Advent day 17

Day 17Day 17Well, the police 'car' is finished, but it's pathetic. It's look like something a 5-year-old has thrown together. Very disappointing.

In the Star Wars calendar we have what BrickLink calls a Weapons Depot. It's not particularly exciting on its own but I suppose it does add some play value when combined with the minifigs we've had. Let's hope things improve tomorrow!

Wow. That's a police car? Interesting.

Worst day so far in my opinion.

^^ Agreed.

While the "buggy" isn't the best, how can you be disappointed when we knew it was coming as it has been on the images released by LEGO and it shows you it on the back of the box. With that being said, I am not a fan of the builds spread over a few days.

Well, it wasn't a surprise, the car was pictured on the box. I think my three year old cousin liked her's, though. Personally I'm looking forward to having the criminal with the crowbar, I really want one of those!

the weapon carrier holds a certain minifigure's lightsaber that we don't have from the star wars advent callender

It's like the little cars they used to release back in the 80s/early 90s. Would it have killed them to have doors? Or a proper windscreen shield? Or even one of those little bars at the back?

I stopped buying Town Advent Calendars years ago, 'cause if you've bought one, you've bought them all. I admire their attempt to be different here, but I'm still glad I avoided this one. You have a police station that's a two walls and no roof, and half a police car.

I thought it looked a tad like a go-cart.

I thought from the images of the first part of the build it was a sports car looking police car. With hood, roof and a little bit sleek in style.
I like the Weapons Rack. Now we got some arms for some characters and we all know who's gettin' the saber.

"Like something a five year old has thrown together'? Don't forget: Lego is a toy for children.
AFOLs like us are just continuing to enjoy it many years later.

Three days of surprises for nothing in the City one. The star wars one on most days though has been very good.

I think some people forget the actual audience its aimed at times!

^ That doesn't mean Lego should try and cheat little kids because they won't care. Really all the car needs is a roof, as of now it's just a chunky wanna-be police wagon go-kart scooter mobile. It's not just the collector who will be disappointed, just think of the police officer! He actually has to DRIVE that thing :P And the windshield as far as I know won't deflect FTPR's (Flying Toilet Paper Rolls :P The SW one will add some needed playability to it :)
Just one note, the City set has been extremely disappointing so far, it's already Dec. 18th and all we have is TP throwing criminal with a catapult that flings things, a cop, a sad excuse of a Police Station and axe murderer fisherman. The only Christmas (Or snow even!) related set is the tiny tree and presents. Oh wait, that's right, we also got ANOTHER cop and a chunky wanna-be police wagon go-kart scooter mobile. Even if it does have playability, there doesn't seem to have anything special.
You basically see everything you get on the cover of the box. If at least the Police Station was a small Toy shop, to a small house (Maybe to fit stuff from last year?) But at least the SW one is good.

@Lunchie, if I was 7 I would expect better!

Anyways, I guess we just have to forgive and forget this day. And several other days.

Oh, and ONE WEEK WARNING UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!! :O
