Is this 4207 'Car Park/Garage' ?

Yummy.

Posted by dafish in Germany, 17 Feb 2012 04:15

The building was in the AFOL area so if it is a sneak preview LEGO did a good job in sneaking it in. The Octan icon though would argue against it. The car on the elevator bottom center was on display elsewhere which would point towards it being 4207. Given the abundance of parts it would certainly be in the 120 Euro range.

Posted by M4444M44 in United States, 17 Feb 2012 04:19

The new hospital set was also snuck into the display.

Posted by Zrath in United States, 17 Feb 2012 04:24

Is that a small Volkswagen Minibus sitting on the lift? Nice! :D

Posted by ChicoCheco in Norway, 17 Feb 2012 04:44

Oh! That looks very nice. I always wanted to have 6394. Now is the chance to have something similar again. I like it a lot, especially the booth for the garagekeeper. I case it is a MOC and not an upcoming set - it should be added to Cuusoo :-P

Posted by warrenelsmore in United Kingdom, 17 Feb 2012 05:25

@dafish - It's not in the AFOL area, the garage was in the same City display that last year had the red cargo train, and the previous year the PF trains. I didn't see the hospital though, I need to go and have a look at that :)

Posted by dafish in Germany, 17 Feb 2012 05:36

thanks for refreshing my memory, you are right. I didn't see the hospital either. Lucky you to go back, I'm away over the weekend...:-)

Posted by BJMdotLEGO in United Kingdom, 17 Feb 2012 05:43

That's a really tall garage for a bunch of really small cars. Curious what the baseplate for this one would be.

Posted by Targellian in United Kingdom, 17 Feb 2012 06:08

Just looking at that pic... I'm guessing the framework of the building is similar to the technique used for the gantry tower in 3368 Space Centre, and the baseplate is a pair of regular 16x16 waffles plus a 16x7-stud/8-flat/1-stud (is there an easier way to describe that?) of the type used in 4645 Harbour.

Looks nice, too.

Posted by brixton in Canada, 17 Feb 2012 07:51

This is a really nice looking parking garage. I think I'll pass though if it's an actual set due to a lack of space for more LEGO. Also, it looks quite large to be an actual set. That makes me think it's a MOC. On the other hand, the Octan signs makes me think it's going to be an actual set.

Posted by rosco_pc in Italy, 17 Feb 2012 08:04

The columns are the same huge part used for the 8639 Big Bentley Bust Out, but in white.
So it cannot be a MOC ;-)

Posted by Graysmith in Sweden, 17 Feb 2012 08:10

Pretty nice but without a gas station (like 6394 had) it feels a bit barren and boring on its own.

Posted by Mr. Timms in United States, 17 Feb 2012 08:16

Providing that it is indeed legitimate, I wonder what the price point for that might be... and REALLY curious to see if anyone got pics of the Hospital!!??

Posted by legobigbloke in United Kingdom, 17 Feb 2012 08:32

^^ Guess it depends on how many vehicles come with it - It has less parts in the building than 8639 Big Bentley sets by the look of it, just lots of big plates and a few beams, so I would expect a price similar to the fire station or police station sets. (Please Mr Lego!)

Posted by brixton in Canada, 17 Feb 2012 08:40

Graysmith makes a really good point. I didn't realize that 4207 lacks a gas station while 6394 has one. That's why I'm not too interested in 4207. The big selling point for me with 6394 was the gas station.

Posted by dhaas06 in United States, 17 Feb 2012 08:45

I believe this is the same way they first showed last year's red cargo train, and the conversation was the same about whether it was a MOC or a set. We all know how that turned out... ;)

Posted by natro220 in United States, 17 Feb 2012 09:11

Are we certain there's no gas station there? It's hard to tell what's on the back side...and it has the car wash like 6394. Why would it have Octan signs, but no gas station...that makes no sense.

Posted by brixton in Canada, 17 Feb 2012 09:25

@natro220: You can kind of see to the back of the model and it doesn't look like there's a gas station back there. I totally missed the car wash even though it's right in front. This may not even be a final model. They may make changes and add a gas station or as you say it may be at the back somewhere (but I don't see it).

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 17 Feb 2012 09:40

An anonymous source has confirmed this is indeed 4207: "I just called my friend working in LEGO and confirmed the set in the pic you posted is indeed the 4207 multi-storey garage coming later this year. He says it comes with a car wash area, security booth, elevator mechanism and a MPV is also included."

Posted by legomaniac in United States, 17 Feb 2012 09:41

Pretty good. How about an Octan HQ building and oil field sets? They seem to own everything :P

Posted by Si_Dorking_Surrey in Singapore, 17 Feb 2012 09:42

I'll be adding glass, to make it look more like a real car showroom.
Its nice and big.
Need to add it to the database so I can 'want' it!

Posted by WolfboyTheMasterofTheSword in United States, 17 Feb 2012 09:49

dude this set is EPIC!!!

Posted by Graysmith in Sweden, 17 Feb 2012 09:54

Well that's a shame. One can only hope LEGO releases a gas station set at the same time to go with it.

Posted by natro220 in United States, 17 Feb 2012 09:56

Awesome Huw! I'm hoping it won't be TOO expensive...I plan on getting a few, and making a huge one.

Posted by natro220 in United States, 17 Feb 2012 09:57

Agreed, Graysmith...I bet that's their plan.

Posted by brixton in Canada, 17 Feb 2012 10:27

I love that LEGO is now including elevators in some of their sets. I think the mechanisms they come up with to make them function are ingenious.

Posted by vynsane in United States, 17 Feb 2012 10:40

Oh, well. Was really hoping for a Galaxy Explorer or Cosmic Fleet Voyager redux.

Posted by dandantheman in United States, 17 Feb 2012 11:00

I have the original SHELL Parking Garage/Service station complete with original instructions! But this new one also looks cool!

Posted by dandantheman in United States, 17 Feb 2012 11:03

I think lego should also remake the airport monorail set!

Posted by natro220 in United States, 17 Feb 2012 11:26

@dandantheman...they have specifically stated they won't make more monorails, which stinks. That would be an AFOL's dream to have new ones!

Posted by brixton in Canada, 17 Feb 2012 11:30

It's too bad LEGO will never make more monorails because that's what everyone wants. The Airport Monorail was one of the best LEGO sets of all-time!

Posted by legotrains in United States, 17 Feb 2012 11:31

Guys to break the suspense I believe somewhere there is a gas station if you look closly at the three yellow signs in this picture it looks like, TOP:Car Wash, Middle: Gas, Bottom: Maintinance if you dont know which signs im talking about please ask :D

here is the link to a better view of the signs: http://www.flickr.com/photos/eiker86/6890816767/sizes/l/in/photostream/

Love this set!

oh yeah this IS NOT my picture it is Eiker86's Picture

@Si_Dorking_Surrey - Reminds me of the parking garages in Japan...

Posted by natro220 in United States, 17 Feb 2012 11:37

Yes, the sign definitely states to go through to get gas, so...hmmm...that's kind of weird. Is the "02" to the left of the garage the hospital? I wonder if they'll just make it like the previous few fire stations? That means it'll at least come with 2+ vehicles, so that's good.

Posted by Mr. Timms in United States, 17 Feb 2012 11:39

"MPV is also included."

Okay, call me stupid... but what's an MPV?

Posted by Nightshroud99 in Canada, 17 Feb 2012 11:45

Looks ok, but I'd like to see more pictures.

Posted by r4-p44 in United Kingdom, 17 Feb 2012 11:49

Yeah, exactly, WHAT'S AN MPV? No, really, what is it?!

Posted by r4-p44 in United Kingdom, 17 Feb 2012 11:51

Me too - I agree, but the picture that's shown is pretty wicked, you've got to admit!

Posted by legogeek in United States, 17 Feb 2012 12:07

MPV = Multi Purpose Vehicle

Posted by legobigbloke in United Kingdom, 17 Feb 2012 12:08

@natro220 That is a fire station to the left (and slightly behind)

@Mr Timms & @Lego Brick 8 An MPV is a Multi-Purpose Vehicle, usually used to describe a people carrier or minivan (depending on your country)

Still can't see a gas pump in these pictures....

Posted by bellybutton290 in United Kingdom, 17 Feb 2012 12:20

That's a "buy" for me even more so if it includes a couple of cars. I was going to moc one odf these but TLG read my mind!

Posted by legogeek in United States, 17 Feb 2012 12:20

Look at a large version of the photo, behind the MPV on the lift. There is a car in the background and it looks like beyond it you can see what might be the top of a gas pump?

Certainly there must be other photos popping up somewhere.....

Posted by AgentWHO in United States, 17 Feb 2012 12:56

Awesome, This is why I need more money...

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 17 Feb 2012 12:56

Looks cool, probably going to cost about $99 USD. At that price I'm not going to purchase it.

Posted by brixton in Canada, 17 Feb 2012 13:17

Wow. The sign clearly indicates that there is a gas station part. The more I look at the photos the more detail I see. I never noticed the repair section before. It's basically a car wash, gas station, repair shop and parking garage all rolled into one. This set seems worth it. There's a lot going on here.

@natro220 The "02" is from this set: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=7208-1

@nhuegel yes that is a new piece, in several new sets, including some Ninjago and Forest Police sets

Posted by DaveBey in United States, 17 Feb 2012 15:02

I believe this picture shows part of the helicopter from the new 2012 hospital set: http://flic.kr/p/buVjMR

From what set is the green locomotive in this picture: http://flic.kr/p/buVeKD

If this is indeed "the" 4207, I hope more than one vehicle is included. Perhaps two cars and a motorcycle?

Posted by nhuegel in United States, 17 Feb 2012 15:02

@ncbarrett thanks for pointing that out. I hadnt noticed those bricks in the forest police set. I havent seen a whole lot of the new stuff in stores- only online or maybe I would have noticed.

I think those are great little bricks !

Posted by asherkobin in United States, 17 Feb 2012 16:52

With this Garage set, the Transit Center, the set with the yellow bus and pizza restaurant, the hospital, the bank, LEGO City has hit a high point from the days of just police and fire stations!

Posted by Graysmith in Sweden, 17 Feb 2012 17:11

I swear.. If you look at the original size of this photo:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/eiker86/6890816767/sizes/o/in/photostream/

..and you look at the orange car on the second floor of the garage, the one in the car shop.. Looking at the license plate I'm so sure it says (letters then) 4207.. I definitely see a 4 and 7. Am I crazy? Anyone else see that?

So it definitely comes with two cars, the car on the elevator and this car service car (whose orange nicely matches the tow truck from a few years back).

EDIT:

Here's real, bonafide confirmation that this is 4207. Look at this photo, and look at the license plate of the blue car entering the car wash.

JC 4207

Posted by Ethanator567 in United States, 17 Feb 2012 17:32

if u look in the background of the large photo above you can clearly see a police officer filling his car at a Gas Pump!

Posted by peterlinddk in Denmark, 17 Feb 2012 17:43

There IS a gas pump!

It is behind the garage - look at this picture http://www.flickr.com/photos/14446149@N07/6893399451/in/set-72157629361232641 - it shows the side and back of the garage, with one of the police-cars from the forrestpolice using the gas pump.

It isn't much of a gas "station", but at least there is a pump.

Oh yeah - and also, take a look at the beige car inside the garage. The license plate says "KB 4207", so I would say that the guessing is over :)

Posted by jonbuddy in United States, 17 Feb 2012 18:12

Posted by M4444M44 in United States, 17 Feb 2012 19:23

The set comes with four vehicles - the orange tow truck, the van on the elevator, the yellow car entering the ramp and the blue car entering the car wash. There is a gas station, on the back.

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 17 Feb 2012 19:29

The yellow car on the ramp looks awfully similar to the 2012 City 4435 Car and Camper.

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 17 Feb 2012 20:17

^Calm down young man. No need to type with all capitals. The mods on this website have to right to remove comments if they think it is necessary.

Posted by Graysmith in Sweden, 17 Feb 2012 20:19

Nice that it comes with a gas pump, though if I'm honest I would've much rather seen a proper gas station as a separate set instead, even if it would've meant buying two sets for quite a bit more money. That tiny gas pump pales in comparison to the station in 6394.

Plus, having a real gas station would've been a really nice companion for the 3180 Tank Truck.

Posted by WolfboyTheMasterofTheSword in United States, 17 Feb 2012 20:27

^^ Ok Ive calmed down now. Ill just repost my set ideas.

Posted by Goony in Denmark, 17 Feb 2012 22:53

I talked to one of the designers at Legoworld about the set and he said it would be one of those limited edition or special edition sets only available to some retailers. Should be released second half of 2012

Posted by NeilJam in United States, 17 Feb 2012 23:34

It looks nice, as do the vehicles. I really like the orange service vehicle and van on the elevator. However, I think maybe they could have squeezed in at least one more level. I only see 6 parking spaces, counting the space for the service vehicle. I think it will take 2 sets and/or some modification to make it look really good.

Posted by rocao in United States, 17 Feb 2012 23:35

A parking garage was sorely needed in the city lineup. This will do the job, but sadly, I was hoping for something better. I see that it's tall, but it doesn't have the same feeling of expansiveness that 6394 did. From the photo, it doesn't look like this was given the modular approach where multiple copies could be pieced together, and I think that would have really helped to give it the correct scale relative to city buildings and vehicles.

I have to confess that I am biased, though, because I *love* 6394.

Posted by Outer Rim Emperor in United States, 17 Feb 2012 23:54

This would be quite an impressive city set! Love Octan!

Posted by Zordboy in Australia, 17 Feb 2012 23:59

You know what? I have to agree with rocao. It's an okay set, but I just don't really like it that much. It seems quite small, at least, compared to 6394. And wouldn't the security guard be on the ground floor?

Posted by meyerc13 in United States, 18 Feb 2012 04:35

The more I look at this set, the more I love it. I'm wondering if the security office can be moved to the first floor by the entrance... if so, that would free up another parking spot on the second level. I'd probably relocate the repair shop as well, which would result in having 8 parking spots. Not too shabby.

Posted by roxio in United Kingdom, 18 Feb 2012 05:02

This pales in comparison to 6394 and its secondary market will only increase.

Posted by Matthew in United Kingdom, 18 Feb 2012 05:33

Now what about this ladies and gents? http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7179/6890877533_c2433f939c.jpg (through EB). Didn't someone say there would be a Wal Mart exclusive too, how about this...

Posted by charfdorn in United States, 18 Feb 2012 07:00

@DaveBey, that part looks like it is two Technic pins (with a space 1 stud wide between them) connected together and then two clips on the other side. I don't think I've seen anything like that before. I suppose it wouldn't have to be Technic pins on the other side; it could be plain old tubes attached to half-pins (the pins on the other side of the garage are blue, but you can't see what's attached to them over there).

Posted by peterlinddk in Denmark, 18 Feb 2012 10:31

@DaveBey and @charfdorn, the part that holds the top-most streetlamps (and the signs) isn't a brand new part.
It is a 47994 - Triangle 1 x 3 with Two Pins and Two Clips - http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/47994 - and it has been in use since 2004, but it is rather rare, so it is no surprise that most of us haven't seen it before.

I've added a photo of the garage seen from the side, just to give you guys more details :)

Wow! This is really cool! Anyone noticed the hospital nearby? Only bad thing about this set is to be a car park its a little small! Oh well could just buy two for a mega carpark! Yeah!

EDIT: @LegoCoastGuard, that is so cool if it was a set. Maybe a combo of the Gas n go flyer and the Power Boat Transporter. Maybe that (Gas n go) was rated high like the Car Park and lego made that to! Yay!

ok here are some sets this would go with:
A skyscraper
A deluxe airport with everything real airports have.
A mall
and a department store.

Posted by llanowarsoldier in United States, 18 Feb 2012 12:41

@Graysmith, I am gonna say it is a safe bet. If it is, it's too small and the helicopter it comes with is bigger than the building itself. IMO it looks more like an Urgent Care center instead of a hospital.

Posted by legogeek in United States, 18 Feb 2012 12:52

@meyerc13 - I agree about the displayed layout having limited parking space for customers as set up... only the two roof spaces. To make more parking I'd move the carwash to the ousite (back with the gas pumps), move the security office to the outside next to the elevator, and move the service bay to either an outside location or on the first level. At least this would free up the second floor and roof for parking.

@bloxbot5 - if you look at other photos of the town set-up, that car (MPV) shows up all over town...

@Graysmith - well that certainly is a Hospital (see the H on the heliport). We'll just have to wait & see if it turns out to be the official Hospital. ;o)

I think it will be interesting to see what we really wind up getting later this year. Looks like plenty of neat additions to the City line.

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 18 Feb 2012 13:02

At least it seems we're getting baseplates...

Posted by mojolego in United States, 18 Feb 2012 13:11

Regarding the hospital photo, do note the license plate number: JL 4429.

Posted by Graysmith in Sweden, 18 Feb 2012 14:16

The parking structure actually seems to have four parking spots on the roof and one in front of the security booth (and you could park one where the orange service truck is). That's at least what it looks like if you look at the photo peterlinddk linked to a few posts above this one, this one:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/14446149@N07/6896779913/in/set-72157629361232641/

Posted by legogeek in United States, 18 Feb 2012 14:23

@Graysmith - I think you right about the 'double' parking, I noticed that too, but thought it's a tight squeeze.... for compact cars only! LOL!

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 18 Feb 2012 14:29

From previous pictures, i thought each floor could only hold one to cars, one on either side. Nice to know this can fit 4 cars on one level.

Posted by charfdorn in United States, 18 Feb 2012 14:38

@legogeek, in a world where most cars seat only one person, space to get in and out is of no importance. Everyone knows minifigs pop the roof off and climb out that way.

Posted by brixton in Canada, 18 Feb 2012 14:48

@Graysmith: Based on a previous photo I saw, that will be this year's hospital set. The main difference is that it looks like LEGO changed the colour scheme. In the first photo I saw of the new hospital, it was blue. In this more recent photo, it is white. I think the new colour scheme works better.

Posted by llanowarsoldier in United States, 18 Feb 2012 15:22

@ Yellowcastle, sorry to burst your bubble but no baseplates still. The Garage and Hospital are on the thick 16x16 plates that were put onto normal baseplates for the display. It is safe to say they are a thing of the past, unless it is a modular.

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 18 Feb 2012 15:30

I'm very disappointed at LEGO for not offering anymore baseplates on sets. Are they getting too pricey to manufacture? I absolutely hate those thick plates.

Posted by llanowarsoldier in United States, 18 Feb 2012 15:46

If i remember correctly, baseplates are the most expensive piece to make. Think about it, its $5 for one of those things, and the road plates are even more at $7.50 a piece, hence the $15 for the sets at stores. Bottom line is that it is just more cost effective and saves money not to make them anymore for the mass release sets.

Posted by timlambrix in United States, 18 Feb 2012 15:46

@DaveBey: I too am curious about the train in the background ( http://flic.kr/p/buVeKD). Does anyone know from what set it is? It reminds me of a Burlington Northern (http://mocpages.com/moc.php/45) but I would like to see a better pic. Anyone else?

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 18 Feb 2012 15:53

To me, it looks like a green version of the Maersk Train. Just my thoughts though.

Posted by M-Tron Hero Kodiak in United States, 18 Feb 2012 16:41

Yes! Another car port! I made one last summer, based off the older one. Good thing. I didn't really want to pay 150-200 dollars for the old one, even though the older one is way superior to this one.

Posted by Graysmith in Sweden, 18 Feb 2012 16:56

I never understood why baseplates were so expensive or why LEGO don't bother with them anymore. Most often they're just a big plate in one colour (most often) with studs. There's no printing, no assembly, no nothing. They're as simple as LEGO gets and still they cost a fortune. I shake my head every time I walk past them in the store and look at the price.

The more pictures I see the more pumped I am for this set. The lastest pictures seem to show a gas pump behind the car park with the new police car filling up hopefully the gas pump is part of the set. In addition to this set seemingly having several parking spaces which is just what I need at the moment. I also oddly like the entrance ticket machine and security station. Regarding the baseplates, I too get frustrated at this and find I am constantly buying them I now have 3 green 1 blue and several XL grey for what is only a small city collection. I think the biggest crime in this area is the city airport which has no runway included and no easy way of getting any! But back to this set regardless of the plate issues I'll still buy on day one and no doubt a couple more XL grey baseplates to put it on.

I like the looks of this and think it has a lot of potential. It doesn't bother me that it lacks a gas station as I haven't ever seen a real parking garage that does. It almost bothers me that it has a car wash, as I'd rather have more parking spots than details real garages don't have. This will be a great addition to my city, and give me somewhere to park the disproportionate amount of vehicle sets Lego has released.

Buy a few of these and you have a huge parking garage.

^ That'll be an expensive way to build a large garage, though.

I belive it will be a set according to the stickers because all the moc buildings dont have any stickers so its probly going to be 4207

Eiker86 (the photographer behind many of the pics) wrote on Eurobricks that the green engine is merely a green 10219 without stickers.

With this set, I am going to put it with set 7642 Garage as I think they will compliment one another. Also, looking at the pic more I will be replacing the "guard rails" with something else. Also, over on Eurobricks posted a link to a pic of a Recycling center. It showed 2 of the Recycling Trucks and the Garbage Truck, but the building is hard to tell if it is a MOD or an actual set.

I am liking this set ALOT!
may need to make a few changes to it though, like putting the security guard and his booth down beside the boom gate, therefore opening up another park on the second floor.
that Kombi looks pretty cool too.
I wonder if the glider and car are a new set as per this years vehicle sets (ambulance, 4wd and dirt bikes, etc)

Posted by llanowarsoldier in United States, 19 Feb 2012 22:05

@ TC, the Glider is rumored to be another airline exclusive, which I hope it isn't as it looks like a neat set.

I'd definitely want to get two of these sets to make a decent size parking lot for my city. Colour-wise, I think this will be a much better fit with the 7993 Octan Service Station!

4203 - Excavator (very nice! goes well with the truck)

Posted by Pobwall in United Kingdom, 20 Feb 2012 10:28

Let's hope we get as many cars as we did in 88 with 6394.....

After some zooming, i think it's safe to say this set will have at least 4 cars; the tow truck, the minivan on the elevator, the blue car entering the car wash and the yellow car on the ramp. They all seem to have a 4207 license plate sticker on them.
