Which I think means if a set costs €10 you get card rewards worth €5 in return that you can then spend on more LEGO. Sounds like a good deal to me!

As promising it might look, these weekends are particulary awful, as you have to be there at opening time or all the vultures will buy everything on sight, that's how portuguese families buy their gifts, pillaging supermarkets. I once encountered a person with over 20 different boxes of lego and I said: "Wow, you really like Lego". She responded: "Hell no, I'm just taking it because it's half price". Nuff said.

^ Didn't you see the comments regarding the frenzy at the Sainsburys 50% toy sale last month? :) People are the same the world over... we all love a bargain, but sales can bring out the worst in people!

This is in monetary terms the best promo for LEGO here in Portugal. I say "monetary" because there is not much variety. And it got quite worse this year with lots of LEGO space beeing sacrificed for MegaBloks and worse - chinese clone brands!!

Just to make an idea , i used to spend around 600€ in this promo (20-22 boxes) and this year I only spent 250 (total of 9 boxes, most small ones, expections beeing the Police HQ and the NinjaGO Fire Temple).

Kinda made me sad that for example they cut on Star Wars. Waited the whole year to grab some BattlePacks and such and nothing.

As LegoFrancis said it can get quite rough, specially on the bigger cities. Luckily I'm living in a mid-sized city and right next door to the main Continente retailer of the city. Me and my very dedicate mom usually prepare the thing for an whole week, and she is always the 1st in the line, grabbing all my needs ;)

The procedure described in the news post is accurate: at purchase time, you pay the full price for the set, and get a discount in the value of 50% of the set's price. You can later use that to buy more LEGO or anything else sold in the hypermarket.

That promotion runned here in spain about a month ago (only that 50% was applied from 50€ spent). I have to agree with PokasNuckie, too few lego and too much megablock and chinese brand. Luckily i could grab a millenium falcon half price (there was fire temple, police and fireman hq, naboo starfighter and pod racer)
