Collectable Minifigs series 6 - box distribution

  • Collectable Minifigs series 6 - box distribution

Posted by Huw, 17 Dec 2011 05:34. Filed under New sets.

I picked up a box from WHS in Fareham today. My box distribution was as follows:

    5 x minotaurs, Celtic warriors, bandits (15)
4 x skaters, leprechauns, flamenco girls, space babes, aliens, mechanics (24)
3 x liberty statues, robots, genies, surgeons, Romans, sleepy boys, butchers (21)

    (Total 60)

This is slightly different to that posted by vickicara in the other thread (4 butchers, 3 mechanics), so it would be useful if someone else can check their box.

Update: I've added them to the Collectable Minifig gallery already so you see them in all their glory. I've just added Series 5 as well now.

Does the leprechaun come with his pot of gold?

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 17 Dec 2011 07:05

Yes he does, 3 gold 1x1 round plates inside.

Posted by MusicJam19 in United Kingdom, 17 Dec 2011 07:26

cool!
does whs mean wh smith?

Posted by Be-Burger in Israel, 17 Dec 2011 07:30

I hope that they will be released in the US soon.

Posted by Zordboy in Australia, 17 Dec 2011 08:21

^ See, I keep calling him the Doctor. The teddy-bear throws you, but otherwise, that's totally David Tennant in lego-form.

Posted by grr1231 in United States, 17 Dec 2011 08:38

how much are the cases.

Posted by bioniclemaster23 in United States, 17 Dec 2011 08:51

60

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 17 Dec 2011 08:57

Yes, 60 in a box, So £120 or US$180 if they are $2.99 ea.

Posted by richardh in United Kingdom, 17 Dec 2011 09:17

I purchased a box today and the figure distribution is exactly the same as yours.

Posted by MFROG5 in United States, 17 Dec 2011 09:23

Where's the zookeeper in the collectible minfigure gallery?

Posted by simplyoooo in United Kingdom, 17 Dec 2011 09:35

My box tally agrees with Huws in the distribution. Was complete with seals so I know was untampered with

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 17 Dec 2011 09:39

We got the same mix in the box I picked up from TRU Oxford last night.

@MusicJam18 - yes 'whs' is short for 'W.H.Smiths'

@MFROG5 - the zoo keeper is from series 5. Huw said he'll add the pics for those figs over the weekend.

Posted by spency13 in United States, 17 Dec 2011 09:53

Ooo I can't wait to get my hands on these figs!!!

Posted by MFROG5 in United States, 17 Dec 2011 09:55

Oh, my bad. Just saw the comment. Thanks bluemoose.

Posted by spency13 in United States, 17 Dec 2011 09:56

Huw, don't you think that the Minotaur should be in the Fantasy section..... Other than that, great pics!

Posted by Be-Burger in Israel, 17 Dec 2011 10:18

Huw, don't you think that the minotaur should be in "Fantasy", not "Historical"? I don't think that the minotaur is real :D

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 17 Dec 2011 10:27

@dixondog - Lady Liberty's headdress is made from a hard rubber-like material; there's a little bit of flex in the 'spines', and it's very slightly squishy all over. Sleepyhead's hair is regular hard ABS plastic. Same for his teddy.

Agree that the Minotaur should be in 'Fantasy', or maybe even 'Horror'.

Posted by shaase in Canada, 17 Dec 2011 10:34

Huw, thanks for getting the pics of Series 6 up so quickly!! What about Series 5?

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 17 Dec 2011 10:42

Huw already said at the top "I'll get Series 5 added over the weekend (at last)"

Posted by vickicara in United Kingdom, 17 Dec 2011 10:42

sry huw
you are quite correct

i did have 3 butchers and 4 mechanics.

must of miscounted in the excitement :)

Posted by Si_Dorking_Surrey in New Zealand, 17 Dec 2011 10:44

Just looked at the minifig gallery - never seen that before, nice work!
Love how the Minotaur is in 'historical' and not 'fantasy' :)

Posted by Be-Burger in Israel, 17 Dec 2011 10:53

@bluemoose - Horror? Whats scary about a minotaur (besides that they are angry and want to eat you)?

Posted by minifig051 in United States, 17 Dec 2011 11:16

I hope these come out in the US soon.

Is the Clockwork Robot's key removable?

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 17 Dec 2011 11:29

^ yes, the key is a separate piece that attaches to a standard neck bracket.

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 17 Dec 2011 11:41

I'll have S5 added later this evening and I'll move the Minotaur to the correct category then as well.

Posted by LukeSkywalker in Ireland, 17 Dec 2011 13:25

@Huw may I ask if the sleepy head kid's hair is solid plastic or rubbery? It looks solid from the photo (I hope it is anyway, I'm not a fan of rubber material in LEGO).
Edit: Nevermind, I just saw bluemoose's comment above, didn't see it in the first scan. ;)
P.s. I had just finished editing when you re-posted the answer. ;)

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 17 Dec 2011 13:28

That's already been answered above ... "Sleepyhead's hair is regular hard ABS plastic. Same for his teddy."

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 17 Dec 2011 13:35

Love this entire Series, apart from the Skater Girl, the Flamenco Dancer, the Intergalactic Girl and the Bandit they are all fantastic. Of course the Roman would only have 3 per box!

Posted by Skywalker1966 in United States, 17 Dec 2011 13:53

Huw, if you see this please answer. Are the Minifigs S6 made of a higher quality plastic than previously? They just look better and they are missing one of the tell-tale (for me, at least) signs of cheapness. There is usually an irregularity in the piece that the legs are connected to with Chinese plastic, and these seem not to have that...

Posted by revilo44 in United Kingdom, 17 Dec 2011 14:12

my Favorites are minotaurs, Celtic warriors, bandits space woman and always my favs are hard to get and will end up getting one i do not want

Posted by xccj in United States, 17 Dec 2011 14:13

So it looks like it'll be easier to build an army of Celtic warriors, but harder to get the Romans. Oh well.
Thanks for the info on distribution. Hope to see them on store shelves soon. :)

Posted by legoplasticman1111 in United Kingdom, 17 Dec 2011 14:31

I just got the Robot today :D

Posted by Thomson & Thompson in Canada, 17 Dec 2011 15:12

Can't wait for them.

Posted by yys4u in United States, 17 Dec 2011 15:41

Very happy to see the distribution of Minos, Bandits, and Celtics. I plan on army building the celt and mino so its great that they are 5 to a box, and the bandit I don't mind extras too, glad they didn't make something like the statue of liberty 5 to a box.

Figures Roman would be 3 to a box tho. Oh well.

Posted by LukeSkywalker in Ireland, 17 Dec 2011 15:55

I notice you've got series 5 in the gallery now, the photos look great, thanks for updating Huw. :) Can't wait to get my hands on the latest batch of figures - this brings the current total up to 96 collectible minifigs, released in just over a year and a half!

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 17 Dec 2011 17:45

Great pictures Huw, the gallery is really developing into a great resource for us all. Also, over the next couple of days I will be reviewing the entire series 6, so have a look if you like!

Posted by Hello_World! in United States, 17 Dec 2011 19:30

I've still got to get 12 of Series 5!! Hope to get them and these soon (that is when they come to the US).

Posted by Elli in Australia, 17 Dec 2011 20:18

Huw,
Could you please tell me what you think of the Quality of the Robot and the Teddy Bear please if that's okay. They look to be actually really good Quality, but I would like to know from your opinion, Thank You :)

Posted by voypro in United States, 17 Dec 2011 21:08

I know everyone likes to say "This is the best series yet".... but for me series 6 is my favorite.

Posted by jamesster in United States, 17 Dec 2011 21:19

As long as I can get my hands on a robot, spacewoman, and alien, I'll be a happy nerd.

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 18 Dec 2011 03:50

@Elli, I'll just say that the parts in this series are the same quality as in all previous series. Read into that what you will.

Posted by minifignick in United Kingdom, 18 Dec 2011 08:00

Posted by Matt mason in United Kingdom, 18 Dec 2011 15:04

I got 12 different ones today in bury Manchester woohoo. Jacob you want to collect them I have all the series and think they are amazing. You can get some bargains on eBay if you look. I have Charcon creations saved as a fav seller and they are fair with their prices. I always buy the last few online to save buying doubles. Go on jump in and start collecting.

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 18 Dec 2011 16:25

@Jacob Wilson - That is how Lego make their money on Collectable Minifigures, they know that people are likely to get duplicates and the price is just perfect for a pocket money toy.

Posted by keithkram in United Kingdom, 18 Dec 2011 18:07

@jacob Wilson, how can you think 1.99 for a minifig with accessories is a rip off?

Posted by suckerpunch83 in Canada, 18 Dec 2011 18:25

Is there a Series 6 Google map?

Posted by swchk1993 in United Kingdom, 19 Dec 2011 10:17

just went to whsmith in manchester arndale.....was there for about an hour....got everything i wanted like roman soldiers x8 and aliens x4....a complete set of 16....and others!!!

Posted by Dashofdashing in United Kingdom, 19 Dec 2011 14:45

They had completely sold out in Tamworth branch of WH Smiths :o. What codes are they using to identify figures in packets this time, hopefully not the bumps?

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 20 Dec 2011 04:25

Just bought four Minifigs, had no opportunity to feel the bags or anything and got four Romans. Either they were mixed up with figures from other boxes or those per box odds are not guaranteed. Either way I'm very lucky!

Posted by avacadoturban in United Kingdom, 21 Dec 2011 07:07

TRU Plymouth have 4 boxes worth of S6 CMF. Grabbed 5 randoms was in a rush to get some Christmas shopping before work) and ended up with: 1 Centurion, 1 Genie, 2 Bandits, and 1 Minotaur!

They seem to be very popular - lots of mums, dads, and grandparents getting them.

Posted by The solitary dark in United Kingdom, 22 Dec 2011 13:16

Every Tesco in the Heathrow area had display stands out today (That werent there yesterday) - My wife picked me up five (Surgeon, Genie, Minotaur, Celt + Roman) and I picked up 2 more (Intergalactic Girl + Another roman)
Each store had 6+ boxes and I had 6+ Roman's at one point, but left them for everyone else.
