    NInjago 2012 minifigs

    Roving Brickset reporter (as he likes to call himself :-) ) Warren is at LEGO World in Zwolle this week and brings us this picture (plus two more in my flickr stream) and this report:

    "From the AFOLCON / LEGO Show team, who are over in the Netherlands at the moment at LEGOWorld, come these high res pictures. The new range of 2012 Ninjago figs is on public display at the LEGO Designer booth. As well as the new snake tails, there are new staff pieces, protective headgear, 1x1 tiles and two new snake heads too. All are printed as far as we can tell.

    "These should be available in sets from the start of January and the designer, Mark Stafford, will be talking about both the first and second wave of Ninjago sets in 2012 at AFOLCON next May."

Typo in the title, Huw... :P Anyway, any details on the plot? Who is Lloyd, is he good or bad, etc.?

Hate the snakeman with the double snake head - at first it looks like the snake heads are eyes and the printing underneath is the mouth, other than that, the figures are awesome - especially the new ninja outfits...

Interesting, certainly.

I like the ninjas on the right, super cool but the other variations are not as good, I look forward to see where the theme takes its next direction in 2013

I was talking to my 5 year old daughter telling her it looks like Star Rangers and then My daughter told me.. "They look like Ninjago Rangers". hahahaha.. She corrected me...
The Serpent minifigs looks nice.

Posted by Andhe in United Kingdom, 26 Oct 2011 09:50

@Alemas Lloyd is Lord's son and the new baddie. Whether that will be some big reveal or if I've just ruined the plot twist remains to be seen... :P

Some great new parts, but that 2 headed snake is still hideous.

Posted by Gandalf1 in United States, 26 Oct 2011 09:52

Cool. Any news about this green ninja I've heard about?

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 26 Oct 2011 09:52

@Andhe: I don't think he is. Lord now has two extra arms and looks meaner than ever, while Lloyd seems unsure what to do in the Rattlecopter set. We'll have to wait and see!

Sounds more like a thinly veiled promotion for the next AFOLCon than a 'roving report'... ;D
The new shoulder-pad piece with crossed-sword holders on the back is quite groovy.

One of these was also discovered in Zwolle, in the loose bins of parts on sale to the public. Probably shouldn't have been there:

Still don't like the ninja ice hocky players...

Posted by legoman98 in United Kingdom, 26 Oct 2011 12:40

Hmm, i wonder what the back of the headgear/shoulder piece is like. I do hope that the clip that used to be on the ninja headgear is not there. Jay's crossed swords is a good hint of that...

Posted by Nightshroud99 in Canada, 26 Oct 2011 12:45

I'm loving those Ninja's however the snake people... Not so much lol

Posted by Ypres in Canada, 26 Oct 2011 12:51

Beautiful pictures, thank you!

While the Snakemen look "different" it's not like that'll stop me from buying the sets to attain a copy of each Ninja.

Posted by Joefish in United Kingdom, 26 Oct 2011 12:57

legoman98 - it's a ring that sticks out from the back-plate with slots in the sides for inserting the swords at various angles. It's part of the shoulder armour, not the headdress.

Posted by legoman98 in United Kingdom, 26 Oct 2011 12:58

Joefish - Really? Thanks! Any pictures of this?

Posted by glamdring804 in United States, 26 Oct 2011 13:08

Awesome!!! Can't wait to get them.
I wonder why they only included three of the kendo ninjas?

Posted by theBrickBlogger in United States, 26 Oct 2011 13:34

In the 2012 LEGO Ninjago Lord Garmadon and Sensei Wu reconcile and Lord Garmadon becomes a good-guy, and now his son, Lloyd Garmadon, is the bad-guy. He teams up with these snake-people to fight the the good guys. That's the sotry in a nut-shell...(c;

@theBrickBlogger: Can't be true, look at my comment above. :P

Snail warriors!

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 26 Oct 2011 13:56

@Yooha: SNAILS?!? O_o

Posted by legoman98 in United Kingdom, 26 Oct 2011 14:03

Anyone got any pictures of the back of the shoulder piece? I really want to know what it looks like comparing it to the PoP sword holder.

Posted by BJMdotLEGO in United Kingdom, 26 Oct 2011 14:51

Loving those ninja outfits. I wouldn't mind some samurai though, liek the old sets: http://www.brickset.com/search/?year=1998&query=ninja / http://www.brickset.com/search/?year=1999&query=ninja / http://www.brickset.com/search/?year=2000&query=ninja (Man, I can't believe I missed those back then. Granted, I was still in my "dark years", but I was buying Star wars sets, so you'd think I'd have noticed LEGO ninjas...)

Posted by AETerry in United States, 26 Oct 2011 15:11

I like the snake men, definitely want to get some of them. The one with two heads really is the most awkward looking of them.

Posted by Yooha in Europe, 26 Oct 2011 15:13

Alemas: the two-headed snake looks like a snail-head to me.

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 26 Oct 2011 15:35

@Yooha: Ah. :P

Posted by JonnyRonny in United Kingdom, 26 Oct 2011 15:47

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 26 Oct 2011 15:49

@JonnyRonny: I don't mind. :P

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 26 Oct 2011 16:44

theBrickBlogger: Well I like your story better then mine, but why is Llyod being shot at by snake people and why does he look scared? And why is Lord look meaner and is side by side with the snake people?

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 26 Oct 2011 16:50

@itsaturket: Exactly! :P That's what I said!

Posted by Thomson & Thompson in Canada, 26 Oct 2011 17:02

Posted by furno23 in United States, 26 Oct 2011 18:02

I would like to see pictures of the 2012 spinners.

Posted by ambrose in Australia, 27 Oct 2011 03:31

YES, there is going to be a second wave!!!

Posted by JonnyRonny in United Kingdom, 27 Oct 2011 05:18

^ not trying to be rude but there has been prelim pics and hd pics for months

Posted by JonnyRonny in United Kingdom, 27 Oct 2011 05:25

Ive figured out the story so here it goes,

Once apon a time in the magical land of spinning ninjas and skeleton monster trucks was Lord Garmadon. But it turned out that Lord Garmadon was actually Lady Garmadon. Then Lady Garmadon had a baby and left in in the dojo for Sensei Wu to find. Then the ninjas and Wu travelled the world to try and find the baby's mother. Then in ancient egypt they found Lady Garmadon the mother who had been bitten by the snakemen giving her a disease that gave her 4 arms.

The End ;)

Posted by Cligra in United States, 27 Oct 2011 11:07

@JonnyRonny: Sheer genius.

Posted by JonnyRonny in United Kingdom, 27 Oct 2011 12:15

^ I know ;)

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 27 Oct 2011 12:50

@JonnyRonny: Good grief, you sure have imagination... :P

Posted by JonnyRonny in United Kingdom, 27 Oct 2011 13:36

yer well so do the lego designers thinking that skeletons drive monster trucks in ancient japan ;) i will definatly will be picking up a kai zx as it has to be one of the most ddetailed figures made.

Posted by Dlakii in Australia, 31 Oct 2011 09:47

This just confirms it - I /need/ that kendo armour. I really don't care about anything else in the line or its minifigs, though odds are I will end up caring should I actually get around to buying a set with the kendo armour. I know how I go with these things; I'll just want more.
