LEGO has done a good job of keeping these under wraps, until now...

Brickipedia has just posted images of the three large action figures, The Hulk, Iron Man and Captain America. I've added them to the database and you can see them here.

Iron Man is easily the coolest of these. I wonder what the combiner models will look like..

Posted by kaboomlegoman in United States, 29 Jan 2012 18:02

All of them look (A LOT) less strange than the last ultrabuilds, but IMHO they all are weird. Iron Man looks the least strange, though. I still want more Spider-Man sets though! :( He's my fav super hero.

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 29 Jan 2012 18:36

Iron Man actually looks excellent!

Posted by legomaniac in United States, 29 Jan 2012 18:45

Captain Americas shield would be useful on a MOC :)

Posted by 18000pieces in United States, 29 Jan 2012 19:00

Of all six of these models, Iron Man is the only one that actually makes any sense in the style.

Posted by Firox 5000 in United Kingdom, 29 Jan 2012 19:11

Iron man looks awesome, captain america is ok but not so keen on the Hulk.

Posted by pantenkind in United States, 29 Jan 2012 19:48

I am not a fan of any of them. They added all the horns and weird stuff...Looks almost like they are some weird anime mashup.

Posted by Odeinoichus in Canada, 29 Jan 2012 20:24

These aren't for me as I prefer the Mini-Fig sets, but that being said they are managing to achieve what they set out to do with these sets.

Posted by cjg in United States, 29 Jan 2012 20:35

Iron Man looks the best, of course. He is the only one of the three that actually looks "robotic".

Posted by legoDad42 in United States, 29 Jan 2012 21:32

I concur with legomaniac....Cap's shield is excellent and would be great to incorporate in a Moc.
Iron Man looks like some good color and parts there. Hulk should've been built bigger, beefier...HULKISH!

Posted by vwong19 in United States, 30 Jan 2012 00:51

These are weird, but since my son likes Bionicles I will get all of these. They are more interesting as a complete collection.

This news means we are a little closer to seeing the Marvel sets... 2 more months...

Posted by Andhe in United Kingdom, 30 Jan 2012 01:12

Under wraps? I'm pretty sure we saw these the same time as the dc action figs back at comic con! Correct me if I'm wrong.

Edit: yep, you linked to pictures of these back in July with the Marvel announcement, and linked to picture of these under update 4...

Won't buy any of them....not Lego in my eyes....

Posted by xcrossx in United Kingdom, 30 Jan 2012 04:08

ABSOLUTE RUBBISH!!!!
Agree with Supersympa, I wouldn't class them as Lego. Which I know is silly as Lego is the brand and not the technical name of regular sets. Are they still known as System?
Have always hated the look of Bionacles, Hero Factory and now these Super Hero ones, they just look like cheap plasticy action figures!

Posted by goldfish in United Kingdom, 30 Jan 2012 05:22

I don't really see these as Lego as such, hence I don't have any interest in them.

Posted by Joefish in United Kingdom, 30 Jan 2012 05:36

More Diabonicle rubbish. They look nothing like the characters they're supposed to be.
It's telling that in the LEGO shops, the minifig superhero sets sell out the second they reach the shelves, and these are left to fill the space as they just sit there unsold.

Posted by ditonthouikwel in Belgium, 30 Jan 2012 06:38

Ever since i got some Hero factory 2.0 sets, I've been dissapointed with the direction of the bionicle style sets. Where before they were mainly ball&joint and technic connectors, they have now switched mostly to ball&joint and some noncompatible 2 small pinholes style connector which makes most of the set useless to use in any other imaginative building way. They should just put some random studs on the parts, use technic axle connectors instead of the 2 pinholes, and then these would be much more interesting.

traditionally I would be yawning at these, but my 4 year old built the Batman and got a great deal of satisfaction in building it on his own, so I will pick at least the Captain America for him, maybe the hulk too.

Posted by princedraven in United Kingdom, 30 Jan 2012 07:14

^^^ Joefish, I have spoken to a number of stores and it appears these are actually very big sellers. The reason they are filling the space is that they have had delivered a lot more of these than the 'brick' superheroes sets.
Can't say they interest me in the slightest BTW. However would say my 4 year old would love them.

Posted by Bobszaar in United States, 30 Jan 2012 08:35

I can't believe that I'm going to say this, but...

The Iron Man figure is reasonably well-made. It doesn't mean that I'm going to buy it, but this will go in my consideration list for sure.

Captain America and Hulk just look horrible to me, as do all of the DC UltraBuilds.

Posted by vamproe in United States, 30 Jan 2012 09:26

the joker and iron man are the only 2 worth buying in my opinion

Posted by vwong19 in United States, 30 Jan 2012 10:01

I wonder if Lego will make a Sentinel or Ultron in this style?

Posted by ngclarkiv in United States, 30 Jan 2012 10:03

For the age group that these are for, they're perfect. Kids are going to love em.

Posted by Delatron in United Kingdom, 30 Jan 2012 11:46

Bought the joker fig mainly for the head, and will likely do the same for cap's shield. The hulk looks rubbish - green across the shoulders instead of grey would have improved him no end.

I know how whiny both Lego and comic fans can be (being both myself) when people take liberties with titles they like, so I didn't expect praise for these. Perhaps the minifig sets will be superior - i certainly hope so.

Posted by Be-Burger in Israel, 30 Jan 2012 12:28

I also hope that the minifig sets will be superior...

Posted by wunztwice in United States, 30 Jan 2012 14:59

Cap's shield will have to be purchased on BL for me, as well as that clear piece on Iron Man's gun. Other than that, these are a total pass for me.

Posted by Nightshroud99 in Canada, 30 Jan 2012 16:35

I'll just be getting Iron Man.

Posted by LukeSkywalker in Ireland, 30 Jan 2012 16:53

@Huw I actually shared a picture of these on the forum over a week ago, they feature in the LEGO catalogue that's available in shops for customers (including a sneak preview of hulk ironman and wolverine minifigures) so they haven't been under wraps since that catalogue was released, back in early January.

Posted by LinkBrick in United States, 30 Jan 2012 17:22

they shud of made a spider man one

Posted by legoninja0701 in United States, 30 Jan 2012 18:22

hulk looks AWSOME!!!!!!! he looks like stormer XL only better!

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 30 Jan 2012 18:27

All of them are great for pieces customize your Hero Factory or make your own. So for that reason, I hope to get some. But otherwise, I think the only good ones IMO are Ironman, Batman and Green Lantern. The Joker has too many colors going on, Hulk looks just weird and bizarre. He should be more of a Titan set, and his body should be all green. Captain America looks nothing like in the movie, so I guess that style is from the comic books. He has weird wing/shoulder pads, and I was hoping his shield was more like the Skrall shield. But despite some minor differences from their original figure, they have very good pieces and variations of colors. Ironman is the best of the bunch IMO.
Energynarrow: I highly doubt that HF will be replaced by this. Think of it more like the Ben 10 (Ugh)

Posted by Gandalf1 in United States, 30 Jan 2012 21:22

Hmm, I guess they are better than the DC ones, but I never am a big fan of these 'Bionicle style' figures.

Posted by The Reviewer in United States, 31 Jan 2012 12:55

I hate these (except the Iron man looks pretty decent) but when will Lego learn that these sets never sell. at my Local Wal-mart and TRU they have tons of these and the regular sets are always gone. So lego learn form Ben10 and Galidor, they were failures then and they still are today.

How interesting that they were in a LEGO Catalogue (German) in the first week if January!
