an expensive year.

The Friends sets are going to be great for gathering bricks in what I consider mediteranian colors. Also, I haven't seen the clear piece used to create the doorway in the Butterfly Beauty Shop... but I've got ideas for modular building for all these colors! Also, explains why I've started to see dark pink show up on the worldwide PAB walls listed at brickbuilder.

Lego just needs to connect with Breast Cancer research with this one. My marketing background would consider that to be a no-brainer to increase sales amongst female populations (even if LEGO headquarters once again went with the social-norm of female interests instead of really realizing that people like my nieces just want to see more female mini-figures in roles such as firepeople and police people, instead of homekeepers, waitresses, and nurses).

Aside from some sets looking more junior-ized (like the off road Fire truck), nice selection.. A new Garbage truck and I like the Recycling truck/center.. The off road vehicle has two motorcycles and a neat looking RV....
If the Fire Plane does not have printed Fire logos that means with some tweaks that people can make old commuter style airplanes with that set...
Camper, tipper truck, Ambulance... YEESH!!!!
A a new animal.... a BEAR????
Heavy lift chopper the same... Wow, like other said above.. 2012 is going to be expensive.. I wonder how the forest Police HQ is going to look...

The one thing I do like is it appears that Lego is finally building a lot of (hopefully) cheaper sets Im guessing due to the world's economy... which is good... I was waiting for this... Amazing looking sets though, and that is just CITY....

I love alot of these new City sets, Ninjago has some nice ones. Like Kai's motorcycle could be used for Robin :D
Hero Factory is slick, although Surge looks lame. Black Phantom will be my first buy.
Friends.......
Dino 2012, is ok.. I was expecting better figures, most of the faces seem to be smiling like fools. I wanted tough looking figures. The rifles are nice though; the dinosaurs, sets.

Looks like Lego is reviving some old themes; Friends(Belville), Dino(Dino Attack) and Racers! I'm not to big a fan of the Friends theme, well from the looks of it nobody else in the comments is either :). Well, Lego has to pitch products to a wide audience that appeals to everyone. The Dino theme looks pretty nice, nothing else really to say. Racers, not impressed. They remind me of the smasher series. The City theme looks fabulous though, it looks like the theme had a major reconstruction. I'm also digg'n some of the technic stuff too :D

I love the new Civilian Vehicles for city. Definitely going to buy 2 of the Recycle and Garbage Trucks. Caravan and Dirt Bike Transporter look sweet. Also love the Dump Truck, might get 2 of those also. As for the Forest Police and Fire sets, pass on those as I already have too many of those type of themes already. It would be nice if these hit the shelves during the holiday shopping season.

It's all right, I found out that Ivan Mater is a bad guy, but in Cars 2 normal Mater dressed up as Ivan, which is what this model is proabably depicting. I'm still wondering that blue is new, though.

I like the friends sets! I'm not sure why they have to be sooo pink, but otherwise, I think they'll appeal to the target audience. The minifigs are weird, but they can be removed!
Best of all, new animals. The cat is odd, but the hedgehog looks great :)

(It was probably a female LEGO designer who made that theme, or a Dad with a daughter that works at LEGO, and made it for her).

Aww man! Aww man! AWW MAN! I don't say this a lot (Actually, probably never said this) This has got to be one of the BEST line ups of sets I've seen in a WHILE!
City: Park Rangers? YES! An extremely cool idea. A new bear? YES! And now we can finally actually PLAY with the fire fighters with real fires instead of imagining every thing. (Imagine that :P) And civilian stuff, Lego is really fine tuning their city sets.
Dino: Great, when I saw those sets I was instantly brought back to the glory days of Lego with Johny Thunder Dino theme. Love the new guns with a scope attachment thing. My only problem, the Dino's don't resemble Lego's at all! Especially the T-Rex (Looks like my playmobile Dino) But over all a great theme (Shame, as I know it'll be gone in two years :(
Friends: What can I say, eh. I'm not personally excited about them, but they look like they have a bunch of MOCing pieces. And girls are really overlooked by Lego, so hopefully they'll enjoy them.
Hero's: Are these the sets that were so hyped about??? No offense, but all I see is a lot of Galidor and Ben10 rehash. Although obviously better then any of those themes. The pieces are nice for HF MOCing, so if the price is right (13 below) I'll consider getting some. Batman looks good and stands on his own. The Joker is a joke IMO (Pun intended :P) And green lantern is Meh. But I'll try not to judge a book by it's cover and wait for a full piece review before I make my final opinion. I'm not really interested in the other themes so I won't review them.
P.S. It seams the CM's are a bit like a minifig beta. They can see what sells the most and what ones are most wanted. We've seen many examples of CM being an early view of themes to come (PQ, Rangers, Dino with the nurses shot gun thing as the medicine in the Dino guns)
Oops, forgot Spongbob. I've never been a fan of the show, but I always though the Lego sets brought some interesting pieces and designs to the table. These new ones are no exception. I love the Flying Dutchman, a really cute Pirate set and boat. And the bikini bottom set is a nice re-design of the old one.

The Star wars set look superb. Especially the droid escape, tie fighter , battle packs and the planets. The x wing is ok but we have seen that set relased quite a lot.

The Dino theme looks amazing although I probably wont get all the sets.

City looks much better than this years sets and I really like the town sets and the forest police ones however dont really need the fire ones that much.

Technic is ok and I think better than last year.

I dont really have much time for cars ,friends or hero factory.

I love the new CARS 2 sets. Not so much becasue they are CARS,but because they are CITY compatible. For example:
1. Red Waters Rescue (set 9484), the firetruck can at least be modified to have a transparent windscreen with trans-clear cheese slopes. It may not fit mini- figs but it works!
2. Agent Mater's Escape, (set 9483) the sand green car can fit a regular trans-blue windscreen like this part. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2437 Once again, it won't fit minfigures, but you can just pretend.
3. Oil Rig Escape, (set 9486) is just ripe for turning into a CITY scaled Oil rig. You just need this part http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3678a in trans-clear for the crane. And the orange car? Just use the first windscreen I linked to above.
...And while I'm on the subject of converting to CITY, these sets are also convertable:
4. Macks Team Truck (set 8486) to a CITY semi truck
5. Flo's V-8 Cafe (8487) CITY Gas Station, though you need two for a decent sized Gas station.
6. Tokyo Int. Speedway (8679) Race track.
7. Big Bentley Bus Out 8639 (you need at least 2 of them) CITY Clock Tower

Looks like there'll be a ton of cool stuff next year.

The city sets all look good, but I'm liking the Forest Police. Gotta have one of those Lego Ranger figs.
The dino sets have a nice look to them as well, and I do like the design of the dinosaurs.
I actually like the look of some of the Friends sets, just because they contain a lot of rare colors. The theme in general doesn't necessarily appeal to me, but I do hope it does well.
I am also loving the next wave of Ninjago sets. IMO, that will be the best theme next year.

The friends sets are rather interesting. When browsing the sets I brush off the odd figures and start looking at pieces and colours. Better yet are some of the buildings. While girly in colour places like Vets and Cafe are lacking in my "auto-mall" City collection (in other words too few buildings). The Girl-firgures appear to be only a bit bigger than normal minifigures as the sets appear to have regular size doorways.

That considered, lets pretend these sets don't sell very well. I now it's much too early to talk like this but imagine your level of disposition to such a product (Friends) when it starts getting marked down by 30%....

City sets are good but nothing great. I'm rather surprised by many of the other members reactions because I've been only collecting City for one or two years and I'm sort of yawning over half the line. I'm only really interested in the new Forrest-theme figures and so on. Otherwise there's just a few odd things I'll pick up on a sale.

Hooboy. Even with Alien Conquest seemingly gone, looks like next year's the year where I fully commit myself to bankruptcy in the name of childrens' construction toys. Methinks I'm definitely going to need to get multiples of those new bear figures; indeed for the first time in a while I'm giving some consideration to active City purchases. Might be dropping for some Star Wars as well, by the look of things; I do so love a good Eta-2 Actis.

@Rolyat24- I think Harry Potter is done for Lego now, seeing as how Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows the movie anlready came out, and what else is Lego gonna make for Harrypotter? theyv;e made everything, so If im right I'd pick up all the Harry Potter sets before they're gone, I did. My thoughts on these 2012 sets, Im a huge city fan so I'll be picking these all up, as for the rest for the themes not really liking them, just city and Super Heros.

Some remarks from Central Europe:

Cars: Oil rig from the cars series could also work in my lego city? From the picture it is difficult to assume the actual size of this building.

Friends: Smaller Sets (Interior Sets) can be used for my city buildings (e.g designer, scientist). Larger sets (cafe, beauty, vet) are a nice addition for every city.

City: Due to the fact that I own about 5 police stations, the police forrest station will be used in my city as factory building, the bear will get a new home in my zoo.

@Huw, thanks, that's what I thought. They are managing to introduce at least one part from my wish list every year - I love it! (Prior examples: 1 x 3 tile, 2 x 4 tile, 3 x 3 interior corner slope, 1 x 1 with one stud, 1 x 2 cheese slope, etc., etc.)

I think Friends is a great line, depending on the price point. What it offers that Belleville never had is that it's a lot more brick-based, so you can use all those parts in other models. And it floods the market with pastel colored bricks, which excites me. Best I've seen so far is the 6-piece tool wheel in purple (from Olivia's Inventor Workshop)

I really like the new SW battle packs. They should have done this all along with some good guys and bad guys in a set. All past sets were typically either all bad guys or all good guys. Plus I have been looking to expand my Endor models. At some point I want to get the shuttle and build the landing platform and a bigger version of the bunker.

It looks like those brick bricks are 1 x 2, sort of like the grille/vent brick, and the pattern is only on the long side (again, like the grille/vent). That makes turning corners awkward, but still a pretty exciting piece

In general, I'm not into the sets where everything/everyone looks like they're ready to do bodily damage to each other. (Mayhem is okay, though, so go Alien Conquest! I'm going to pretend those are water guns.)

With that said, my natural inclinations are towards the City sets. I do like the bear noted above and the dark oldie cars. The heavy lift helicopter is different and substantial. In the dino sets, the triceratops manages to look cute, I think. The lookout tower I like too, just because "buildings" are more neutral. Oh, these would be my first tropical plant parts.

Now for Friends. At first, I was dismayed at another offering for young females that doesn't have the standard minifigs. How are you supposed to play with your brothers/cousins/friends if you're stuck with miniature (small) Amazonian (compared to standard minifigs) Barbies (check out the bodily proportions)? Then I realized I'm not 10 anymore and may have lost my ability to think like one, so I should just look at the bricks. They're nice! In alternative colors. (Certainly not going to see those highlighted in Star Wars.) I can buy the workshop, bakery, house, treehouse just for their lovely colors. Maybe the convertible if I can get past the blonde's bad dye job. (Lego sometimes doesn't match eyebrow colors to hair. Quite jarring for me.)

Overall, happy I have some options next year but will not be out-of-control!

AHHHH!!!! *Starts crying* Why???? WHY ANOTHER Y-WING???? WE HAVE ENOUGH Y-WINGS AND X-WINGS AND TIE FIGHTERS!!!! And why does Lego add a random mini fig that has nothing to do with the set in SW? (I fail to remember when you see Leia flying a Y-wing)

Why were the NinjaGo images not uploaded. I had checked them out on the German site and they looked good to me.

@giraffefreckles: The Workshop is a definite - all three shades of Aqua, a round 1x1 tile and another copy of the Mad Scientist's beaker. And the convertible has several cheese slopes in new colours, though it also has a lot of parts that wouldn't be much use elsewhere.

Also, the style and proportion of the Friends minifigures looks remarkably similar to the Character Options buildable Doctor Who figures.

I can't wait until these come out!!!!!!!! p.s. These may be 2012 sets, but we all know they'll come out a few days before Christmas, so they can get into everyone's stockings, so that shortens the wait for when they're released
(just saying for all you city set fans (ME)) i can't wait!!!

Yep, I got the 2011 smart-like car for Christmas in 2010 and Target had them at $4.99. So expect these sets to come as early this time next month.

@morgan19. Apparently, the Friends' hair pieces are compatible with regular minifigs. At least, they were in the test stage.
