If you're in the USA or Canada you can take advantage of this special shop.LEGO.com offer for Brickset visitors:

"We have discovered a limited quantity of LEGO Star Wars™ Shadow ARF Trooper minifigures in our warehouse!  Due to the very limited quantity we would like to give the fan community the first chance to receive these as bonus gift on any LEGO Star Wars holiday purchases that meet the Free Shipping threshold of $99.

"The offer will be available Nov 7th - 21st or while supplies last.  To add the LEGO Star Wars™ Shadow ARF Trooper to your eligible order simply enter code BS11 (US) / BS12 (CA) at checkout."

This minifig fetches ridiculous sums on eBay so be sure to take advantage of this by placing an order today. Unfortunately there hasn't been a similar discovery in the European warehouse :-(

Sweet! But, I'm not sure what to buy. I also need to spend over $100 on something at the end of this month to get the other holiday set...

I have to complain a bit generally on the shop.lego.com. There is a lot of special offers/sets - last time there were a 2 special Christmas sets (e.g. set 3300002). But why is it usually US and Canada only?! This is not fair for the worldwide Lego fans community. In Europe, where is most of the lego made anyway, we have very limited (if any) chance to get this cool stuff. :-(

I don't think I'll be able to order! Don't have anything to.

Posted by Andhe in United Kingdom, 07 Nov 2011 08:11

Someone needs to tidy up their warehouse... who knows what else is hidden in there.

Posted by augen in United Kingdom, 07 Nov 2011 08:23

Agreed, shame this offer is not available in the UK.

^^Ha Ha.

Not cool.

Back when they had the special offer, they "ran out" and I never got mine, along with an apology.

Now they "find" more and they don't honor old engagements? Quite shady.

Posted by flump in United Kingdom, 07 Nov 2011 10:15

^ Mine didn't have the black helmet when it arrived - still sealed, but incomplete. I didn't get a replacement either - ran out!!! :o(

I'm sure TLG will be reading this thread. TLG, if you fancy PM-ing me, I can provide proof of purchase and email correspondence to validate my claim?

^^ I have to agree with the "Not Cool" sentiment.

I also have to say that I am not surprised. It is a marketing gimmic and if Lego knows one thing, it is how to appeal to those of us that collect and sell on BL...

Btw, it doesn't have to be a star wars purchase to qualify like the article says...I just bought the toy shop and a few other non-star wars things and it worked just fine.

Damn...what a time to have no money...or no sets to get that I like.:(

Posted by Nightshroud99 in Canada, 07 Nov 2011 12:57

Well I think it's really cheap to not compensate the previous buyers who never received this figure.
Because of this, I will NOT be buying anything in order to get the mini-figure.

I got mine with their last may 4th thing, and due to availability my order took 3 shipments and the ARF Trooper was the last shipment... Talk about suspense. I was glad to at least get one, and a complete one at that.
And hey, you people in Europe get some pretty cool stuff long before we do. Back in 2008 I had planned to get the TX130 republic fighter tank and the homing spider droid as soon as they came out; but it turned out the fighter tank was not available in the U.S. until 2 months later (when I wouldn't be able to get it) so I had to settle for the AT-TE (a better choice anyway, I made a MOC fighter tank instead). Same thing (almost) happened with Mace Windu's starfighter. So it's not like ALL the good stuff happens to us, for sure.

You know - TLG just might be "Finding limited quantities of SW ARF Troopers" on purpose. The way I hear things from people - TLG just might be doing this to generate more income, and knew about these ARFs all along. Of course, it may be that that they're telling the truth, but just something to keep in mind....

I’m beginning to dislike the 'corporate' style Lego Group - I liked it more when it had the 'family ran' feel to it, but I suppose that's business now days. I can't help but feel this is a lie to help boost sales though.

Posted by yys4u in United States, 07 Nov 2011 17:29

I agree with @Nightshroud99's first post, I'm already saving to get the other holiday set, and with bricktober barely finished I'm already really low on money.

Wow, I can't believe the prices these guys are fetching on eBay. I mean, it's an exclusive fig, but it's not a chrome Vader we're talking about. Without meaning to disrespect those who like this fig, I have to say that I don't understand the big hype for it. Anyways, saves me a few bucks I guess. :)

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 07 Nov 2011 20:27

Thank you! Would this work with the second half of the Christmas exclusive?

Posted by thequinnfather in New Zealand, 07 Nov 2011 20:53

I also received a "sorry we're out" letter with my May the fourth purchase and wasn't too concerned at the time - free shipping to New Zealand is better than nothing afterall. But now they've "found" some and using them as sales incentive again... Not cool TLG, not cool.

I think the ARF find is legit. I got a few of the Black ARF's from my Lego store when they got a "sudden" package late in August and were giving them away with orders of $35 when they ran out of the ADU jetback guys. I love easter eggs! Thanks for the latest promo code!

Posted by Margot in United States, 08 Nov 2011 10:59

Thank you for this promo code! Just ordered mine.

Next thing you know they're going to find some more gold '3PO's......

Posted by Thomson & Thompson in Canada, 08 Nov 2011 21:19

^Exactly. Then, I'll order.
