Darth Maul PromoIt seems that visitors to the LEGO stand were given a couple of freebies, including this fantastic Darth Maul. Let's hope he appears in a set sometime soon!

Update: The guys at FBTB have done a great job photographing every little detail of every summer set and are uploading them to flickr. At last the photos we've been waiting for --  Thanks Ace!

Somewhere, Andy and Dave are cursing. ;o)

They also had a pic of a promotional giveaway which included Iron Man and Cap. The Iron Man figure did not have the monstrous helmet. Maybe the helmet is gonzo?

Posted by Legolover9531 in United States, 12 Feb 2012 17:30

The Iron Man and Captain America minifigs are selling for $200 on eBay :O

Posted by Dlakii in Australia, 12 Feb 2012 17:34

There is only one correct reaction here:

Ooooh, Mr. Maul, ooooooooooooooh~ *swoon*

Wanna, wanna, wanna...

Posted by yys4u in United States, 12 Feb 2012 18:10

@legolover9531 can you send me a link? I don't plan on buying it I just wanna see what they're giving away... I searched but nothing came up, maybe that means people are actually buying it??

Posted by Pepper in United States, 12 Feb 2012 18:18

*Jaw drops* Boy do I wish I had gone to NY toy fair...

Posted by jonbuddy in United States, 12 Feb 2012 18:23

Is he shirtless? o.O

Posted by madplanet in United Kingdom, 12 Feb 2012 18:30

Ah man that sucks, I hate it when they do these special limited promos.

Posted by Legolover9531 in United States, 12 Feb 2012 18:31

@yys4u Here's the origianal one, but it's sold out O_o http://www.ebay.com/itm/290669946956?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619 There's also a bid that lasts 6 days, and currently highest bid is 99 cents. Feel free to bid if you want, because I'm gonna ask my mom to bid on that! http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEGO-MARVEL-SUPER-HEROES-TOY-FAIR-2012-COLLECTORS-PREVIEW-EXCLUSIVE-/170782534879?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27c36eacdf

Posted by Jonn Milenko in United States, 12 Feb 2012 18:45

@BRICKBOY74
"p.s is 30053 exculisve because i saw it at target?"

they are all over my target, in fact a few of the UK "exclusives" ive found at my local walmarts or target.

Posted by Scarecrow in United States, 12 Feb 2012 19:38

I'm hoping that they give these out at Comic Con.

Because I want them so badly and I don't work in the toy industry.

Posted by legomaniac in United States, 12 Feb 2012 19:59

I want that chest and arms! lol

Posted by sarlacc98 in United Kingdom, 12 Feb 2012 20:19

When was he ever shirtless in the movies??

Posted by Nightshroud99 in Canada, 12 Feb 2012 20:34

@Legolover9531

Good luck bidding because that 6 day listing is already over $100........ o_O

Posted by yys4u in United States, 12 Feb 2012 20:50

^ Yea I just checked... wow... Interesting that its a different Iron Man though... which one will we actually see in the sets?

Posted by ngclarkiv in United States, 12 Feb 2012 21:09

I freakin want this.

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 12 Feb 2012 21:13

Jonbuddy @ Legolover9531: Yeah, I believe that is either Darth Maul in 'training' outfit, or the Darth Maul 'aftermath' outfit. I'm assuming that since the Clone Wars is more focused on him, that this is the aftermath version (He apparently survived the 50 foot fall and his legs being sliced off...) But isn't he supposed to have robot legs?

Posted by contraption-3000 in United States, 12 Feb 2012 21:51

My colleague is at NY Toy Fair and nothing like this was given to her at her scheduled appointment. WTH!!!

Posted by Zackula in United States, 12 Feb 2012 21:59

@sarlacc98 I don't think he was ever shirtless in the movies. It is probably just a reference to him being a hot actor, and certain people would want to see him shirtless.

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 12 Feb 2012 22:24

It might be him in training in Episode 2.

Posted by ngclarkiv in United States, 12 Feb 2012 22:25

It's Darth Maul after Episode I. They have Star Wars graphic novels and Maul does survive the fall. He looks just like this minifig, shirtless but has robotic legs.

Posted by sarlacc98 in United Kingdom, 12 Feb 2012 22:25

@Zackula oh ok I guess that makes sense. Just a little though. XD

Posted by Legolover9531 in United States, 12 Feb 2012 22:44

@Nightshroud99 Now $122.50, but the last bid was almost 3 hours ago.

Posted by swlego@hf in United States, 12 Feb 2012 22:54

MAN! this is set. an awesome figure! Hope they sell it in a set. @sarlacc98 and @zackula clearly it's for his upcoming return from the dead in The Clone Wars tv series.

Posted by blazetrooper501 in United States, 12 Feb 2012 23:21

I would really like to have this and im an episode 1 fan

Posted by Nightshroud99 in Canada, 12 Feb 2012 23:36

I wonder what that listing will be up to in 6 days!

Posted by atkinsar in United Kingdom, 13 Feb 2012 04:11

I have a feeling that we'll see that Darth Maul polybag in some other promotions this year.

Posted by supersympa in Sweden, 13 Feb 2012 04:41

@atkinsar hope is a good choice in thar particular case :)

Posted by TheCahleySlash in United Kingdom, 13 Feb 2012 05:17

Who would want to spend over $200 on 2 figures?
Which will only be available in a couple of months time and less expensive, the madness in peoples passion for having a complete set!

Posted by brixton in Canada, 13 Feb 2012 07:20

Amazing! I wish I got that freebie.

Posted by lovaquero in United States, 13 Feb 2012 09:57

^^ Agreed. The insanity of completists... ;-)

//slowly sticks his chrome gold C3PO in his pocket so no one notices...

Posted by bradbean in United Kingdom, 13 Feb 2012 12:40

hey, how much will this be going on ebay for?????
UK price?

Posted by vwong19 in United States, 13 Feb 2012 13:22

^ It doesn't count unless someone actually pays for it.

Posted by The Reviewer in United States, 13 Feb 2012 16:49

Ah man I hate it when they do this. They make a awesome minifigure and the sellers on ebay/amazon think they have the right to charge crazy prices, so it ends up impossible to get. Hopefully TRU will give these out of something. (or if they give it out in a store in the UK and then the price goes down on amazon/ebay) I think its supossed to be Darth maul with his shirt off.

Posted by bodybomb3 in United Kingdom, 14 Feb 2012 08:41

The minifgs just can't get any better!

Posted by voypro in United States, 14 Feb 2012 09:15

Folks, calm down. This Darth Maul poly bag reeks of something soon to be released in a "get a free Darth Maul figure with your $50 lego purchase" If your buying this for $200 on ebay... you're a chump! Plan and simple. You could pick up a gold c-3po and chrome Vader for that.

This thing is likely to be release in some quantity very soon that will, at a minimum, put its ebay price at <$30

The sleepy head promotion baggie with the two Marvel mini figs which are number to 125... that is a different story.

Posted by Outer Rim Emperor in United States, 14 Feb 2012 10:28

Oh man what I would give for one of these being such a huge Darth Maul fan! I hope he'll be released in a set at some point!

Posted by Jonn Milenko in United States, 14 Feb 2012 12:39

ok for all the non-star wars fans that collect star wars legos.....yes he is Shirtless, underneath all the nice crispy black sith robes he sports he is tattooed fully from toe to head, in red and black tribal designs. he appeared in the comics, in a training scene in a prequal ep 1 story, and a story after Ep1, where he tracks Obi Wan to tatooine, and he fights with Owen Lars...in this instance his horns are much larger and he has double joined robot legs, and a new saber.....
he never appeared in the movie shirtless, so its obviously Expanded Universe...

Posted by atkinsar in United Kingdom, 15 Feb 2012 02:07

@voypro, I totally agree with you, the telling sign is the way Darth Maul is packaged as a proper polybag. The ironman and cap America are the true exclusives here.
